So when will TRU realize that resellers are the the ones keeping them afloat (barely) 10 months out of the year ?4 points
-
logged into TRU rewards to check if I had any rewards and got the "You have been identified as a reseller" pop up window. All balances 0'd out kind of funny as I hardly go there. Last order placed online was 6 months ago for Gallimimus traps. Don't truth, don't stack coupons or anything. Just shows you how random there systems are. Guess me and Geoffrey aren't friends anymore4 points

Well you probably paid around 425 after tax. To ship it fully insured will be around 45 bucks so you need 470, then if you use paypal that's another 7 bucks, so 477, then ebay so, around 525. I'll assume you have a good sturdy box, and bubble wrap at a cheap if not free source. If not, more $$$. So knowing that, you need to get 525 to break even, and that doesnt account for your time, effort, and hoping the buyer doesnt send it back, or open it, take out the figures and send it back for full refund with Item not as described. Of course there's always Craigslist, but if you're in Jersey, bring a gun. So that's an extra 5 bills (plus ammo) WELCOME TO BRICKPICKER!!!!!!!!!4 points

Sold my last King's Castle 70404 on Amazon for $212 shipped. Unfortunately it's going to WA from OH so shipping will bite me in the you know what. Still a nice return on a $50 investment from the BOGO 40% off Amazon sale back in May 2014.4 points

Was going to ask for the ToA for Christmas from my GF but this deal is too good to pass up! I have a friend willing to trade two Hulkbuster sets for the Enter the Serpent set and I'll be donating them to Toys for Tots.3 points

"Use the force!" (I taught him everything ;-) ) And I agree to jeff_14 that the abilities of the ghosts seem to be fairly limited. Otherwise Qui-Gon would run around all time long, drinking coffee, peeping, 'n stuff. Also I think that the ghosts are beyond and don't want to interfere too much in matters that no longer concern them. Kylo Ren is probably the illegitimate son of Palpatine. I mean seriously wouldn't that be fun? ;-) (Some imperial officer (female!) "yeah you know... this one night stand 20 years ago... with that creepy old dude... well turns out 'twas the emperor... here you go, now you know who your father was... and eh... by the way... Luke Skywalker killed him!")3 points

Via Brick Fan LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu (70751) In-Store Promo Tomorrow Here’s something that I’ve don’t think I’ve seen yet online. I was visiting the store today and I was told about a promotion that will be happening starting tomorrow and lasting through Sunday for some LEGO Ninjago sets. When you purchase the Temple of Airjitzu (70751), you will be getting the Enter the Serpent (70749) set for FREE. Yes, you heard that right. If you’ve been holding off on getting the Temple of Airjitzu, tomorrow is a great time to pick it up especially when you’ll also be getting a $60 set for free. I’m not sure if other stores around the US will have the same in-store promo but mine will be happening at the Fashion Valley location for one day only. You may want to call your store and double check if they do or not. I do not believe this promo will be happening online but I’ll check tomorrow and see.3 points

Below is a screenshot of Black Friday deal that Toys R Us is offering this year. Nothing wrong with getting 30% off any set. I personally like the Ultra Agents theme. The 70173: Ultra Agents Ocean HQ is a really slick looking boat and if you can grab that for $70, not a bad considering it is sold out right now on LEGO S@H. View full blog article2 points

I am sitting in the cherry hill mall parking lot (grand opening today) I was not planning on getting a Death Star, I was not expecting them (or any store) to have a Death Star. When I walked in and saw one sitting on the shelf though... Well, now I have a Death Star. I didn't even research this thing ::irresponsible:: but I did know I either bought it or someone else would (probably in the 45 minutes after the store opened) So now what do I do with it? (I've started reading the book that is this thread, but I don't have all weekend to read it) Can I make any money on it this season, or do I have to sit on it endlessly, waiting (like everyone else) for it to retire? Sorry for being a total noob on this one. Also my seals match those posted above, 40R52 points

I hear they are considering changing the name of the series to Clone Wars: The Rebels Squad My son started watching Clone Wars 2 weeks ago and likes it. Still likes Rebels so much better since OT ships and people are in it. I guess he can relate to it. When we watched the last Rebels episode, he noticed the B-Wing which was surprising since he's only 6 and the ship wasn't featured much in ROTJ. I do think parents around my age (watching Rebels with their kids) are relating to Rebels much more than The Clone Wars. This can only help OT Lego demand by younger kids. now will 10227 demand be helped by kids. Prob not but i do think more AFOLs might give the set another look before ignoring ones for sale2 points

More info revealed. http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/632387-j-j-abrams-talks-luke-skywalkers-mythic-status-in-star-wars-the-force-awakens#/slide/1 J.J. Abrams opens up about Luke Skywalker’s status in Star Wars: The Force Awakens We’ve heard a lot about the characters of Star Wars: The Force Awakens these past few days, but there’s one that has been on everyone’s mind given his lack of appearances in the marketing so far – Luke Skywalker. Speaking with EW, director J.J. Abrams opened up about how Luke’s path in the context of the film was a big draw for him to direct, namely how everyone else in the movie sees Luke. “It was the thing that struck me the hardest, which was the idea that doing a story that took place nearly 40 years after Jedi meant that there would be a generation for whom Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia would be as good as myth,” Abrams says. “They’d be as old and as mythic as the tale of King Arthur. They would be characters who they may have heard of, but maybe not. They’d be characters who they might believe existed, or just sounded like a fairy tale.” He goes on to use Daisy Ridley’s Rey as an example, what would a scavenger that lives along on a desolate planet think of the man the helped bring down the Empire all those decades ago? “To someone who is living alone and struggling without a formal education or support system, who knows what that person in the literal middle of nowhere would have ever heard about any of these things, or would ever know, and how much that person would have to infer and piece together on their own,” Abrams says. “So the idea that someone like that would begin to learn that the Jedi were real, and that the Force exists, and that there’s a power in the universe that sounds fanciful but is actually possible, was an incredibly intriguing notion.” As revealed earlier this week, John Boyega’s Finn knows very well who Luke Skywalker is thanks to his Stormtrooper training, but the journey of the film is what will make him potentially change his mind, especially after he gets a hold of Luke’s original lightsaber. “For Finn, he’s been raised from the ashes of the Empire,” says Boyega. “He’s been taught about Luke Skywalker, he knows about his history. For him it’s like joining the army and then learning about one of the great enemies of your country. It has that effect on him. But in terms of the Force, and the magical stuff that happens, that is the point where Finn kind of questions what is what. What is the Force, what part does Luke Skywalker play in all of this?”2 points

I think there was another thread, but not sure where it is so I will post here since it is still relevant. Got the book today and it is honestly it was beyond my expectations. This thing is a real book with awesome sets. I haven't read everything, but I find myself skimming and reading, skimming and reading. So many sets I never thought about or totally missed. Great job guys, if you didn't pick it up, you should. I would of thought that hundreds if not thousands of Brickpickers would have purchased this and been talking about it.1 point

thats one sexy Geoffrey could be, but with purchases that low not sure what one would be reselling. Think it would be more automated though of something that sets it off. If they look back to last year then I could understand as easily spent 15-20k last Oct. Just have different sources now and don't use them much anymore. Plus one of the 2 good ones closed here leaving the crappier one so that is another reason for decline in purchases from them.1 point

It's not the most difficult, but there are plenty of sets that just don't work for me, nor do I like everything Lego puts out. And honestly, most normal people, that don't nitpick every single bit of detail, are perfectly fine with what Lego puts out. I mean, if you want a 8,000+ piece movie accurate model, then that's fine, but you do realize this is Lego, a toy set? I wouldn't say gullible at all. It's just a matter of it's a nice looking set. Sure it has it's annoyances, but it's not going to stop the normal customer from shelling out the money for a set like this. No matter how you skin the cat, you can literally pick apart every single Lego set for not being movie accurate, or not being exactly to scale/dimensional. And besides, I can't recall the number of times you big investors just poo-poo a lot of sets, but once imminent retirement comes, you all scramble to gobble up as much as you can. Even if some of you may not admit it. KCCO people, it's just a Lego set.1 point
