  1. All the winning prizes have shipped...Finally. A lot of work. I would appreciate that winners would post photos of their prizes in this thread. I would like to thank everyone once again for your support. Principal Robbins received and deposited the $62,000 check yesterday. Instead of planning for next year, the school would have been planning to close its doors without the support of all of you. I salute you...

  2. My mouth waters every time someone mentions Chipotle......why you ask? 20-30 seconds before you vomit your mouth produces saliva which forms a protective layer in your mouth to protect against the acidity of the puke.........google it, it's true.

  5. My 11 year old opened her own BL store with my help, mostly selling minifigures. She is making probably $10 a week or more profit per week. She can inventory them, invoice, pack and ship. Not bad for 11 year old, on pace for $500 this year. I threw a bunch of polybags that have languished forever on ebay listings and have been moving rocket racoons, hulks, mini tumblers, and a slew of others above ebay prices. Almost 100% international sales: poland, slovakia, S Korea and Spain just this week

  13. You know it's the slow season when the last three "deals" were a t-shirt, a burrito and something from a tractor supply store. Someone wake me up when double VIP starts. Also, I definitely jumped on that burrito deal. Thanks BA!

  17. Just as an FYI warning, apparently its possible to get completely banned from PayPal. I had a customer that was getting a weird "card cannot be used" error when trying to pay me. I helped them do some research and they wrote back with this... -Okay so I went back, and I found out what it was. I used paypal to pay for a private torrent service (to paypal it's illegal). -anything I use that is associated to my bank cards, my email, my phone number, pretty much anything used to identify me is permanently locked out. I could survive a Lego ban (knock on wood), but a PayPal ban would cripple my business.

  23. I´d try another theme! 7938 is not yet selling above RRP almost 2 years after retirement and station are too cheap to be able to offer any interesting return - train investment is no longer what it was 5 years ago.

  26. A little of topic, and it was over ten years ago so the relevance now is non existent, but the UCS sets, they used to go on sale for 50 percent off at times. I had massive orders of UCS items back then. I bought 30 snowspeeders in orders of 5 during this sale. The good ole days....

  30. Palace Cinema...with some personal modifications. I have always admired the aesthetic style of this theatre and was happy to finally have a used one cross my path to build. The build was overall an enjoyable experience. The interior is not the most detailed of the modulars, but the exterior makes up for it in spades. Book 3 was very enjoyable to see how the roof, marque, and most impressively, the Palace sign come together. I enjoyed adding my little touches although I funged up the Shawshank poster. It adds charm though! I still may create stadium-style seating in the theatre, but for now I have a bank to build!

  35. How do you ever order something through the web interface of shopyourway.com? Not only do I have to enter my credentials multiple times when I go from my surprise point overview to actually see the contents of my cart (every time), trying to then checkout results in yet another "member login", which doesn't even work (entered data correctly, but nothing happens when I try to go on from there - no error, nothing). Who develops a website like that?

  39. Everyone has there own strategy and maybe they are all just plain silly. I have qfll 4 for modest profit and have 4 as mid/long term hold. I could not easily have kept all 8 for mid/long term hold and certainly not 20+. Most importantly I am comfortable with my approach.

  44. Glad to be back! And yes my DS and Tumbler are still boxed up in storage. The one thing that I would suggest would be to find a way that each team plays the other teams the same number of times. Not sure if that is possible, but seems more equitable.

  45. Even though maybe this explanation could sound too "romantic" on one side, I completely agree. I believe this is the reason why they limit purchase quantity. Lifecycle and thus retirement of products it's something that always will generate the rush for a set when it gets discontinued but, at least, putting a cap on the purchases will put a patch on the "greedy" behaviour when the set is still available. It's not obviously the ultimate solution to this issue, but I kinda see it like LEGO with this regard. Resellers are also important in some way because they contribute quite heavily to LEGO's fortune and sometimes they can play a key role in why certain LEGO sets are not discontinued in the "expected" deadlines (they just keep hoarding them according to their expectations), but it is more "fair" to the non-resellers audience that just pick one set to build and enjoy it.

  46. Yesterday I began building again. I started off small with some CMF series 15 followed by 75900 Mummy Museum Mystery. In the meantime some more sets followed: 41078 Skyra's Mysterious Sky Castle 75904 Mystery Mansion 41119 Cupcake Cafe 41101 Heartlake Grand Hotel (which I haven't finished building yet) All builds were enjoyable so far. Some stickers I left off as they would limit a later re-use too much. Especially all those run-down and broken window effects from 75904 probably wouldn't fit into any of my future projects. And even in a toned down 75904 the janitor hired by Skyra doesn't look too happy with the prospect of cleaning up that place. 41078 is surprisingly small. The Mystery Mansion at the same RRP is a lot more impressive in size. The construction of the portal between Elvendale and the world of Emily Jones is cool nonetheless. As I still had a Council of Elrond in the cupboard I added it to 41078 for a fun effect.

  47. Amazing find! You should be able to purchase some nice exclusives with the profit you make from that treasure. The dog appears to be the common police dog. I've never seen a cat like that though. They are usually quite smaller from my experience. I'd be curious as to what sets(s) they are from as well. They may be rare.
