I don't often post deals but when I do, I prefer 25% off exclusives... http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/toys-games-lego-simpsons-kwik-e-mart-71016/28756252?ean=067341923455920 points

We gotta find that SD mole......for any newbies here, I'll re-iterate that posting deals here is a one-way street. If you see something good on SD, post it here if it hasn't been already. But never the other way around.15 points

Was it just me or did others also misread that headline as "Sell to avoid collectors like you"?10 points

Annnddd all done! Had a pretty big "oh ****" moment when i went to put it in the case and realized that i wouldn't be able to actually get it into the case. Luckily i built it with the fences being removable and i was able to take those off and angle it in such a way that i could slide it in as those wire frames through the middle keep you from just putting it in from the front. Aside from some minor tweaks i'll make throughout it's existence; this is mainly the final product as i am quite happy with everything aside from maybe the T-Rex being a tad on the small side, but there's nothing i can do about that. I am not too bothered by the scale of the Explorer and will probably keep it as is since it is such a nice design and really acts as a center piece to the whole thing, but in time i may break and make 2 small ones. I may also space the fence pillars out a bit more, but again that's a future plan for when it starts to really bother me. I grew up on Jurassic Park, and this is the kind of display i have always wanted. When we heard LEGO got the JW license i figured they'd do it justice and maybe do some JP stuff i could display, well we all know they haven't yet. And when the JP Gates Ideas project got denied i went with displaying the JW stuff. Sadly the JW line models are fairly poor to display and didn't do the theme justice for me. Now i have something that displays my favourite scene in the JP franchise, and looks way better as a display piece. Hope you all enjoyed the progress and pictures (i love pictures). If and when i do something else i'll be sure to post a build log for it. Currently i have nothing on the horizon. I debated a Raptor Paddock, but you wouldn't really be able to see the Raptors and i'm not sure if i wanna go with that. I'll also throw a couple updated pictures of what's currently in my display case collection in the collection/stockroom thread, because well... pictures! Cheers.10 points

Between this, Lego double points, and Walmart clearance hunting I tripped the fraud alert on my credit card. First time I've done that. Now I really feel like a BP'er!8 points

I missed out!* *I actually had some of both in the cart and decided against checking out as neither looked like sets I'd want to deal with the amounts already hoarded and their longevity (especially the Mini) . How is that for restraint?7 points

I bought one of these and sold the minifigures and vehicles. I'm going to keep everything else to make a larger Batcave down the road when I buy this set again for my personal collection. I was able to get the net price for the Batcave pieces down to $40 after fees, shipping, and everything else. It's probably close to 2,000 pieces after taking out the minifigures and vehicles but that's just a guess.4 points

Love the Mariachi band idea! Series two had maracas guy, this will be the guitarist, all we need is a trumpet. I wonder if Taco Tuesday guy would work, or if you would just get 3-4 of the guitarists and use the same torso and pants, while mixing up the heads with others. Different sombreros with the same torso/pants might be slick... Then there's the business of who they are playing to - street crowd, concert, restaurant, man proposing to wife...so many options.4 points

I'm already looking forward to form a mariachi band to entertain my minifigs. Also, it's great to see the hairpiece from the zombie cheerleader in a nice color. Overall the line-up looks very impressive. I wish this were the next CMF series instead of the Disney one.4 points

I did not realize this was a rule everyone must follow. Hold on... I found it in the rules. Paragraph right below the one that explains that everyone must only purchase a quantity of one set when they find a deal so that everyone can get their fair share. Just above the paragraph that requires us all to defer purchasing any investment items until 24 hours after a deal strikes so that we can be sure the true LEGO lover has his opportunity to purchase before the "resellers" profit from his inattentiveness.3 points

Am I the only one who is more nervous than excited about this set available at so many TRU stores? I have visions of VC and GS sets3 points

Some have been booted for being accused of Gift Card fraud. Through no fault of their own if you try to pay with gift cards that turn out to be fraudulent, they'll ban you. I wouldn't mess around with GC's on this deal, it's good enough on its own plus whatever rewards programs you might have on your CC.3 points

Spent my weekend "Lego time" selling, woefully unprepared for 2xVIP strategy... Slave-1 & Sandcrawler already OOS (US). Grabbed a Scooby Collection - $104 buy in (sale price + tax - VIP pts), may have been a Day 1 panic buy, need to figure out my ROI stratrgy for it still. QFFL, sit on it, or part it out? Will try and decide today... May keep just the house for my personal collection. Hitting Lego retail store this afternoon (Mall of America) - 10 PAB cups to stock my Ebay store shelves, plus a Parisian Restaurant is my plan. SC & S-1 if they're available in store. Staff there is always happy to give "1 freebee per $75 spent" so no worries about staging out the buys to maximize those...3 points

This is a brilliant idea from an entrepreneur standpoint when you think of all of the consumer data that is being given to them and 25% of all refunds. I shudder at using this as a consumer though.2 points

do not plan on using LEGO Shop at Home or LEGO Stores for ones reselling inventory. what that means is: a. never use LEGO Shop at Home or LEGO Stores for ones reselling inventory b. use other sources for "reselling inventory" Why i. eventually when one start making LEGO store & LEGO Shop at Home source for reselling inventory, sooner or later when their account is reviewed then it will all come and will be banned. if you really plan on doing that then forgo a. VIP points b. use lego stores to purchase in cash and gift cards { never never use credit card with vip account } so that one is not tied to what was purchased. some people may have some other ways of doing it though which i am not going to highlight2 points

I ordered a Sancrawler and a Slave I even though they're both out of stock (expected ship date ~ March 20th). Just want to lock in those double VIP points. I look forward to getting a Kai Dragon shaped dent in each of the boxes.2 points

You won't regret purchasing this set, big sets on my shelf at present are Hogwarts castle, sandcrawler, new falcon and EV. EV always gets most comments, and is certainly my favorite. Plus the nostalgia of the build being a huge SW fan made it worth every penny. The detail is brilliant, leagues ahead of the new hoth set!! If possible I'd get one to build and one for the vault!!!2 points

Me too, for the most part. I grabbed two of these from S@H. Since I don't spend the time tracking down discounts in an area that has few, this is a decent deal with double VIP.2 points

I ordered a Sandcrawler, my order from Target the other day was cancelled, so they are definitely out.2 points

Challenge accepted. For anyone wondering if it can happen, here's some math: $199 - 10% TRUTH = $179 $179 - 20% coupon = $143 $143 - 15% Gift Card (not even the 20% you offered) = $122 You can use any Rewards you have after that to get it down even further.2 points
