Don't mind at all. I purchased lot from a fellow Brickpicker back in February/March. Consisted of 250+ lbs. He had done some initial sorting, but finishing that and washing all the parts took about a month. I have been ordering parts as I go, inventorying about a dozen sets or so going by theme.(Had over 100 sets in it from 2005-2009 timeframe) Overall, I'm sure I've made minimum wage due to that hours put in sorting, but was able to keep some really cool sets like an Emerald Night, Motorized AT/AT, 7993 Service Station I've wanted for a long time, random figures, etc. etc. Between what I kept and sold/end up selling(have about a dozen left), I'll make a few thousand profit on a few thousand investment. Was hoping to double my money and I'll be darn close to doing it. This takes into account parts ordered, but not time or anything as I don't lose normal income due to working on this. I've kept a spreadsheet just for this lot to see how it goes. I'll also be taking a long break from doing this again as well.6 points

"Americans" come in all shapes, sizes, and types... and personally, I like it when someone politely and professionally explains him/herself. I wouldn't still post here on BP if the mods didn't keep things civil and lite and the patrons didn't show at least a modest amount of respect for each other. For the record, I'm a huge GB fan, but I won't be going big on this for investment. Yet. Lets see what demand actually looks like once it's available and TLG's future for the line. Case in point regarding "civil and lite."3 points

I was never interested in Ninjago, but they have really ramped up the designs lately. Temple of Airjitsu is gorgeous. And I've been eyeing FFoDB for the last few weeks. This is really well done. It has a dragon, it's a boat. It fits into an Eastern theme. There are a lot of potential wins for this set.2 points

The ships display very well without the mini figs, it's worth picking up a set of sails for BP. For a long time I had only two sets displayed in my house, QAR and BP. They go together very nicely. For $85 you did well, even without the minifigures.2 points

To answer your question I feel like the delivery of your product in the quality of the box the thickness the tape the label and how it is packaged and is what defines you as a seller it is the initial presentation to your client for their impression of you as a seller. Therefore you should invest heavily into the presentation. I am not saying bubble wrap and box every item but you should have paper stuffing carefully protect the item place it in a durable box that is new and not used and ship it to your customer. If you do enough volume it will be worth the expense long term and gained sales in my opinion. Box yes paper stuffing yes bubble wrap highly valued items. Hope this helps ...2 points

You really want to send someone a sealed set this way? Have you ever ordered a set online?2 points

I believe the expert would tell you that the Ghostbusters HQ set checks off all the boxes... HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE set....HUGE! Large amount of exclusive minifigures Excellent display piece Excellent play piece Low chance of being reissued Unique...Did I say unique? New movie to stir up interest from young fans...Plus a classic old movie to attract old fans. Can work with other Modulars from the looks of it...Big bonus if it does. Big Box...Big boxes sell! Works with the Ecto-1...Home run!2 points

I had to dig up my response to an older thread regarding the 42039... I think I still stand by it being more of a niche set that may do better in Europe/Asia than the USA. Will be interesting to see what happens. "Now, I am a n00b when it comes to this investing and thingie so take it with a grain of salt but I would imagine many petrolheads and racing fans will love having this huge thing; I see it becoming somewhat sought after, possibly more in Europe and Asia than the United States as endurance racing/WEC has higher profile over there. The endurance racing scene in the USA with the TUSC rigmarole and the hideous DP cars may make a difference IMHO in how broad its appeal would be. Perhaps it will be a niche set compared to the 2015 crawler crane and big M.B. lorry (which I will find hard to resist)."1 point

Cosmic Boy is going to be a polybag Should pair nicely with the Lightning Lad that's coming in a cube from Target at some point. Now we just need Saturn Girl to complete the original three of the Legion of Super-Heroes.1 point

All done! I might add some more surface area to it eventually as it looks a tad small in the detolf, but overall very happy with it. As anyone with a Detolf case knows; there is a hole in the top to allow a single light to mount there. I don't use a light in this socket, so it was perfect to mount GlaDOS to. Below is my very simple mounting mechanism haha: And then these gals hide the axle1 point

Nope that was me being me: Being polite enough. I'm not somebody who wants to bully anyone and if you felt bullied or treated in a mean stupid way and it's my fault then I think there is nothing wrong with taking a step back. "I would have had more respect for you if you just ignored me". Well I do not care how much respect you got for me or anybody, but if that's the case you should overthink your attitude I'd say. If your 1999 is a hint at your actual age then you'll probably have time enough. P.S. This officially ends this discussion for me now. I'd like to see this thread getting back on track again. Feel free to pm if you want to add anything.1 point

brotha, dont even sweat it out on this lot ... you made a good choice in getting these for dirt cheap ... sell of the rest and you will have the two ships for free and some more cash to complete the ships if need be ... im in the same boat as you as ive pieced together BP and QAR from lots and have completed them without the minifigs. ive yet to build them but ive completed the sets using bricklink ... FYI, the podracers are an excellent build and display very nicely ...too bad that doesnt reflect how theyre doing on the aftermarket but the podracers are really nice Episode 1 sets! goodluck ...1 point

I honestly think the resale value might be OK because it's a classic FDNY station. Take the GB stuff off of it and the Firebuffs will love it. Those guys are just as diehard as SW fans. I don't care very much for GB at all, but it's a pretty cool fire station. There are huge followings of people with huge lego fire departments and they will love this.1 point

those sub categories of an insane amount of options did suck this same argument is another that comes up a lot. The whole new for used, set or part of a set. A big part still falls on ebay for never adding a "new other" option like just about every other main category. The fact that certain categories have totally different sub categories makes no sense to begin with. Toys you get new and used. Jewelry you get new with tags, new without tags, new with defects, and preowned. Household items get New , New other, seller refurbished, manufacturer refurbished, used and for parts not working. The fact that there are so many options for some categories and hardly any for some does not make much sense and they have had years to ad them but never do. Then they said you can't use "like new" for items they are either new or used yet still have the like new condition for video games. So go figure. The argument will always be there whether its new or used but more conditions would help. The argument with set vs figure is kind of silly and could just be in LEGO to begin with. If you sell the figs from say a MF versus selling the MF they both come from a set. Most people put xxx minifigure from 7965 or whatever so not sure that really matters to begin with.1 point

I just completed my Bricklink'd Bat-pod. After all said and done, cost was ~$120 incl. shipping. I already sold the extra tires I bought from Bricks and Pieces and made up some of the cost. I plan on building this live tonight on Twitch. I will probably start around 8pm (Pacific Time). This will look nice with my Tumbler, although the Bat-Pod is roughly the same length. Disagreeing is not the problem, the way how a person does is. There is a difference between saying "This is not my thing" to "This is dumb and so are the people who made this garbage". (The gist from that latter statement is one I'm used to reading for every original theme LEGO has released lately between Ninjago to now Nexo Knights from this community.) Internet simply reflects real life only in a digital 'faceless' fashion, these squabbles involving some facet of fandom happen all the time. Perhaps not as much as a discussion of politics, finances, and religion, (three agendas you learn to never talk about if you wish to keep any friends) but still there.1 point

You guys asked, and you shall receive. These were taken a couple of months ago, and I don't actually happen to have all the sets. Missing is the Imperial Shuttle, Ewok Village, and some winter village sets. Oh and detectives office is missing as well because it was destroyed by our friend's kid and had to be put back together which it was.1 point
