Last night and today's project. My son has been bugging me for the police dropship since it was released, so we built it last night. Lots of pieces and a good build overall. I picked up Indiana Jones 7198 - Fighter Plane Attack last week on EBay. It was advertised with a bunch of other sets and he just had a blanket statement in his listings that all sets listed at 97%-99% complete. I noticed it had all the minifigs and most of the accessories. The planes were disassembled, but I took a risk. They ended up 100% complete with the extra pieces and very clean. A real nice condition box was also included. All for $60 shipped. Pretty amazing, in just a few weeks I have all the Indiana Jones sets but a few. I'm only missing 2-3 now I think. Time to take inventory before I complete the set. The listing... The builds5 points

The Force Awakens official poster is in. Wonder what that planet looking weapon is? Hopeful not another Death Star... Still no official image of Luke Skywalker. He probably has a smaller role or maybe already decreased? not sure what's going on there. Leia is in there as well as prob that Maz character.5 points

Put together the Midieval Market Village set today. Picked this up with the intention of adding snow to the roof and adding to my winter village. Set is a lot of fun to put together and I really like the figures. I understand now why this set is often included as an honorable mention in the top Lego sets of recent memory. Very cool!5 points

Son and I spent 4 days building the Pet Shop. I never really understood the modular craze, until now. When I saw the pics that were uploaded for the brick bank, I thought it was time to at least get a pet shop before it went. So we bought it this month to have at least one in the collection. This was perhaps the most fun building experience of the many sets that we have done. The details in this set are just awesome, and this blows away all the architecture sets by a mile. I guess, we'll be ordering the other 4.. Don't think i'll be going back on the retired versions of this line, but the fire brigade sort of looks fun.5 points

Why? Because they can. You may think I'm being funny or snarky, but go back and read the Lego Ban thread. If they believe you are a reseller, or that you are abusing their system, they will ban you. You placed 14 separate orders in 2 days, trying to get that train. Yes I get that their system allowed you to do it. But the terms are 1 train per household. There are plenty of people on this board that have been banned from LEGO Shop at Home for buying within the limits. It's more than just staying within the limits - its patterns of behavior.4 points

Question: Do we have to calculate the potential profits every time it looks iffy? Answer: No, so we should stop.4 points

Longevity of an acct doesn't mean squat when you are abusing their policies. Every time you order over the limit you are dancing with the devil. I'm not a good dancer btw3 points

That are more apt to get looked at when you call. This thread should get copied to the Ban thread and stickied under lessons learned what not to do.3 points

The first thing I did when I got into LEGO investing was buy a couple of sets that were already retired that I wanted to eventually build. This included the Fire Brigade and Imperial Flagship. That decision saved me about $500 in less than a year.3 points

A polybag planned for 2016 based on the Batman Vs. Superman Batmobile I believe. This should go nice with the larger minifigure scale one also to be released.2 points

Yeah the minifigures alone are worth it and the parts are decent in the Witch-king sets. Truth is I could have bought a handful of either set for half off but I already purchased the Witch-king Battle full price when first available so $8 didn't strike me as a 'must buy' for something I bought prior. (75% off though and I'll buy anything even if I already had. Haha.) The 50% off Lake-towns certainly were tempting but I just wanted at least one to build plus I needed to watch my spending which helped later when I found a Mountain Hut half off then the Monsters Minifigures (retail). Regret not what could have been, look forward to what may be. And don't growl, you'll get wrinkles.2 points

Someone did post a file with the parts here probably 5 weeks ago but the set is inventoried on Bricklink. That would be the easiest way to get it.2 points

The alien (boy?) behind R2 reminded me of boy Anakin. I wonder if Carrie Fisher's contract contains a clause for "weird hairdos for SW movies"2 points

This isn't the tread for this but since we're talking about the HH, the only thing that's making me think this may not be a long term hold in the possibility of a Disney Haunted Mansion...2 points

I'm selling GEs now. Happy to make $100 a set and reinvest. I like to sell after the fastest growth has taken place, I think we are there. Will keep a few for the long haul. I did the same with FB and TH. Will start unloading SSDs soon too. I can't bring myself to sell any Haunted Houses for some reason though.2 points

Just want to throw this out there: 10% growth on a set you are already holding is much more desirable than 10% growth on a set you just acquired or are about to acquire.2 points

I knew he would get in a bad mood just thinking about those sets! If you want to keep happy and cheerful, avoid The Lone Ranger.2 points

Built the Deathstroke set today. Was really looking forward to getting the Deathstroke minifigure, but it was a little bit of a letdown. That said, the bat boat is pretty cool, and the Robin minifigure is awesome. Batman cowl is slick too. Very satisfied with this one.2 points

They have tried so hard (too hard) to hit every note from the OT - It seems as if most every bit of footage has been a nod to some nostalgic moment that we've already seen in SW. I certainly can understand why, but I just hope that they spent half as much time coming up with an original story, instead of just trying to check off all the boxes.1 point

1. Were they 8 orders of 1 set ? 2. Did you see an entry for Train promo on each receipt: a. when placing the order? b. under Order Status on S@H?1 point

I would venture to say that the US has had it good for a while now and that TLG are slowly trying to balance worldwide prices. 170 USD at an exchange rate of 1.12 USD/EUR brings you in line with the cheapest Eurozone prices whereas before many sets were at 1 USD / 1 EUR hence our endless moaning about preferential treatment as discounts also tend to be better over there. I think that apart from the RRP increase,it is the gradual trimmig of the latter that is making the product more expensive. However, it is supply and demand and if we benefit from it on the secondary market, TLG surely feels their product is underpriced on the new market. Perhaps when demand falls off and Lego becomes less fashionable, things will change but that would also be bad news for us. Higher new prices also make our inflated ones easier to swallow.1 point

Go to Bricklink .. search for your set by #. Then look through the parts inventory for the set to identify the piece and from there you can see what's available for sale. Or if you know the name of the piece or part #, you can just search directly for the part.1 point
