  2. This set is really growing me. Especially when I saw how it looks when expanded with multiple copies. The colour scheme is attractive without being garish, and I really like those printed windows.

  4. Made my contribution under "comicblast" I, for one, have greatly benefitted from being a part of this community over the last several years and am grateful to the Macks for all of the time and effort they have invested in creating the BP community and the BC market. Part of me is also disappointed with the lackluster response of members, and I honestly expected this to have a bare minimum of 500 backers at this point. If I (an unemployed teenager who sells a little here and there) can sacrifice a little for the ONLY TIME EVER that the Macks have asked for something in return, surely more of you could make a donation or enter the raffle too!! The return I have received from LEGO investing, reselling, and participating in the community far outweighs anything I have given back to the community (through reviews, articles, posts, deals, etc.), but when I have the time and the means, I try to do my part, and encourage ALL of you to also make a contribution to a worthy cause.

  6. Its beauty will carry the day. This is a one-of-a-kind Lego set. The Asian temple motif is probably not going to reappear in any other other theme or exclusive. This set is going to be a poor seller during its lifetime (already is), which may very well lead to a much shorter than average shelf life (fingers crossed). Many people think of this as a Ninjago set, which is why people aren't buying it. They are also viewing it as an expensive play set from a kids' theme, so they aren't buying it. Star Wars trumps everything for the next year or more, so they aren't buying it... And then before you know it... it will be gone. And it will be one of those sets, like a famous artist, who isn't appreciated during its life. Only after it's gone will it receive the credit it deserves. Mark my words on this one for a re-post in 2018.

  7. It's my day off and my night to cook. My wife sent me to the store. $700 and 9 shuttle tydiriums later I'm home. $74 each. I just went for some noodles and a can of cream of mushroom soup. It's all her fault. I'm actually glad I found these. I don't have any yet and my TRU is out so I was not able to get any through TRUTH. These were not showing at all on my Walmart app, so I guess I'll go check my other two for more.

Before quickly reviewing this set's highlights, I will "POW" my way to this blog's conclusion. If these pictures are fact, I'm officially declaring that set 76052 will be a winner for AFOLs, KFOLs and investors. While consider campy by today's entertainment standards, Adam West's Batman is still very popular despite debuting on the ABC Network 50 years ago (aired January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968). Yes folks, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Batman TV series. Despite this set being Lego's 3rd Batcave since 2006 (excluding Juniors & Duplo) and won't be the last, it most likely will never be refreshed or redone. We have an iconic part of pop culture history in Lego form that will probably be available at retail for only 2-3 years. Box Design Highlights Includes 9 minifigures : Batman, Bruce Wayne, Robin, Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth, Catwoman, The Joker, The Penguin and The Riddler Sorry Bat fanatics but Aunt Harriet Cooper, Commissioner Gordon and Barbara Gordon / Batgirl are not included. The rumored Mr. Freeze minifigure might be a polybag promotion. Vehicles included are The Batmobile, Bat-copter and Bat-cycle. Portions of Wayne Manor are included included the famous red Batphone and statue head that doubles as the secret entrance to the cave. A side wall is also included for Batman and Robin to climb. Portions of Wayne Manor are included included the well-known red Batphone and Shakespeare bust that doubles as the secret entrance into the cave. An outside wall looks to be also included for Batman and Robin to climb and dual sliding poles I expect MSRP to be around $199.99 considering the amount of minifigures and types of elements used. Update : a Mod at Eurobricks thinks retail price will be $270 with a 2,526 piece count. Retail availability looks to be next month. View full blog article

  15. Yeah LEGO is surely run by idiots. They tried the pirate and castle rehashes and failed. The ship remakes fifteen years ago were a flop. Kingdoms Joust did not sell. Conclusion: classic LEGO themes don't sell that well. And you can bet that there will be a new exclusive ship some time down the line, they retired Sea Cow only recently, which was ironically a new ship with creativity. I want to see a cool Ghost Ship too, retailing for $350. Also don't see why is it a problem that they are releasing sets that cover a niche market or just simply don't appeal to you. It's called diversity. Endless generic rehashes of the classic themes would not be boring for sure. Plus, more Minecraft micro worlds? Yeah, that is absolutely not niche... Finally, I haven't seen even a second from the TV series and still like the set. Bummer.

  27. My son and I finally built his 75105. Still strange that while Han looks older, Chewie looks younger when compared to the prep version. Ha. Anyway... Does anyone else have problems trying to fit Chewie and other minifig in the closed cockpit? He's too tall. Heck, we are having a hard time aligning both side jumpers to close the darn thing. I did do one custom mod so far. Added the floor compartment where Rey fixes the gas leak.

  33. The only thing I would add is ask for a manager and be very polite and patient. OH! and check your receipt before leaving the store.

  34. If your purchase was in store the cashier has to press a button to activate the discount once you inform them that you are using the TRU card for the extra 10%. I always politely inform them, otherwise most will forget to activate it. This is especially true around the holidays when the stores are staffed with a lot of temporary seasonal help. If the discount does not show at the bottom of your receipt then take them into a store and hopefully it's not too late to get a price adjustment. Good luck. edit...yeah, what bold-arrow said.

  37. Right before Christmas I sold one for $175. It was pretty much the same profit amount, but a lower percentage than the AT-AT that I was selling at $155. They were all quick flips. I haven't listed a Star Destroyer since then, but I sold an AT-AT yesterday to a family who had a 5 year old that really wanted one. I think that the interaction with other figures/playsets/small vehicles are what drive more people to the AT-AT. The AT-AT likely has a lower ceiling, just because it has been made so often. It'll be a toss up as to whether the faster selling lower cost set is a better long term investment than the larger, more expensive set.

  38. Those pics remind me of the cafe corner box. There is a pic of six sets stacked up and 6x10182 pictured. Back then lego encouraged buying six modulars at once. Now they ban you for it.

  41. You know, What LEGO can you get for $10? a Microfighter, Nexo Knights starter, 2.5 CMF, 2 Mixels, 2.5 polybags, a small city set, 2 very small city sets, basically, nothing that you really want anyway. But if we could all, every user, buy a single ticket, what a change we could make for the cost of something small that would make no impact upon our inventory/collection/hoard. Ed and Jeff's raffle is just an incentive. I mean, for $10/$25/$50, you could win something worth hundreds of dollars. Ed and Jeff are generous with their time and knowledge. They have created this active forum for fans, and investors to intermingle. Isn't this site worth at least $10? Isn't the knowledge shared here, the opportunities to profit, worth at least the cost of a small Pizza?

  42. Weak excuse, because the link provided by Legopocalypse specifies LEGO.com and not LEGO B&M locations. It seems universal that TRU CS claims that they don't PM LEGO until you show them the proof in print.

I picked up order of 2 mint Tumblers in LEGO carton at walmart today doing site-to-store . ymmv. i do pickup in tax free NH so red card discount is more than offset. i think if you order 1 you risk having the giant shipping label slapped on the box.

  49. It really beggars belief. I rarely post but I've visited this site almost daily since I came across it because it's an outstanding resource for the Lego collector/enthusiast/investor. That's due to the hard work and enthusiasm of its founders, who take nothing for the services they provide. Now that they've asked for our help and support, it's to buy tickets in a raffle where we still stand to gain if we're lucky enough to win! Come on guys, please show your for appreciation for Ed and Jeff's unstinting work and support a very good cause at the same time.
