It is midnight EST when the sale goes live. Then for 2 minutes everybody watches spinning wheels. Then the site goes down for 15 minutes, after which it comes up with errors in pricing, which then get fixed in the next 30 minutes, after which the buying frenzy starts and the first reports of "Mine is in warehouse!" "Mine got cancelled but I still have the freebie showing!" etc. show up.6 points

Great for in front of the Town Hall. This guy is always creeping by the fountain in our town.6 points

Picked up my first 75059 Sandcrawler for $86.80 from TRU. Used $200 rewards, $5 off coupon (code:979378), and 15% gift card.4 points

Just keep the set. It's a very collectible item and most people don't get a chance to own one. Sets like these will eventually be more valuable than many exclusives.3 points

I hope you get it. I was able to finally get a Temple of Airjitzu online. I had 2 GBHQs and 2 Batcaves cancelled.3 points

As images speak louder than words, this image sums it all up. No - this is not a build step, this is the finished product. I understand why @emazers was turned off by this set when he saw it being built at the LEGO store.3 points

Those bust sets like Yoda and Maul are ucs sets and i just have no interest in them. R2D2 was another set i passed on. I do think Slave 1, SSD, b-wing, and Red 5 are on the upper scsle of ucs sets. They are awesome sets. Personally since i have a five year old and get the most enjoyment building with him and watching him have the fun and excitement i did as a kid playing with the Star Wars universe, i prefer the ultimate playset sets. This Hoth set will be a great project for my son and he will get enjoyment out of it. Sets like Slave 1 are for older kids. Ill also say the Sandcrawler is more for older kids too. The hull to that set is fragile and doesnt meet the young kid test. I would toss that into the upper echelon boat too. sets like ewok village, the death star and this hoth set are perfect for kids with afol star wars fans. If you dont have kids i can see why its not your type of set.3 points

You no how I always tell everybody to get an Exclusive now and then, well with this set I am not getting any. I was at the Lego store yesterday and they just got done building it and for $250 its pretty bad. The only way I would get a few if they put them on sale for $125 due to nobody buying them. I don't think these past few posters are correct. I got a sealed case the other day and it was filled just how it's supposed to. 3 complete sets and 6 extra. Extras being stitch, alien, mr incredible, syndrome, Mickey, and genie. I wouldn't believe reports of any different distributions unless they actually opened the figs.2 points

I found a Phantom today at a Target. It didn't scan when I was in the aisle, so I took it up to the front and it rang up for $10.48. Boy was I happy. Less happy when I found out the CMF13s that I found were $4.89. I went in there looking for some Chima that the stock locator said was on clearance.2 points

Ed and I were just looking how some people are bidding up to $324 already for that Space Slug http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xlego+space+slug.TRS0&_nkw=lego+space+slug&_sacat=02 points

I went ahead and copied all the content from Jeff's post to the first post in this thread. That way you all know where it is and you don't have to back track to Jeff's post.2 points

Most of the UCS sets are not minifigure scale. In fact, almost all the UCS sets are on different scales. You're going to need to make peace with that or move to ERTL scale models2 points

Personally I would go with the AT-AT or Snowspeeder microfighters or one of the TFA Battle Packs that are 20% off.2 points

Lol I agree the lookup tower on Hoth is dumb. Who in his correct mind would stay alone up there when a. It is cold and windy b. you cannot see anything 1/2 the time due to snowstorms anyway2 points

AT-AT (75054) for $209 via ebay. second this week. pushed my prices up since i was not expecting them to sell so quickly.2 points

Peeping Toms is a nice way of putting it. Another would be to say everyone's turning into a voyeur. I am all in for a society where people can feel comfortably open and accepted ....but I really do not need to know everything going on in every person's life. As for 'reality TV', it is anything but real and funny when social media points out the bull every time.2 points

Wow, I think I may have coined a new phrase on BP. I'd say it's more Beta at this point, given it's been going on since early 2000's when Lego started consistently making larger sets. However, it's definitely not as old as "buy on bad news" and "dollar cost averaging."2 points

For them it can make sense to see how people react to their trailers & such. However I still find it weird how mainstream the concept of reaction videos in general have become. Instead of watching the teaser yourself, you are watching someone else watch the clip. It would be like watching your friend on the couch instead of looking at the screen. I suppose somebody could make the same point with "Let's Plays" except in those the gamer is actually doing something.2 points

That's what my thought process is too. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The 3 year old is really started with Duplo and really is starting to like Lego but not ready to put some of regular Lego sets together but would love the playability of the Ewok Village and Hoth. I remember playing with the original Ewok Village as a child and being able to recreate that memory with my daughter would be awesome! I will have to take another look at the Slave 1. I want some display sets but would really like a set similar to the Millennium Falcon.2 points

Hope there isn't traffic I walked into a nearby Lego store today and got my invite, just asked for a name and number.2 points

Bought 1 more sleeping beauty and uncovered these treasures from the vault (or a GameStop drawer)2 points

Yeah, we all feel the same way. Personally, I think $125 should be the MSRP for this "greatest hits" set of 4-5 previous Hoth ones.2 points

I don't have the original Hanger Gate, nor the wampa cave (anymore), nor any turrets, nor trenches. If i tried to buy all those sets it would be way over $250. I have no problem with the price point. But i also don't think it's CEO shelf-bound. That's what makes a Lego set go crazy price-wise. SSD has that quality, Tumbler has that, X-wing has that, Slave 1 has that, Tie has that. Supply and investors may prevent it, but you need that museum quality WOW for AFOL's to not cry foul.2 points

Got lucky at Target today since I missed the online pre-sales. Full / unsearched box of Disney CMF. This is great since we'll be inserting 1 poly in each of the grab bags for my kid's upcoming birthday party. Then I'll give kids the chance to trade with each other and me so every boy and girl leaves with a minifigure they like.2 points

I hate to break it to you, but you are being played. I taught my kids early on. The answer is ALWAYS "No". They don't even ask because they know my policy on impulse items. If you hear a toddler begging and screaming about a last minute candy bar or small toy, it's not my kid. I observed enough of these antics while I was serving my time in retail to know that I NEVER wanted that to be my kid. The only one who gets everything they want when they want it is me.2 points

Great set! Christmas happens every year! We don't have to wait around a movie to put this set moving... And yes, there are still a few out there and will stay there since the summer is just around the corner and I suppose no one buys these in the summer... But in November and December these will be very hot! Who wouldn't want to get one of these as a Christmas gift? [emoji13]1 point

I just heard about the 50% off b-wing a couple days ago.....now this?! One of my biggest regrets was having a dark age and I didn't even know what it was.1 point
