I want to make a blog post that summarizes the Black Friday deals. A lot of the talk is going on in the Daily Deals thread, and we will try to bring deals over into the content here so that it is easy to see what might be out there. The reason I turned the summary into a blog is because for any comments, the deals are on each page and there will not need to be searching back 10 pages to see what was missed. This list will be available all the time. I am hunting through the Daily Deal thread to find the deals, so you will continue to see this update. BLACK FRIDAY LEGO SHOP @ HOME DEALS - A list of everything on sale @ LEGO starting tonight at 12am EST LEGO: DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League $6.00 LEGO City Police 60044 Mobile Police Unit 31% Off $30.99 LEGO Movie 70815 Super Secret Police Dropship Building Set 31% Off $55.00 Imperial Assault Carrier 75106-1 26% Off $55.00 Star Wars Order Special Forces TIE Fighter 75101 http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Special-Forces-Fighter-Building/dp/B00WHYTQXE/ Bike Shop live at Target http://www.target.com/p/lego-creator-bike-shop-cafe-31026/-/A-15276992#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=lego+bike+shop Arctic Base Camp http://www.target.com/p/lego-city-arctic-basecamp-60036/-/A-15409367#prodSlot=medium_1_9&term=lego+arctic+base Police Dropship http://www.target.com/p/the-lego-movie-super-secret-police-dropship-70815/-/A-15282721#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=lego+police+dropship The Lego Movie (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet Combo Pack) - Target Exclusive http://goto.target.com/c/65738/81938/2092?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.target.com%2Fp%2Fthe-lego-movie-blu-ray-dvd-digital-hd-ultraviolet-combo-pack-target-exclusive%2F-%2FA-50010679 LEGO Dimensions Start Packs LEGO Classic LEGO Large Creative Box, 10697 LEGO DUPLO My First LEGO DUPLO Large Creative Box, 10622 LEGO Jurassic World Video Game (XBox One, PS4, Wii U) $25 LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (PS3, XBox 360) $8.00 LEGO: Marvel Pirates of the Caribbean (Xbox 360) $8.00 Yes, they labeled it as “Marvel Pirates of the Caribbean” LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes (PS3, Wii U) $8.00 The LEGO Movie: The Videogame (PS4, XBox 360) $25.00 LEGO Batman (Wii) $8.00 LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack (XBox 360) $79.99 http://yoyo.7eer.net/c/65738/83484/2056?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yoyo.com%2Fsearch%3Frf-YoyoPromo%3DBFLEGO Code: BFLEGO Max discount: $50 The coupon can be used on MULTIPLE orders Don't forget about the 30% Ultra Agents at TRU...Some really nice sets there. Free advice (worth what you paid for it): Most sets at the Lego store can be found cheaper at other retailers and the real reasons for shopping at a physical store are exclusives, advance sales, and promotions such as: buy a keychain, get a free polybag!. The Lego Store does not offer regular 20% off deals (or better) and almost every regularly available set will see at least a 20% discount during its shelf life. Amazon, Target, Walmart, and TRU (if you live near one) and great options and then there are regional chains as well such as Meijer's. Some exceptions to this idea include hard to find sets (Jurassic World) and store exclusives (eg. Target exclusives) From a resale standpoint - one set from Amazon means 1 pre-packaged set ready for sale, just take pictures of it and tape it back up. One set from Target means 1LB of air bubbles for future use, etc. etc.3 points

For those of you that use the Stock Tracker Alerts system, I would like to ask if you can try out a feature I am working on for doing Browser Notifications. Right now this is for Chrome and Safari Browsers. Firefox is in beta and will be available in a few weeks. IE or whatever it is called will be after that. The alerts will show up even if you are not on the Brickpicker site. Please visit this link: https://www.brickpicker.com/brickwatcher/lego-stock-checker-roost-push-notifications.cfm If you are logged in you will be prompted to allow notifications, please make sure you hit the 'Allow' button. Please then go through all of your alerts again and set each one. This will reset everything so that browser alerts may start to come. Please let me know how it works for you. If you need to make change please refer to the link above. The regular stock tracker page will not set everything like this one. It is important to make sure that the Browser Notification Checkbox is checked as well. You get there by clicking the RED Setup Button2 points

This sounds like too many different sets being sold at one time by Lego. This might be the time to switch your focus from overhoarded, overproduced, not-so-exclusive exclusives to regular sets. The lifespans on regular sets are shrinking while exclusives are lengthening.2 points

I actually saw 4 Raptor Escapes at the LEGO Store the other day. I left them alone, since the day before I picked up 10 more RE at Wal-Marts on my way to Columbus. I did see a couple little Jimmy's checking out with their RE's in tow while I was there, so it felt like I was releasing a couple more into the wild.2 points

You know BF sucks when the old Ecto will do as well as Delorean debate derails the thread! I wonder which on sale set will sell out first - tempted to go for the Mini.1 point

In the last, the vast majority of sets retired on a fairly predictable schedule. Now Lego is unpredictable. Most think the driving force is global sales (and contract terms for licensed stuff) . Main problem is that folks starting buying up huge amount of slowing sets that prob gives Lego a false indicator that some sets are good sellers with consumers. Town Hall retired after only 2 years because it was a slow seller and the hoard didn't have time to stock up on it (thinking they could do it in another year).1 point

I just checked the LEGO Shop at Home site too. No Series 2! Wow that would be nice for me, 2 weeks ago Toys r us had the deal buy 6 for 10 Euros. I bought 2 sealed boxes, each box for 100 Euro. (retail price: 180)1 point

I found 20 of the trees in a target yesterday. I bought three (Actually the cashier gave me one for free because she thought any Lego purchase qualified so she wrung up a discount) . I bought only three and thought of this thread when I bought them. I gave one to my daughter to put together and the other two are being stuck away. I understand the QFLLs on this set but I just didn't see any reason to buy more than a couple for personal use and long term holds. At $3.49 I am not expecting a huge gain as there is nothing special in the set except my daughters smile when we set it next to the turkey I have on the mantle. Yes it is the Lego turkey we put up for Thanksgiving. These are still to be had in the wild and I don't think the QFLL's are making a fortune QFing these.1 point

I'll pay to see that video! On topic of the video...If Clutch would have explained to people that the part out value for a few of the Speed Champions is double the MSRP, maybe people (including myself) would have understood why he was "swooping" up the sets. To be fair to him, the video was kind of taken out of context and people who usually view his videos probably expect this sort of behaviour. Like him or not, he does offer some useful tips to people who part out sets and even to those who resell.1 point

I just think it's ridiculous to bang up Lego. I wouldn't want to get them after that. Nor would I want to offer something like that to people. Maybe I'm just too old to understand those kinds of antics... Respect the Lego...1 point

The email title they sent out says starts tonight but it also says it starts November 27 so I'm really not sure. They might have sent out the mass emails a day too early?1 point

When you put your personality out there on YouTube for all to see, you lose the ability to control who says what about you and your antics. Besides, most people were mocking his "swooshing" of sets into a cart and not him directly... He shows no class when he does that and that will irk many people in or out of these forums.1 point

Many is a loose term, but I highly doubt that there are very many people who average $2,000 per week on LEGO sets over a year. They definitely exist, but they aren't on this forum trying to figure out what to buy.1 point

I am more than a little dissapointed that respected members here seem to think that Clutch from BricksOnTheDollar is some kind of fool or full of crap. He runs a successful mid to large range Bricklink Store, spending on average $2000 a month on lego and has steadily grown his store over the last few years into a small warehouse. He has many subscribers and has put out way over 100 videos alone where anyone can ask questions about Bricklink and how to's etc etc He is a very well respected You Tuber and has helped alot of people come out of their Dark Ages and enjoy Lego and start to make a bit of extra cash buying and selling. Keep negative personal opinions of someones personality off this forum, let those thousands who watch his videos enjoy them for what they are . If you dont like him switch off!!!1 point

IMO it was the fun AND sophistication that appealed to the girls. In my mind Jungle and Popstar was a dumbing down and regression of the theme. I think they should have built on what they had and it would have also been a great opportunity for some nice large detailed sets that would most likely never be added to the modular line (library, museum, art gallery, hospital etc). Just my opinion.1 point

I think any of the animals will be good. IMO, I think that whole Kardashian line they have is gonna be a fail too. Because people really have limo's & airplanes...1 point

FYI got my Sea Cow from Target in perfect condition even though the box had enough empty space for another SC, lucky....1 point

Got one with the recent deal with that free Serpent thingie set. This set is blimmin' GORGEOUS. The details, the building techniques... this deserves to be more popular than the modular buildings, all other things equal.1 point

That's great news. Times two! The later than expected dolphin retirement was a pain. Metalbeard will be interesting to see his price action. First exclusive where the opinions were very varied.1 point

Avg build but some good parts for MOCing and the PF´s come in handy too. Really the crane is the one that will disappear first so for the others there is time. Another tip for investing is avoid the sets that are stocked in large supermarkets and non specialist toy shops as these always stay on the shelves for ages - e.g. 42000, 42029.1 point
-
You could probably double your money invested/lost if you could find enough people to bet against this being a scam.1 point

True, but many retail stores have stocked the Hobbit sets sparingly and with the movies behind us I can see even more clearing out their inventory or reducing shelf space by summer. I can see LEGO selling through this theme before the end of 2015 with limited opportunities to get this last wave at a discount unless you catch them on clearance or LEGO puts them on sale at the end. All of this is speculation of course but I do not see a lot of retailer interest in holding a spot for this theme that is moving into the rear view mirror in regards to it's media presence, other than the brief Blu-ray/DVD release in the Spring.1 point
