Early box art and product description has bean leaked for the new and improved 2016 Holiday Train: Rescue the holiday train from certain doom! Like the rest of the city, the holiday train is on fire! Fly in for the rescue with the fire helicopter! Help the brave firefighters rescue the passengers, pets and all the holiday gifts! Put out the flames with the special water stud shooter! Be a hero and save the holiday train before it crashes into the Winter Village! Includes 3 brave firefighters. 1 terrified engineer, 2 frightened conductors, and 3 scared passengers. Also includes a cat. And a rat. Position the helicopter to make daring passenger rescues. Save the tricycle, skateboard, books and other presents from the inferno. Accessory elements include 24 flame pieces (we've produced a lot of these), fire extinguishers and water studs. Complete train measures over 45" (115cm) long and includes a holiday-themed locomotive, tender, and passenger car with removable roof - all of which can easily appear to be ablaze. Train can be motorized with a #10153 9v Train Motor and #4548 Speed Regulator. 9v motor, speed regulator and track are not included and are no longer produced but can be found on ebay or BrickLink.19 points

I'm about to really blow your mind, often times if I am getting a large haul, I'll usually give one or 2 $5 sets to a couple kids in nearby checkout aisles on my way out of the store. Paying it forward, baby.7 points

Is this a selfless act or are you just trying to encourage Lego addiction to boost the future sales? Mwahahahha6 points

I spoke with one Bundle winner and will come up with a collection of sets that works for them. I am still waiting on more winners to contact me. I just shipped the first three items. I will ship more tomorrow. YES...Thanks to all of you, we get to do this all over again next year! LOL. The fundraising business for non-public schools is a never ending business and unless we substantially raise enrollment, more money will have to be raised on an annual basis. It's the nature of the beast, but the school is worth the trouble. We will do another raffle at some point. We might mix in some different products as well. My son is an Elf on the Shelf fanatic. His elves are bad though. Troublemakers. LOL6 points

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about a change in what was a weekly article showcasing the Top 10 Sellers in the US Shop at Home website. Given that the trend seems to be for the list to be filled mostly with minifigure packs, smaller "accessories", and things of the sort, I think it will be more productive to transform the article into a monthly update. I will be tracking the Top Sellers list daily/weekly, and at the end of the month will tally up the results and calculate an average position for each set. The first article will be up the first week of March with February top sellers. Expect a little more info then. Thanks!5 points

Well what an excellent idea for a mod building! This would fit in so well along with the other modulars, in the street. I do think though, even if this gets to the 10k votes (which it undoubtedly will imo), its something Lego would never release as an ideas set. I hope they do a modular along this line in the future. Either ways its got my vote. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/1292503 points

Bought a 10234 Sydney Opera House and two boxed Green Grocers 10185. And a 3450 for the wife. Had to get that back. She was mad after I sold my last one and had been waiting to get a good deal on one. So wife is happy and I get to buy more...everybody wins:)3 points

As a kid I never had it unfortunately. Until now I built 7 out of 11 models, some I already built once before a couple of years ago, and I must say that this set really is a treat. I can't even begin to describe how much fun it is and how many hours of play one can get from this set even by following instructions and trying to redo pictured models. Everything was very cleverly designed. I'll show vids of all the models in action. To keep this on topic I'll show one more model.3 points

Spaceport $85. I know many are still holding out for $25 , but lowest online price I've seen so far. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WHZ5A3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_f.OSwb70KHC983 points

I think Poe's X-wing requires no advertising at this point. Same with the UCS sets. They can't send out novels, so they focus on what needs attention. Citing times the catalog is an accurate indicator is no different than applauding someone who got one retirement right out of the 5 they guessed.3 points

I thought I was going to have an awful day as I had to go to the middle of nowhere for work today. I work outside and it is dumping snow/rain. Turns out it was a great day. I found 50% off spaceports, morrow dragon, city square, blue jet, and gorilla grodd, as well as 75%off some bionicles that are not even out yet or just released 71308. I have built all but city square and new bionicle guy and they are all great sets. My sons favorite is morrow dragon.3 points

This is not really a MOC, so I thought I would place in this forum.... For the past few years we have had a school bring their 3rd grade classes to my workplace to do a tour. Each department gets a topic and explains that topic to the children. Our department explains about recycling efforts and energy use. So, I put together this layout to give a visual example as we explained things to the kids. I purchased the instructions to a Brick City Depot building (https://www.brickcitydepot.com/CB026/smokestacks_coffee_house) and modified it a bit to include a standby generator on the main floor. The generator lights up using Lifelites (http://www.lifelites.com/). I used a Brick Builders Pro sticker (http://www.brickbuilderspro.com/) for the "City Power" billboard. I also incorporated LED lights into the street lights and on top of the hydro dam. I have the LED lights on, but maybe difficult to see due to natural lighting /camera. In the layout we have a hydro dam, wind turbine, stationary solar panels on awning and building, rotating solar panels, standby generation, transmission lines and a recycling center (with Hulk getting “angry”). The only thing really missing is a generation plant (too big and expensive to build) and a nuclear facility – which, I’m waiting for a Simpson’s version! The entire grade seems to enjoy it, as do the teachers. This layout makes it sooo much easier to explain to third graders.3 points

When I see the complete lack of posts it reminds me that most everyone emptied their life savings into the tumbler ..... No one wants old bessie Lego Star Wars or not it makes me feel like it is outside of the world of what people want to buy Sort of like a stack of bessie is sitting on the side ready to buy but everyone ignores it and are acting like Alexander..... "When Alexander saw the breadth of his Lego domain, he wept for there were no more UCS sets to conquer." Lack of interest in bessie not withstanding2 points

I recently posted in the "What LEGO set did you build today?" thread about building the Chibi Landspeeder set. Since I was asked about Bricklinking it, and finding the instructions took a few minutes, I thought I'd throw up a post about it. Instructions can be found here from Brickset (PDF). The Bricklink parts list is here. Other than two parts, everything is very common and not particular expensive to get ahold of. There are two parts that are rarer and a little more expensive if you want to put this set together: Luke Skywalker is unique to this set: There is only one US vendor selling at this time, at $25.00. Other figs are available from non-US sources from $15-$19. I opted not to buy Luke, and will just use one of my other Luke's in it's place. The other rare item is Item No: 4150ps4, Tile, Round 2 x 2 with Grille Fine Mesh Pattern. You will need three of them, and they are for the very back end of the model (the back end of the engines). Most Bricklink sellers do not have the quantity you need. The first reasonable one has over 100 in stock, with no minimum buy, used, at a cost of $1.50 each. There are some non-US sources that have them in the right quantity with low minimums, both new and used, between $1 and $1.50.2 points

I'm all for another Christmas train, but I wouldn't consider it something new exactly. Hopefully it will at least be different looking, more than just having the train coming in from the other side of the box.2 points
