Target generally does a very good job packing for me and they are the best place to get good discounts. The downfall is they sell damaged returns as new so as we get to the end of the line box condition can get quite poor. As long as the seals are intact and there are no tears or punctures I have no problem getting top dollar. Opened/tears/punctures I sell to my local independent lego store or as collectible on Amazon at a small discount. One lesson I have learned is profit from a damaged retired set beats no retired set at all. Cheery picking/repalcing/returning all cost way more in time than I lose on the value of the set.7 points

I'm saying too ambitious about The Tumbler. The idea that you could get $500.00 out of this next year or compare it to 10179 is bizarre. Sorry...6 points

You know I love and respect you Bold Arrow, but I would like to point one thing...The Grand Emporium was the MOST STOCKPILED set of all time. The Tumbler doesn't even rank in the Top 50. People will miss it when it's gone and say..."Boy oh boy, I sure wish I bough a few more Tumblers instead of those (Fill in the Blank)!!!" This set is history and when it goes, it's gone for good. The only way anyone is selling a Tumbler next year and turning it into a Hellicarrier and a PC is if they meet up with Darin's guy in that alley behind K Mart.3 points

The herd has not destroyed QFLL, just altered the game a bit. There is still decent money to be made if you put the time in. Not as much easy money out there.3 points

It could be worse. I got my 2 Pirates Skull Island from Toys R Us today sent in 2 bubble envelopes (1 with and 1 without damage). The FedEx guy was new and didn't know which door to leave them at, so he left 1 at the front door and 1 at the back door. 0.03 points

'had' - before he sent it back to target and then target shipped it to <drum roll> ... thecrapweasel so getting back to the question of whether or not 76023 is the new 10179... i also have had this devious thought poking its way around my brain. granted, there is absolutely nothing that compares with the demand of SW, nothing. nothing nothing. but if there was something that could be 10179ish and not be SW, I think 76023 is a good candidate. problem is there are many more lego hoarders now so nothing could ever be 10179 ever again. even this tumbler thread is blowing up at the prospect of tumbler going eol. i think we need fossilrock to eeyore this thread back into reality. nothing to see here. move along. move along.3 points

Pretty much everything in two stores I went to this morning were on sale/clearance. Most were 20-30% off. Not that great, but today only when you spend $200 you get a $50 gift card (to spend on more Lego, of course). I grabbed AT-ATs, Imperial Star Destroyers and Brick Bountys. I doubt the most popular (and already retired sets) won't make it very long today, but the gift card should be good to grab some of the slower moving sets tomorrow. Now I'm checking store stock and planning to hit up a few more farther away to clear out the SW sets I want.2 points

This is a manager's special on Toys. Not all stores are running it. Some stores are only doing it on selected items. I only ran into one store doing for all Lego sets. My haul of the day ... now I need to find a store with 2 ISD to spend my $300 gift cards. Thanks to Sandwraithx157 for helping me to acquire 3 IR from out East.2 points

By the time you make your decision, purchase the sets and get the listings on eBay 50 other sellers will be doing exactly the same. That £90 will soon become £65 when the QFLL's think they're going to retire on the same idea. Factor in packaging, the hassle of individually splitting everything and umpteen trips to the post office standing Christmas queues and you'll soon be questioning why on earth you ever wanted to part out. Good luck if it's what you want to do, but I couldn't think of anything more laborious for such a poor return.2 points

My prediction is 300-325 shipped this time next year. Place your bets.... Provided that stock dries up and the upcoming movie hypes it up.2 points

And most of those bought a Tumbler with what they paid for an At-At Don't know what all this doom and gloom talk lately is about. If you aren't ringing the cash register during this gold rush it is time to get your hustle on because your competition is certainly ringing the cash register.2 points

It is quite possibly that many people who are in this game do this to fund providing extra income for their families to help pay for many of the families day to day expenses or special things to get the family rather than it being self centered about themselves I see so many people who repeatedly complain on here which is all great and wonderful but the fact of that matter is this. you can like it, love it, or leave it. I still have yet to see anyone on here who says I hate lego investing, the market is destroyed .... the sky is falling, I have sold everything and I have no investment or I am working off of old valuable inventory but as soon it is gone I will get out of the market and go do something else and effective this date I will not buy another lego set for investing for any reason at all even if it is 75 % off perhaps being negative is good therapy if so seems like there is a lot of therapy sessions going on Now off to buy some Tumbler's lol2 points

So, off to see the movie now. Will tell you all about it when I get back. You do want to know what happens, right?2 points

I hope they do, I'm in it for 10 plus years. I don't have time to sell stuff with a day job and family that requires 95% of my time. I don't know how any of you do it that aren't retired, unless it is your job. When the kids move out and I retire then I'll set up a little shop to sell all my collectables.2 points

Another reason to buy early so you don't have to deal with all this. I know if you have unlimited funds, space, time. If you return to target B&M they now send the sets that are online only direct to salvage. The joker fig is in 3 separate bags so not an easy task to steal and have it go unnoticed. Whomever thought that Lego was doing resellers a favor by slapping that "Retiring Soon" tag on this set is mistaken IMO.2 points

Spoiler They've looked old since about 1995.... P.S. The best part about a new movie is you can say whatever I want about the OT with impunity in these spoiler boxes because no one that cares is gonna open them for at least two days [emoji3] I read them all. What do you want to know?2 points

Sometimes the seals will fail on their own for a number of reasons - heat, storing face up, or just regular wear. I have had this happen many times to kits that are stored on the top shelf at 12 feet high. Heat rises. Imagine how high TARGET's warehouse pallet racks are.2 points

Since I started doing this Lego selling thing about a year ago, the only thing that I really regret is not buying a bunch of the delorean. I thought it was an ugly set and slacked on thinking it would retire so quickly. It was readily available for at least 6 months when I first started and I did not buy any. Now it is close to 5x rrp.2 points

Well, I've already sold my 8 brick banks in less than 24 hrs. 6 for buy it now $280, and the other two are on auction. Can't believe how fast they went! I'm getting another 8 from my guy tmrw, and I will probably relist at 290, and see if they sell...I know I don't have much time left to sell these2 points
