  1. Please feel free to move, Admin. Wasn't sure where to post. A work colleague made this for me for my birthday. It was delicious! I'm not sure of the resale value but you're all welcome to have a piece if you like. There's plenty left over Everything is edible except for the base plate haha

  2. After scoring some clearance sets I built the arctic helicrane and my 7 year old built 60093 Deep Sea Helicopter. A good evening of bonding over Legos.

  3. I recently finished the pool hall and started piecing my town together. Still have several buildings to add, just moving stuff around and coming up with ideas. I want to do two blocks and a park but I'm going to need a wider space.

  5. So my birthday was yesterday. My 10 y/o son got me this set for my birthday. It was really sweet of him to do it. He was really excited.

  6. That is what we have done. We substituted the balls given for marbles. The very slightly flat spot on the plastic balls can impede the motion of the ball. The marbles roll unconditionally!

  11. After reviewing the model with my dad, who's been on multiple occasions, I went ahead and did some tweaks. It didn't make sense that the mountain would crest above the aqueduct, so I trimmed it a bit. Then, looking at every arial shot, I couldn't avoid the fact that the hillside is completely forested. So I built some trees, had to get a little creative to make them small enough/fit the scale. Used a similar idea to what's done on the Detective's Office street tree, but smaller. Put in some green slopes here and there to dot the rocks with greenery. Then added a display stand and tiles, to label it like an Architecture set. New projected price point ~$602 according to BrickOwl's calculator. It requires 12 ultra rare parts, the "Tan Slope 1x2 Triple" (the cap pieces to the angled flanges on the bottom tier struts). There is only 1 seller in the world with stock, and he's charging $5.35 per piece. I guess there are more expensive parts out there, but rarely do you need 12 (or in the case that my dad wants a copy, 24) of them. Ugh. Quite happy with how it's turned out though! It would be super cool if Lego explored an "Ancient Architecture" sub theme at some point in the future. At this scale I suppose this is sort of a cross between Architecture and Creator Landmark, but it sure would be cool if they did it at any scale! Edit: ^^ Click in and go Full size, it's a huge detailed render, preview on the thread doesn't do justice to BlueRender's abilities!

  13. It should not be too hard based on accessories. I'd probably write a smooshing guide as soon as I get my hands on these

  14. I found these today at target in portage, mi i doubt anyone on here lives by me but there are tons left and they rang up $2.99 for me. I believe the price should have been $3.99 though? I bought 15. It is really hard to tell Minnie from Mickey and Donald from daisy. Out of my 15 I only ended up with 1 double (I got 2 geanie's by mistake). I am getting good at figuring out what is in the pack, but I feel like a total nerd for it

  15. Robin's costume origin story... http://brickfanatics.co.uk/cinemacon-footage-unveils-lego-robins-origin-story CinemaCon footage unveils LEGO Robin’s origin story (by rich at brickfanatics ) CinemaCon is happening over in the States and those attending got to see some exclusive footage introduced by co-directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, and LEGO Batman himself Will Arnett. Miller spoke to those in attendance with Question “Can Batman be happy?” Entertainment Weekly attended and gave us some more on the tease footage. LEGO Alfred chastises the caped crusader. “You need to take responsibility for your life,” the butler says. “And it starts by raising your son LEGO Alfred clarifies: “The young orphan you adopted at the gala.” SMASH CUT TO: A LEGO version of **** Grayson, voiced by Michael Cera, trotting merrily through the Batcave. And **** quickly convinces Batman to let him join up in his fight against crime. He slides through Batman’s suit collection, including a “Night Terror,” a “Festive Bat” suit, a “Winged Avenger” suit, and literally dozens of other Bat-suits. Then **** stops on one suit, a familiar-looking red-and-green outfit, with a big “R” on the chest. It’s called “Reggae Man.” LEGO Batman explains that it comes from a “Jamaica caper.” **** grabs the costume, but complains: “The pants are little tight.” So he takes the pants off, leaving only green underwear. Voila: A new Robin origin story in two minutes, it sounds hilarious. The movie is out in 2017 and the build up is getting better and better

  17. I let my nephew build one of the morrow dragon ninjago sets I got for $35 a few weeks ago. It kept him busy for hours while the rest of us packed (we're moving somewhere warm) ☀️ It was so worth it for him to not keep asking me for something to do and make a mess

  18. This exactly. I love the trailers. Our house has been doing "no no no no no no" to the Batman theme song many times since seeing this. In Lord/Miller I trust.

  19. Like @exciter1 just said, page 1. I will always make sure page 1 has it to make it as easy as possible to grab that. Don't believe it's out of the kindness of my heart though - I'm making it easy for me when I've forgotten to download it to my phone.

  20. OK, I just received my VIP April Statement. Funny, they are letting me pick more reward benefits. The 100% back on single item up to $50 is back, so I could load it. I also was able to load other coupons like the $10 back on $10 and the $60/$110 points back on Auto purchase. Go check your benefits and see if you might be eligible for more stuff. I already picked the $20 back on $40 sometime last week. http://www.shopyourway.com/tag/shop-your-way-rewards-vip/1461510

  25. Out of all the Architecture sets I've built, this was one of my favorites. I'm not sure what it was, I enjoyed the multiple SNOT techniques used, the fact that I didn't have to line up a bunch of 1x1s, and it seemed less repetitive than some of the others. Oh, it was a gift and I didn't have to buy it. That may have been a big part of it.

  27. Bulk Lego bag for $45 with the 4867 instructions showing, which is why I bought it. Looks like most of the set is in there and come to find out looks like a lot of 10217 is also in there. Score!!

  28. My story is boring compared to the last few but I built the Flatiron Building to distract me. I wasn't looking forward to the build because of how small the finished product is but I was really surprised and how it ended up. It looks fantastic with other architecture sets around it and was a very enjoyable, if slightly repetitive build. This is also a good set for people to part out or to use the parts to make your own MOC with.

  36. Clearance will usually sit on the shelf until it is sold. In rare cases it is transferred to other stores. If the merchandise becomes damaged or otherwise is not able to be sold it would be sent to that stores claims department. This is where all returns, damaged, transfers or stolen merchandise is processed out of the system. The claims department would either trash the item or send it back to the claims center. This decision is not made at store level, we strictly do what the system tells us to do with it. I have never gotten a concrete answer as where the claims center send the merchandise, but I have seen Walmart price tags on merchandise at close out stores. My guess is it is just sold to salvage buyers. Edit: Sometimes old merchandise is stored out back. This should never happen, in fact there is a report that prints weekly of all deleted items stored in the backroom, The report prints so it can be fixed, Many department managers ignore the report. At some point though, these items come back to clearance land.
