  11. Superman Man Of Steel Bundle: 76002 Metropolis Showdown, 76003 Battle of Smallville, & 76009 Black Zero Escape - $89.99 on eBay. Plus the buyer paid shipping to Canada. I'm a little shocked these sold above MSRP! A decent profit too considering my buy-in for the lot was around $30.

Scored a good deal and an amazing one last night from Craigslist from two different sellers. Picked up a sealed 60097 City Square for $100 and 21016 Sungnyemun loose with box and instructions for $40!
  17. Great, thank you 4am Pacific...
  18. When you've got used to the bag 1, bag 2 format of most lego, hunting through all the bags for a part seems frustrating now. The actual build was fun though. Fiddly at points and takes a while to realise what different pieces of the build are for but when it comes together its quite a clever build. It's quite an impressive size for the money too (£68 from German Amazon) I'm waiting for Smyths to drop the price on the Technic Cargo Plane as I think that will be an even more impressive build especially with the power functions included in the set. As for displaying, it's very impressive to look at all the detailing and how it is built, but I'm really running out of room for displaying Lego.
  19. Open it .... Unless it is a 10179 it won't matter much
  20. I hate how Walmart now applies these square stickers to almost every set .
  21. Same price at walmart if you want more than amazon's limit http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Scooby-Doo-The-Mystery-Machine-75902/45059391
  22. Man, you are all over the country. I want your job , maybe/depends.
  23. Man, Maleficent is so freaking sweet! Her and Ursula are top tier blending the animated character into LEGO's world I think. All are good really aside from Genie's awkward head cap and Alice does look much better in person than on the box. Stitch's head appears enormous here. Haha. It could be the angle and lighting. Captain Hook's face feels the most odd of them all. Yeah, that talk never gets old. Heaven forbid LEGO make any unique personas. At least the Martian has been updated with dual molded short legs and now Ariel is a minifigure over the former minidoll. Speaking of repeats, this Buzz is mostly the same except for the regular head with printed legs and arms.

Well some people designed then put it together so tip of my hat to them all for such a fantastically accurate recreation. Shoot, I want one in my yard. Haha.

  28. @feed: Is that ISD 75055? The box of that set is quite big so that's surprising. Finished building that Batman set with the exception of Batmobile and Batcopter and the superhero minifigures. Those are already packed for sale to recoup parts of the original costs. It was a fun build and the final result is more impressive than I imagined. A lot of people complain about the set but I think it's cool. I'm not a fan of superheroes and Batman though. And this is how it could look like if integrated into a modular street.

I went to the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover, Massachusetts for Animal Rights Day. http://www.mslaw.edu/animal-law-2014/ It an amazing event that keeps getting better every year. I got to pet an alligator today along with lots of other critters. My girlfriend Michelle had a table selling her kids book Kyppa and the Duckling. Most of the proceeds from the book today are donated to the Sampson Fund here on the Cape. Not that we sold that much but I always match it so any amount helps. Kyppa was our Rottweiler who was a AKC Good Citizen and a CAP Therapy Dog. Michelle would take her to nursing homes and rehab facilities. Kyppa was obsessed with tennis balls so you had to watch out for walkers that had them. She'll kill me for posting her picture. Pictures are too big for one post. It keeps merging...

  31. If you go to amazon.com and logout of your account (just search amazon as a "guest"). Most items will have the same price with "free shipping on orders over $49". Of course, a difficult employee may still refuse if the item is under $49. And of course there are a few items (like the current Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine) that are "for Prime members only". Those might be tough to price match if you have a difficult store policy... try another store.
  32. All Pet Shops I ordered from TRU in the past month were delivered as Parisian Restaurants. Think I got in for six.
  33. No, all sets produced after week 47 of 2015 have it already modified. See page 19 of ths thread
  34. That time does seem to be pretty common for stock updates. And with all the GC being dumped on ebay its not surprising they are going quick. It is interesting to see all this stock show up in TRU.com, given that for a few months they had very little. Would be curious to see seal codes for all these sets.

Not to detract from the £1 chicken men! Very now has 3 for 2 on the ninjago flight of destinys bounty, Star Wars imperial shuttle and Death Star duel and the attack on avengers tower. With the 20% discount this makes them pretty much half price and you can also get an additional 20% if your a new customer.
  36. Delete - I missed the part where he thought he should receive a 10% discount by using a GC (really?). I thought they wouldn't let him get the discount because he was using partial pay on his CC AND his GC.
  37. My daughter discovered American Girl minifigs and sets from M***B****. So I hear ya.
  38. Nothing can be worse than the Lana drama on "Smallville".
  39. The only 3 current series I actually sit down and 100% watch are Game of Thrones, Black Sails, and Star Wars Rebels. Other shows are just background noise. That is how good Rebels is, and it is only getting better.
  40. Bought 5 ..75074 Snowspeeders ...after EBay bucks .. Total cost $32.19
  41. It's a small world after all....
  42. It will be an easy transition to move those jingle bells to jangle bells.
  43. One of the most underrated parts of this game that people do not emphasize enough is without a doubt the buy-in. Sure if you are buying a set at 30% off you are guaranteed reasonable profits. Back in 2004-2007, discounts on exclusive's were very easy to come by. I have posted this pic before, but just to emphasize how different this game is now, could you imagine discounts like this in today's climate. I know I can't. Buying exclusive's at 50% just does not happen anymore. If this happened in today's market, it would go bananas. The BP would probably shut down and it would be a national holiday. Discounts like this were common place before. The buy-in was crazy low. I almost want to vomit thinking about how much I missed out from 2007-2012 before the game started changing. Just finding a set at 10% off like the Tie Fighter today (it was 15%, but most have at least 5% in taxes), make people go crazy now. Before a 10% discount would barely even cause people to bat an eye. Tie Fighter or Slave I going for $100 would crash a website. Getting the Kwok-E-Mart for $150 from Barnes and Nobles is a no brainer, but if you weren't online at the right place and the right time you likely missed it. For most casual investors, we do not have the time to hunt every deal down, and eek out every percentage point discount, making it increasingly hard for the casual investor to succeed in Legovesting. But truly, the most important aspect of the game going forward is the Buy-In. It's easy for an emazer or any other BPer who stalks deals for maximal discount to sit back and feel good when buying at 30-40% off RRP on an exclusive. Even if the market sits sub $600 for 10188, a buy in at $275 makes profits easy going. For future sets, however, getting a set like GBHQ, Hellicarrier, Sandcrawler, etc. for more than 10% off is a battle, a battle which Lego is fighting furiously to win. The occasional deal will pop up, but it is becoming harder and harder to get that low buy-in. Given the effort of the buy-in, one has to start placing a value on the time to hunt these deals down, whereas before an RRP buy-in was more than good enough, and anything else was gravy. Now there is no gravy. Just biscuits. Thankfully, Lego's will never bottom out to a zero worth like baseball cards and beanie babies. No matter what there is a bare minimum innate value in the bricks themselves. With Beanie Babies, the fabric and beans are basically worthless in bulk. With baseball cards, cardboard is literally worthless, unless you are using it to ship Lego's. =) Lego bricks sell in bulk for at least some cash, so even in the worst case scenario, there is intrinsic value in the brick itself. This provides a safety net unlike the stock market which can hit zero value.
