At 7:28 AM EST, member 8lackmagic from the United Kingdom registered on our site and became our 50,000th activated member!!!! Brickpicker is also celebrating it's 4th year in existence which is exciting in itself. To know that we have been able to register 50,000 members in those four years is an accomplishment that I didn't think would honestly ever happened if you asked me a few years back. It's been amazing to see all the things that have happened over these past four years... 50k members, a book that has been published and just released with a second one in the works and we finally released our marketplace Brick Classifieds that offers ZERO selling fees and continues to gain traction more and more on a daily basis. Ed and I may not get everything right, but we do keep trying to bring new features to the LEGO community. We try to be a little different than the rest of the LEGO communities. This year, the #1 task will be to bring you major enhancements to the Brickfolio feature, something that has been long overdue. We also have a few other features that you will hear about in the not so distant future that can be a major impact for the members of this site and their shopping habits. In the end Ed and I would just like to say thank you for all your support of the site. We really love the community that Brickpicker has become and look forward to seeing where it will go!! Follow up to my emotional rant. I did some digging on some law enforcement sites and did the following: - Called the police department in which the buyer lived - they refused to help and told me to use my local law enforcement - Filed a police report at my local Sherrif's station. - Filed a complaint on USPS Mail Fraud website and noted the police report number - Filed a complaint with ic3.gov (noting police report and USPS case numbers) which is the public access handle for FBI to catch internet crimes I called up Paypal and the customer service agent basically told me too bad so sad. I asked to speak to a supervisor and told him about the 3 reports I filed and he returned my money within 33 seconds of speaking to me and apologized for the headache and agreed to look at the buyer's account for fraudulent activity. For those of you who got your money back but still feel like you were cheated because somebody is walking out there with your TH or HH - consider spending the 1-2 hours that it takes to do the above. Yes it's a pain but if the names/addresses are not added to the database ic3.gov tracks then they can't build a history. These crooks think their quite smart because they're able to jump on unsecured wifi and place orders with stolen CCs - but sooner or later they'll leave a trail that can be traced back to them. Even if the buyer claims they were not part of the scam the information helps because the IP addresses, emails, aliases and cities are tracked.6 points

Huw over at Brickset just posted a great review of the book. http://brickset.com/article/17591/The-Ultimate-Guide-to-Collectable-LEGO-sets We shipped him out a review copy and I know I am very happy that he liked the book. Huw knows his LEGO and I have met him on a few occasions. He loves LEGO and is very serious about it and his site which is why it is the most popular LEGO site out there. Getting a nod of approval from him means a lot to me.4 points

And another one at mytoys.de http://www.mytoys.de/LEGO-LEGO-10245-Creator-Weihnachtliche-Werkstatt/LEGO-Creator/LEGO/KID/de-mt.to.br01.21.06/4047432 Todays there's 15% off all Lego Creator. Nothing so extremly special at all but wait there's more For example the 10245 SW is already down 14% + 15% today, and you'll get another 5€ discount (Newsletter Coupon) or the 10€ discount for new Customers with the Code I posted above. So in total: 10245 SW RRP 69,99€ goes down to 43,94€ included Shipping (-37% in total).4 points

The holiday season is here and the end of 2015 is nearing. What does this mean? They need to make room for 2016 sets!!! Right now the stock tracker is keeping close tabs on nearly 30 sets that have an opportunity of saying goodbye for good, or may be hard to get due to demand. Since I started tracking the alerts that are sent out back in August, we have sent out more than 350,000 SMS messages trying to tell you that something is in stock. I just added the following sets to the tracker. 42008-1: Service Truck 42009-1: Mobile Crane MK II 42030-1: Volvo L350F Wheel Loader 75052-1: Mos Eisley Cantina 75054-1: AT-AT 75055-1: Imperial Star Destroyer 75097-1: Star Wars Advent Calendar Feel free to leave other sets that you are think may be hot holiday items or at risk of disappearing and we can add them to tracker. If you have not started using the tracker and having a hard time ordering sets from online retailers, start using it now. In case you don't know what the tracker is, here is a little bit about it. It is a service that pings the major LEGO retailers such as LEGO Shop @ Home (in many global markets, not just USA), Target, Walmart, Toys R US and Global Amazon Sites You can sign up to be alerted by Text Message Alerts, Email and Desktop Notifications You need to be a Brickpicker Member. As an aside, for those of you that 'don't have faith in the JW sets', eBay just listed 9 toys that you can sell without commission right now. 6 of the items were LEGO sets. 3 of those were JW. Wall-e IR Pteradon Capture TOO EEE Dilophosaurus ambush2 points

So, have you built it already? And what is your impression of this set? Has your opinion of it changed after you've built it? Ok I give it to my lady. She is not a big lego person. But she love it. Super on display.2 points

All new sets with one of my regular buyers. Since no fees and he's one of my best buyers, I gave him below market for each set. Ended up clearing 65% profit over the prices paid after giving free postage. Need to buy more 26x26x26 boxes. These ULine double strength boxes are 100% awesomeness. 8 = 6860 Batcave 14 = 21013 BTTF DeLorean 6 = 79111Lone Ranger Trains2 points

At this pricepoint, they should include a risk leaflet marked as high risk investment. Cause there are too many prayers needed.2 points

For everyone who is saying that it is an absolute certainty that the release of a new ISD is imminent, you should remember that there was no way in hell that TLG would ever retire the Haunted House before Halloween last year and that it was absolutely unthinkable that TLG would retire the SSD before the new SW movie came out. Point is...be careful of following conventional wisdow, it's often wrong. This is not a set I would pass on (and I haven't).2 points

I am very impressed by the book's graphics and visuals - they are really done well and keeps the book fresh and engaging. Even though every page included sets I knew, the graphics kept me wanting to page forward just one more page...frankly, it was hard to put down.2 points

Considering the high amount of amazingly intricate mechanical details Technic provides (and the number of pieces needed to pull this off), I'm surprised there are not more in the few hundred dollar range on average. They may not be my main interest of personal building but holy cow is the theme in its entirety most impressive. When a toy car can have almost as many bells & whistles as an actual one, yeah I'm gonna take notice.2 points

The 7965 is now hovering anywhere from 180 to 220. It's about 20 below the peak it hit back in the summer, and even the 9493 x-wings have seemed to have started to decline from their peak just over 150.. The bigger difference between then and now is that the amount of hoarding going on today is probably double what it was a year ago, and it's to the point where if you have a limited window to flip then you are more than likely going to have a lot more competition to do so during that limited time period. I also am in agreement with Freakchem that this one will see a new update either for the summer wave of 2016, or for the Force Friday even next September for Rogue One (i'm guessing it will go like that). So I think prices will shoot up to maybe a bit over 200 and that's if the stock diminishes within the next few months, but I doubt it hits falcon prices. Vader is currently available in the jedi duel, so the OT minifigs in this set are perhaps the only thing that might sell this set, and there's just not a lot of extra added incentive, if the ship is similar down the line. At one point last month, I was all in on this set, but lately, i've stepped back, because I have this feeling it won't turn out like I hope. Already it has over a few hundred resellers and seems to be increasing in numbers daily. I bet we see over 200 resellers by years end… and then lots of scrapping for the buy box, and lots of scrapping for the low end, and i'm not so sure it will provide glorious returns unless you bought in at 80 to 90… and I've played that game for a while, and it wasn't easy collecting a bunch of them at that price.2 points

$5.49 shipping credit. 15% fee. So assuming he shipped to a neaby zone. He probably walked away with +/- $23 profit.1 point

Perhaps the removal of this set from walmart.ca was no coincidence then. Maybe Canadian walmarts aren't slated to get any new RE stock, even after Christmas. I know US walmarts are seeing 43R5 stock, but I haven't seen/heard of any Canadians pulling from those runs...1 point

That's what I was thinking too. I mean they already have some rights obviously... If they do something in the spirit of the scooby doo theme it might even work. On the other hand the Ghostbuster minifigs would become as unrare as it gets ;-) (Not that LEGO would bother). Still I doubt that they'd bring out a new theme just for the ghostbusters... but I probably wouldn't say no ^.^ AS COLLECTOR that is! For the theme as investment I'd stay carefully sceptical1 point
