Really enjoyed this build, mostly b/c my almost 6 yo did it himself. Love the turquoise bricks too. Side note question for any reading...I went to the Science & Industry last week and got several pictures of the new exhibit there. Pretty impressive. Where would be the best place to post some of those being that I certainly didn't "build" them?6 points

Was able to go back and pick them up @$22.99 each $10 of $30 purchase at Shopko. I've been killing it of Shopko clearance this month!5 points

I went to the Science and Industry in Chicago last weekend with my family and we went through the Lego Exhibit there. They had an area in the back where people could create their own buildings with tons of open Architecture Studio sets as the building material. Overall it was quite incredible to see some of these sculptures.5 points

This might be old news but it's worth mentioning in case anyone missed it. LEGO Shop at Home US: "We're sorry that this set is not available. Please check back in August for product availability. "3 points

I think there are some sets that lego offers that caters more towards an adult market. Architecture line is definitely one of them, and i'd say sets like Birds fit the criteria. When I go into TRU and see birds next to all the other sets like ninjago, superheroes, etc, it just doesn't fit as well. It's one of those sets that makes more sense in the puzzle section of Barnes and Noble or Books a Million. Hence, it has more of an adult appeal to it.3 points

Just curious, why wouldn't you guys post this in your UK Daily Deals thread rather than starting a whole new thread...?2 points

Until the tumbler completely disappears from their website count on this happening on and off. Probably returns from people who overstretched themselves and realising that they couldn't double their money overnight and this dragged their sorry asses back to the store citing some sorry excuse for having to return it.2 points

Looks like an update has gone through for this month. Stagnation is the by-word for the value of my portfolio.2 points

2x 75049 Snowspeeder for $68.89 each amazon FBM. bumped up the price another $10 and lowered quantity 1- feel like i will be kicking myself selling them at this price in a few months but with a $22 average buyin, and free capital running low after a very expensive month, it was time to take some profit.2 points

If they deny you, try another cashier and if that doesn't work, you might have to try it at another store. It's YMMV since it's actually under the manager's discretion. They are store managers for a reason and they can dictate how their location is run to a certain extent. Some stores don't allow digital coupons. Some allow you to make 20 separate transactions so that you can get 20 free promo items. Just try not to stick out like a sore thumb so that loopholes and good deals don't get killed off nationwide because several managers decided to report said loopholes and deals to corporate. Try not to rock the boat so that TRU doesn't turn into another no deal zone a la B&N.2 points

Weak.. Need to keep stirring the pot. What he meant to say is u can get better deal with target eBay gc transferred into Tru gc from gc mall using 8% back ( who cares if it is targeted ). Then going to Tru and price adjusting ( not matching , huge difference people ) a screen shot of the eBay seller and yes they take eBay 3p because if they don't I'll make sure they do . Throw in there 8% rewards back, 20% off coupon and a chima freebie . Less than 100$ . Thanks op2 points

Like the RE (75920) came back in February? I'm not doubting it will, but I think I would have added a caveat instead of speaking in absolutes. This set has been a PITA for LEGO since the beginning. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if it is retired sooner than most other Ideas sets.2 points

50 euros, maybe. A lot of weight but no full sets, instructions or otherwise detracts from the value.1 point

Seriously, who has time to sort and lay out all that stuff like that! My time would be worth more than the value of this lot.1 point

Why didn't you list with Calculated shipping? Far safer to roll with that option on lower priced sales like this, as even a few dollars difference can eat drastically into the margins. Less so if you miscalculate shipping on a $400 set, the percentage will be smaller. It requires a little bit of extra work before listing, to find a box, pack it, weigh it, measure it.... but once you have all that info, jot it on a sticky note and attach it to the box for when you DO end up selling and printing your shipping label. Then take that info when you list, plug it in, and select Calculated. With the ebay discount, you'll usually earn $1 or so on shipping costs (what buyer is charged vs what you're charged), rather than lose it! Regardless, grats on the first sale man! Feels good doesn't it?!1 point

Yeah, it is a deal. Since Barnes and Noble coupons don't really work anymore, it is hard to find good Architecture deals. Architecture New York City on Amazon $46.99 (22% off) http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Architecture-York-City-21028/dp/B017B19DOY/1 point

The Arocs set has the new pneumatics which should be around for a while... The trick with Technic is to be patient.. even more than regular LEGO. Quick flipping Technic is not for the faint of heart, but long term the Aroc, MKII, Volvo and a few others are really good sets that should do OK.1 point

Seriously, if you don't want in on these deals don't bother to read the thread. Gift card deals are some of the best ways to get discounted LEGO in this market. If you have better deals, go ahead and post them. We'd love to see what you have to share with the community. I rarely find deals so I'm very grateful when others share, especially when it comes to gift cards.1 point

The fact that you guys are saying if it will do well and looking to buy some from retail outlets just shows how big the US Lego market is. Here in the Aussie market it barely made it to a few retailers, with only a couple of drops last year. By the time it retired last year, all stock in the wild was virtually gone. It is now selling here for 2x RRP.1 point
