It's my favorite as well. GG held that spot until I built it as well. Looks like your Lego town has a dinosaur problem.3 points

I'd say another substantial problem for the EU horde is that the average living space here is a lot smaller than in the united states. For me the room is more a problem than the money.3 points

LIAR!!!! There is NOTHING good about the new Toy Shop!!! You focus on that and not the Pickleyboy?3 points

For all of you in south central NJ and the Philly suburbs, a new LEGO store will be opening in the Cherry Hill Mall. Finally I get a LEGO store 20 minutes from my house. Might look to get a job there!2 points

Still available on US site, and the last two seasonal vignettes are up. Limit 5 each. No more double VIP, but the train still makes it an excellent deal.2 points

They're both good movies, but I don't consider either one of them cult. They were both super popular hits when released. Sure there is a cult following of these movies, but the movie itself I wouldn't consider cult. That's like saying every Marvel movie about an Avengers character is cult because there certainly is a strong cult following for each. This is all just pop culture. BTTF and GB are big pop culture movies of the 80s.2 points

Everyone seems to be getting upset over a set that we don't even have all the details on. Everyone needs to wait for the entire set to be revealed before passing judgment.2 points

Lego's market research must have shown that ghostbuster fans are rabid, hostile, and have large amounts of disposeable income, yet do not like flashy exterior buildings:)2 points

I used this example to my wife a week ago. She has been watching all the Star Wars stuff online recently and she said, "I'm getting really excited for this movie." I told her that 16 years ago I went through the same thing, then I saw what was delivered. I am not a prequel hater, but it failed to meet expectations. Heck, after Phantom Menace, I figured they'd just get better, but then I saw Attack of the Clones and felt renewed disappointment. So, I am attempting to tone down my excitement level, except I have 2 little girls and a wife that have never seen Star Wars in a theater. The whole house is getting excited. Halloween they are Rey and Phasma, and I cannot help but feel like the dad in that new Toys R Us commercial.2 points

Reseller scum is soooo 2015, i think 2016 should be the year of the greedy prick.2 points

I can see why people are like meh - It's a sort of boring looking building to begin with but when you look at it, its an EXACT replica of the building in the motion picture which is why it has appeal. How wide that appeal is uncertain but with the price point comes scarcity and with scarcity comes profit following EOL. Plus I'm imaging a really cool interior. As Ed pointed out earlier, at the price point, the interior better be real and spectacular. I think this is going to make the Fire Brigade look like a "Bike Shop" size creator set when placed in proximity to each other. I think it is a mistake looking at this from an investing perspective as purely a "Ghostbusters" themed set. This is going to be the largest modular type building to date and guessing a shorter life span whether or not it is a big seller which i tend to doubt it will be. post EOL even non-Ghostbuster modular building fans will want this.2 points

You guys asked, and you shall receive. These were taken a couple of months ago, and I don't actually happen to have all the sets. Missing is the Imperial Shuttle, Ewok Village, and some winter village sets. Oh and detectives office is missing as well because it was destroyed by our friend's kid and had to be put back together which it was.2 points

I think to a few people, it's more like, "WOW, LEGO wasted a 4600 piece set on a big red rectangle!" LOL2 points

Built the ferris wheel with my 5 year old daughter. She almost did the whole thing. I am looking forward to stocking this one 30-40 deep or so when the time comes. Great set and I hope they continue the theme.1 point

I'm on a trip to UK so sent the wife to local TRU back in the US to grab a couple C-3PO polybags for the personal collection, they had them all behind the service desk and refusing to sell them outright. On the bright side found TFA First Order TIE polybag at the UK Legoland.1 point

In real life, Ghostbusters is a non issue. STAR WARS on the other hand...1 point

15 for the poster seems way off based on completed sales of all the others. This thing probably nets you a few bucks after fees and shipping once they hit eBay in any volume.1 point

now that I've seen that (especially picture 2) I guess I'll have to buy one for my own collection ^.^1 point

Halloween may be over but those kinds of builds are still fun year round. If you have a bunch of minifigures, you could try putting together some random characters for the heck of it (a kit-bash or figbarf). Perhaps try drawing a random sketch of whatever then build something to resemble it. November just started so how about a Vic Viper type of build for this year's Nnovvember building challenge.1 point

Really a good question is to which theme it will belong? At S&H side there is only the tag 'New' for this set. Therefore I assume that still LEGO itself doesn't know it. It could be a modular building, but it is a licensed one and based on an existing building. It could be a Creator model as VW or MINI are - tehre is an exisiting model behind, but a car not a building.1 point

Besides numerous Bionicle and Chima sets that I enjoyed building, there were two standouts. Rey's Speeder and Ant Man Final Battle sets. Both were creative and had some neat features. I appreciate the design of both, especially the Ant Man set with the large LEGO brick replicas.1 point

This one here really is a HIGHLIGHT! LEGO Erebor (see link: http://lego.gizmodo.com/120-000-piece-lego-erebor-is-twice-the-size-of-a-hobbit-1727100838 ) I can only guess how much bricks and time this must have consumed... The result is stunning! See even more pictures if you click the link ;-) (yes there actually IS an interior!)1 point

And on another pass through, looks like I've found it on my own. 7659 Imperial Landing Craft http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=7659-11 point

It looks like Kroger Marketplace is running their annual Holiday screw job shopping promotion. Spend enough money between now and mid November and you can get up to 30% off your marketplace purchase (which of course means 30% off LEGO. I could care less what else they sell.) Do any of the clever people here know a way to pump up your transactions? My regular Kroger purchasing will put me on track to 10% discount. They say that Gift Card Mall is excluded from contributing. Not sure if there is a loophole or anything obvious I'm overlooking. Of course, I still haven't forgiven them for 2011 when I made it a point to increase purchase volume to get a bigger bonus but did not make it a point to get there at opening hour of the redemption period and found 99% of the store wiped clean. http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2011/12/05/columbus-kroger-deals-anger-shoppers.html1 point

4x ISD and S1 Microfighters all at 45-50% off RRP. Still kicking myself for not getting any 75105´s at 60% off - they are OOS pretty much everywhere now but I focused on ISD´s as MF should be back again soon.1 point

I guess all my extra money from LEGO investing goes right back into LEGO for my own collection ^.^1 point

VERY interesting. The now is obvious, the future is useful, but the questionable statuses don't seem to be as helpful due to several statuses sharing that tag. Sold out = <li class="availability-questionable"> Retired = <li class="availability-questionable"> shouldn't it be MORE than 'questionable?' Sold out, ships in 30 days (with a button to add to cart) = <li class="availability-questionable"> Shouldn't that be LESS than questionable?"1 point

My used Ewok Village sans minifigs arrived last week. Sorted the pieces over the course of the week then built up the village on Friday night. It lasted less than 24 hours where I dismantled it and put the purchase to it's real purpose. Saw this in the MOCs thread a couple months back and fell in love with it, had to have one. I present my personal edition of the 10236 UCS Lord of the Rings Ent!1 point
