  12. let's be honest people if you have sold lego for a profit your a RESELLER.. just cause someone has more lego to sell he is a horder or a bottom feeder?? there is no difference between you and this bottom feeder...i would kill you in a business debate as you don't understand the market if you think "rich quick chasers" is messing thing up for you

  13. You all might want to stop by Fred Meyer today. I stopped in, and they had a big table of Lego, all 40% off. The label was for 'select sets'. I picked up an AT-DP for $30, and a Double Decker Couch for $9. There were LOTS of pirates sets, friends, Lego Movie, chima, and some super hero. The Milano was there for $45 after discount. Overall, there wasn't anything too great from an investment standpoint. These were all the slow sellers at this point. I don't know if this was just at my store, or FM all over the northwest. But there might be some gems out there.

  16. anytime you see 1 post, you can be sure there are 20 additional bp'ers who only read the daily deals thread, never post and are doing exactly the same thing. anytime you think you are the only one onto something, there's 8 people thinking the same thought as you right now. AT-AT and ISD are classic medium term holds. the franchise reboot will bring new fans into the fold and re-awaken the child in many adults, iconic ships will be very easy to unload for decent profit with a 1-2 year hold. this has nothing to do with hoarding or greed. how can you build up stock of something to sell in a year or two without buying it?? the goal is to buy something as close to EOL as possible. We are at EOL for AT-AT. It is time to buy it if you want to sell it. I don't see how this is any different from all the other times stuff goes EOL.

  22. I think there probably is. Just2Good obviously has some major connections within LEGO and has too much consistent insider information to be ignored. The question is whether or not the new Death Star will have an huge effect on the 10188's appreciation. Personally, I don't think it will because of the new movie characters and scenes. If it is a set similar to the 10143 but finished, the 10188 could explode. Even another play set could be much, much different. The 10188 is a classic. It will be missed.

  27. I see it as a good thing. Almost every one that is sold is opened, and took one less in the wild to make it happen. I feel like the horde is doing everyone a favor by cleaning out remaining stock. Let everyone get their $180 now so those with patience can sell for $250-$300 later

  31. I see it in spot 25 - there´s no way a 200 euro no exclusive to lego shop set is going to be moving more units than Wall E or Dr Who, which are new exclusives and at a more affordable price point. I do wonder how long it will take to move to call to check or sold out with buying limit 1 - shame we don´t have the EU stock feed anymore as these are situations it would have come in handy.

  33. I blew out a complete set of microfighters series one the other day for 109 plus shipping. I bought 4 of the 6 on clearance, and paid 8.00 for the other two. Complete win in my book. 3 more complete sets to blow out. I figure i'll tier them as the prices rise. I see these topping out around 150ish. Either way, Star Wars is hot right now. Sold a droid gunship for 72 plus shipping credit. Paid mid 20's for it. Have a few more of these to go too and more than doubled my money on that one.

  34. I tend to agree. I think if you showed somebody an Atat and you showed somebody a sail barge they would know the at-at was from Star Wars if not actually the name of it. I didn't used to think that an item being available at clearance would impact a set that much, but I wonder if that was the case with the sail barge. I know I bought it at $49. And that immediately devalues the set in my eyes. The end user who wants the set a year from now won't ever know it was $49 so it shouldn't impact them and their perception of the sets value. It will be very interesting to me if the Star Destroyer surpasses the AtAts value considering its a bigger set with more figures.

  41. A new Death Star, regardless of size, will only help the 10188 IMO. This set, once retired, will be one of the safer investment choices in the LEGO Investing Universe. The new version will be completely different, with new characters, diorama scenes and build quality. People will want the new one and "old" one(s).

  42. I would think he is a Reseller as that is minor shelfwear. This is exactly my point - only the Resellers care about the minor shelfwear. It can cause a lot of problems for everyone involved and I don't like it. I do respect Collectors who want a Mint box, but Mint kit box cost extra money to pack and ship to arrive in minty condition. If you want quality as a Collector then you pay a higher price and should expect better condition and packaging. If you are a Reseller hiding behind the guise of an average end Consumer and asking questions like "Are all 10 of these in mint condition?" and then try to negotiate a sales deal and the cheapest shipping possible, and then file a claim when one or more of the 10 items you bought arrives with shelfwear or shipping damage then I have little tolerance for these Reselller types. I think it is bad form. Incidental damage or small shelfwear is part of moving in quantity to resell.

  43. It could just be one of those sets that falls between 2 stools. Too expensive for the Ninjago kids and too Ninjago for many AFOLS. It may not have the same 'must buy regardless' factor of a modular or a UCS SW set. If it was to retire early due to slow sales, and remained the only large , expensive Ninjago set for the foreseeable future, then it could do quite well post EOL.

  44. Paypal tweeted a promo code for %15 off at toysrus.ca TODAY ONLY when you checkout with paypal and use promo code "toysrus.ca". However the site says PP2015 is the code. I have yet to try it or read the fine print. Edit: Doesn't seem to work with just exclusives. However if you throw a normal LEGO item into the cart like a Mixel; the code applies to both.
