Ferrari F40. Total love-hate relationship with this car... Love: 1) the ways that Lego designers are able to create angles and shapes is absolutely astonishing. I love when I am building a section that I have no idea where it is headed until I pop it in to place. There are plenty of surprises in this build. 2) the wow factor. I gotta hand it to Lego, they have made another incredible vehicle. I was concerned what having two red cars on the shelf would look like, but the either it is a different shade of red or the red on black just pops differently than the T1 on white. It really stands out and looks beautiful. Hate: 1) the stickers. I don't necessarily hate placing stickers on Lego, but these are particular cumbersome because they are so tiny and my fingers completey covered them so I had trouble making sure it was lined up properly. I had to carefully re-lift and place far too many times. These are high-stakes too. If you want straight pinstripes or logos, you better have a steady hand. 2) fragile- I found a way to break it several times during build and my kid and I both found a way to break it after build. It is most definitely a display piece only. 3) lacking "fun" details. The T1 and especially the Mini Cooper raised the bar in regards to the extra factors such as a picnic basket, spare tire, or fan belt on engine kinda stuff. F40 has a sweet engine, but it becomes locked in with the bumper. It can be removed but should not be so tedious to do so. Also the trunk contains a container and some white case or something. Kind of blah. Also the stick to hold up the back car hood would be better attached with a ball joint or something. Overall the end result is a really cool display piece. Looks better in person than on the website and box. A great addition to the cars series, as long as you don't fiddle with it too much! I definitely recommend for build and display, but on the fence for investment some day down the road.7 points

Son and I spent 4 days building the Pet Shop. I never really understood the modular craze, until now. When I saw the pics that were uploaded for the brick bank, I thought it was time to at least get a pet shop before it went. So we bought it this month to have at least one in the collection. This was perhaps the most fun building experience of the many sets that we have done. The details in this set are just awesome, and this blows away all the architecture sets by a mile. I guess, we'll be ordering the other 4.. Don't think i'll be going back on the retired versions of this line, but the fire brigade sort of looks fun.5 points

Companies that are as successful as TLG tend to make money, not statements. PS may go or it may stay (I think it is going), but it won't be because TLG wanted to make a statement to one of the smallest slices of its consumer base (i.e., resellers).4 points

It is a give and take I am doing great on JW sets. they will be gold this Christmas in my opinion whether there is some channel supply or not. I do know many people say factor in labor. However if this is your hobby, I guess instead of working on this you could instead sit on a couch and stare at a wall and charge $0 per hour and be bored. Labor is a factor but only if this is in my opinion not your hobby and you could replace all of the time you spend on it with something at a better hourly rate. In the world today there are a great many people who would not be able to find work to replace it at a more profitable rate while also being a hobby... not directed at you but something that has been on my mind when multiple people have said on BP to factor your labor costs in ... yes factor them in but also factor them against multiple variables3 points

This is a great article and video posted on the home page here at BP (from the Brick Blogger): http://thebrickblogger.com/2015/10/lego-africa-first-time-playing-with-lego/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+thebrickblogger+(TheBrickBlogger) My five year-old son and I are going to send a box to this program. He is so "over-privileged" when it comes to the amount of Lego toys in our home. Watching this video makes him understand how lucky he is and it's amazing to me how much he wants to share and help kids who don't have Legos. I hope some of you will donate as well. This is guaranteed to give you lots of good karma for the upcoming holiday season. Tower of Orthanc will pop back into stock at the moment you're sitting at your computer, Death Star will retire three weeks before TFA opens, and Palace Cinema will leapfrog the Pet Shop and retire the day after Thanksgiving... All because you donated an old box of Legos to children who will love them. Now who's the winner?2 points

I agree with everything being said that also being said the demand for JW will far exceed any demand the Tumbler had in my opinion who knows if I am right but I think JW will be just fine for the Christmas flip2 points

Ok here is an update. Things have changed on how we get our data and the format that it is in. It seems that everyone in all the major companies are really either closing doors on data that is given out, or clamping down on how people share info. I have a bunch of code that I need to update in order to work with the new data. I need a few more days to work this out and make sure it's right. The good news is that, based on what I see, I hope that as everything moves forward, it will not need to be monthly updates. It could possibly make it's way to weekly updates, we will have to see. So if anyone asks where is the update, just point them to this post. I will try to get it out there as soon as I can.2 points

With any business whether it be a large corporation or a small website like BrickPicker, business models change. At times, you need to ask yourselves what it is that you are looking to achieve with the product you are working on. Since the beginning, Ed and I have always set out to try and help the LEGO investor and reseller save and make money.Today we are announcing that Brick Classifieds will be changing to the FREE / NO FEES model. I don't think you can really complain about that now can you. We want to help you, the LEGO investor/reseller, to move your product. Hopefully with some of the new tools that we have added to the system and the new ones that are being worked on right now, you will help spread the word to check Brick Classifieds first to find the best prices on LEGO items. Since there are no commissions taken out of your sale, we hope that you will work to price your items accordingly. If you are not going to lose fees, you should be pricing it lower on Brick Classifieds than on the other marketplaces so that you can still make the most money. Lower prices will help bring new buyers. Once buyers learn to check Brick Classifieds for best pricing, they will check Brick Classifieds first which means more money in your pocket instead of someone elses. We have made some updates to the product detail page of Brick Classifieds. We have included listings from other Brick Classifieds sellers as well as listings from eBay and Amazon. We are trying to show the buyer where they can get the best deal. If you, the seller, do your job correctly, they should want to buy the product from you and not go to the big shops. If the prices are better on eBay or Amazon, hopefully the buyer will click through and Brick Classifieds can earn some revenue through affiliate programs. Over the next few days we will be adding feeds from BrickOwl and still looking to see what can be done with BrickLink. It's been a while since I made a post about updates, but here are somethings that have changed on Brick Classifieds: Seller fees have been changed to 0% Removed the Trade feature. That has now returned to the BrickPicker forum. Entire site is in https (SSL) mode Created an infinite scroll page to easily see all the latest items that have been posted on the site Built a Store Banner Generator for you to design a custom banner for your store profile page. This could be useful for posting specials and discounts One of the big things we want to do is help spread the word about Brick Classifieds. We created a tool that will allow you to select random products in your store or pick the actual items you want displayed. It will create a snippet of code that you can use to display your store products on forums, websites, eBay, where ever. Just paste the code we give you and your items can be shown anywhere. In the coming days, there will be an update to the price guide template on BrickPicker that will include listings of sets on Brick Classifieds Everything you need to sell LEGO items is here for you. The price is right, that is for sure. The thing is to get the word out, price aggressively and get the buyers out there to learn more about your shop here on Brick Classifieds that has great prices. Viral marketing from all of you is the best way to get people to see your listings. Price the items better than eBay, Amazon, etc. They will buy from you and you will save on the fees. It is a win for everyone. Put a snippet about Brick Classifieds in a eBay listing here or there to let them check out your store. I am sure they would be happy to pay a lower price and know that you are most likely padding the price to help pay the eBay fees.1 point

Pretty cool. Lego needed a modular bank. But I'm not convinced that the "money laundering" helps the set. I would have preferred an area for ATM machines.1 point

What the forum members are saying is that those employees likely know less than we do about product retirement (less than nothing is still nothing btw). I don't think mean you are a liar that they did not say that, it's that they don't believe what the employees said. Guys - language is important. Rude posts have no place here and yet again we ask you to tone it down. Seriously, if you can't write a reply without insulting someone, DONT REPLY.1 point

It's not that anyone here thinks you'd deliberately give false information, more that you're basing your predictions on nothing more than hear say supplied by a CS rep. There's a thread already created called 'what I heard from a customer services rep today' and very little ends up being credible. If you believed everything you heard from them you'd end up missing out on a lot of sets. Sure they may be right but if you throw enough s**t at the wall sooner or later some of it will stick.1 point

I was faced with a similar question at TRU yesterday... get a Brick Bounty 70413 (have zero in my inventory)... or 2 more Wall-E (already have a handful)? I had to go for Wall-E again... Maybe this set is a good money maker at a $65 buy in... but better than the other options out there right now? I don't know. Has anyone said it yet? ... I think the Bounty could have done much better with black sails ... or even white sails (with a black skull & crossbones)... why did they do the red & white stripe? Is there some historical accuracy to that or something? It just looks like a kids birthday party, not a fearsome pirate ship.1 point

Hello all, I wanted to say high to everyone. Most people probably don't know me as I was one of the newer(ish) members to join about 2 plus years ago. Anyways, I still buy and sell Lego even though my current avenue of work has been WWII mocs for World War Brick which was held in Minneapolis. (Went to that one for my third straight year.) They also hosted WWB out of state in Anaheim, CA and Hartford, CT in 2015 as well. If want to check out some of my builds, please check out my Flickr account which is vikings_football28. (Link.) On a side note, we are doing a Lego Cologne On The Rhine Collab next year for WWB 2016. This collab depicts the famous Pershing vs. Panther duel in downtown Cologne, Germany on March 6th, 1945. The size is currently planned to be 96 studs wide and 144 studs long. We are looking for three more contributors to construct ruined buildings or send parts needed to construct the buildings. (The parts should be tan or dark grey in color. The pieces will be shipped back after the convention.) We have a Flickr group that will have the exact specs of each persons' building and other important planning information.) Thanks, Darth1 point

Instead of posting this in MOC highlights I feel like it's more appropriate to post it here ;-) Some of these might not be "architecture" (at least one ;-) ) but I'll post it here anyhow as it belongs to my series ^.^ This time the topic is asian architecture. I've found so many great MOCs that I cannot possibly post them all but I'll try to share some of the bests with you. Let's start with the simpler but still beautiful ones and work our way up. 1. https://www.flickr.com/photos/113119815@N06/15034180599/in/dateposted/ A very nice wooden gate by Kanji-Kanji-hiroshi (I cannot read the Kanji but the hiragana mean hiroshi ;-) ... so some japanese guy anyhow ) And an awesome cherry blossom tree! 2. Secondly we have a interior scene by "konze" https://www.flickr.com/photos/k0nze/7285602026 I like the simplicity of it. 3. Next we'll have a nice interior scene in some japanese teahouse by "gabriel" https://www.flickr.com/photos/55631421@N03/page1 I really like the detailed and yet simple interior even though I feel that the floor of "konze"'s moc (number 2) is more realistic. The exterior sure is an eyecatcher with the small cherry tree and the stonefloor. Also the bricktecture of the roof is great. 4. Last but certainly not least! I hope I can upload all of these picture ;-) These are just some builds of Hung Andy https://www.flickr.com/photos/andybear0426/ who has built many great stunning MOCs. You should check out his flickr account! Here are some details of the temple... These are pieces of paper, small fortune telling papers normally. Ringing the bell :-) And I guess these are supposed to be small wooden plates (also fortune stuff) Check out this awesome CRAB! restaurant. There's also a great interior. I guess these are dumplings... anyhow very nice detailed building and interior! Hope you enjoyed this asian architecture post :-)1 point

Paypal just "protected" me in a case from 9/29, so it takes some time. Paypal gave me the same message about the credit card company, too, when I called customer service. Paypal tries to get their money first, and if they can't, they should still protect you. I'm just pissed some a$$hat made off with a free Town Hall (in my case). Yes, I have my money, but it's the freakin' principle of the thing which burns me. Good luck.1 point
