Got lucky at Target today since I missed the online pre-sales. Full / unsearched box of Disney CMF. This is great since we'll be inserting 1 poly in each of the grab bags for my kid's upcoming birthday party. Then I'll give kids the chance to trade with each other and me so every boy and girl leaves with a minifigure they like.

My patience paid off today - got my 10220 VW T1 Camper Van (still missing from the collection) from EBay using Rewards Certificate and Gift Cards, and got 8% Bucks back. Total out of pocket (for the GCs which I bought during another 8% promo - see my BestBuy SNAFU): $70.92.

Hi guys :-) just joined the site-mainly collect Star Wars Lego with my son-we got back into Lego 3 months ago after finding 5 or 6 old Star Wars sets in storage we had long forgotten about! We've added nearly 30 more sets since then and have definitely been bitten by the Lego bug :-)

I'm pretty sure that's Photoshoped. There's certainly no Indiana Jones movie that exists that would have a scene like that. Sadly, I owned that. My parents obviously were looking for the cheap way out for SW toys...

It was the Feb/March clearance. Stumbled upon 2. My 7 year old built one and put the other one up.

Kmart VIP deal worked for me. I picked up the train and had $155.xx added to my SYW account. Points expire in 2 weeks. I did not have the $10 off $10 available though.

If the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is going to be the first in a new series of 'Technic UCS' sets, then this model will become similar in status to 10181 Eiffel Tower, and 10182 Cafe Corner. The first model of a series... Will make it all the more desirable for future collectors.

I'm thinking this is what happened: 1) TRU wanted to do a 20% off promo, but (yes I blame this thread, @exciter1) thanks to the clever coupon printing folks they know how much money they'll be losing on exclusives and other hoarded sets so the executive brass says "we need to make it impossible to buy hard-to-find items with this coupon, or else we'll bleed to death". Some folks over in middle-management get their running orders. 2) Mid-management has the team work on a few scenarios on how to avoid this rampage. Simplest plan gets the go-ahead first "let's just mark up the price on those items so that after 20% discount they are back at normal price". This gets implemented. 3) Come Monday (or whatever day it was the promo went live) mid-management gets feedback from CS or Marketing saying these prices are causing a lot of upset. They quickly ask the IT guys to implement plan B: just delist all the HTF items from the website. This gets done pronto. 4) Promo is over. Everyone has forgotten the crazy price-hike idea. IT resets the flag on the HTF items and they reappear. Lo-and-behold, with crazy pricing from point 2 still in place. Prediction: Within 24hrs those prices go back to normal, unless there's another 20% off going on (and didn't we see one), in which case - depending on the success of the FRIENDS20 promo and the HTF-disappearing-act - we might see those items go into hiding again.

Within last hour I went to discovery center- a lot of series 15 and Disney series, next was TRU, just few minutes ago, no minifigs at all anywhere, but when walking outbid spotted employees smooshing Disney series on CS desk. Now I'm at target, lets c....

I pontificate that the 149.99 large set due out on September 30th for the Rogue One Force Friday event will most surely be Tantive IV. Here's my speculation to why this set is a huge possibility. What can be a 149.99 set? Surely not a new AT-AT, because they are rumored to be smaller than the ones from Hoth in this movie, if you read all the spoilers. Tantine IV hasn't seen a remake in a lot of years and the last time was in 2009. Sounds like a perfect place for it. This ship will also be in the movie, since the movie will end with the DS plans being placed in the hands of Princess Leia on Tantine IV. Second, the new Droid Escape Pod will somehow work with this thing. Rumor is we also will definitely see a new AT-ST, and supposedly AT-AT's are on the packaging materials. I suspect both vehicles are remade in the first wave of Rogue One sets. That gives us 2 other sets that are unknowns... plus a DS. I'm still under the assumption the new DS will be based on Rogue One, and be another one of these 250.00 sets. I could be wrong, but i'd be shocked if this is a direct rehash of the original DS. I just don't see it happening.... There's another rumor of a "playset" in the movie based on a fight scene. That takes up another set. Starkiller Base could be possible. But, let's hope it's not some lame boring 500.00 model of the planet. SNORE me to death. I doubt Lego goes that route, anymore. I suspect we see more sets like Hoth Rebel base and less sets like the old DS2. Lego's market isn't a handful of elitist AFOL's that don't want their toys to look like toys. Their market is kids that spend time building, then playing with their creations.

Ewok Village was a poor seller for a time, hence the multiple discounts and deals. Unlike the Assault debacle, it was not really due to poor design or creativity, just overshadowed by too many other options. The Ewok Village will destroy the Assault on Hoth set as a collectible and investment.
