Who knew LEGO's Microfighters 'chibi' style would have inspired a new breed of builds? (Or how about this CUUSOO submission from a year before LEGO unleased the Star Wars Microfighters upon the world.)5 points

I bought 5 ToT like 3 weeks ago at my B&M. Went in 2 days ago to buy 5 more and she said that they show they had sold me 5 and I couldn't buy any more. That's a first. Talk about pissed. I can see if I came in and bought 5, walked around the mall and came back to buy 5 more. Or even the next day. But 3 weeks later? That's a pile of BS. Especially on a friggin' $10 set.4 points

another 12 Santa's Workshop's in 12 separate single orders from target.com this morning. single orders prevent boxes from getting smashed like they always do on multiple orders and also getting to load up on boxes and bubbles. they've been in and out at least 3 times this morning. Up to 57. Going for 100. Not selling any this year unless we enter 2.5x MSRP territory.4 points

That's a little like asking a poker player if he/she is bluffing or not... I really don't know. If they come back next year, selling at Xmas is a great idea because the margins won't look that good again for some time. If they are EOL, which some signs point to, then hold out because the biggest bump may be later. It's a gamble. Hedge your bets and sell half, keep half?4 points

As a big Indiana Jones fan I'd like to share these with you! 1. Indiana Jones in Egypt by Brian Darrow (Link: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/153258 ) It's BIG, has got some nice details and that's that... sadly! As much as it has got going for itself more details would have made it an awesome MOC in my opinon. Like this is just a big (and very nice!) MOC. 2. Golden Kings Temple by Michal Kazmierczak (Link: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/379974 ) This is awesome and you can see why if you compare it to the first one (just to be clear about this: The first one is still very good and nice and a lot of work!). You get A LOT more details and hidden scences (and I didn't include everything here, check out the link for more details!). The structure of the ground is much better detailed and you have more variation. At the same time the level of detail on almost everything is pretty high without putting too much focus on just one thing. You can let your eye stroll around and discover new and interesting things everywhere! You'll need more than just one look to check this awesome MOC out! Check out these nice little (hidden) scenes! Also the level of detail almost everywhere! See the variety of the ground? I love how the golden dragons are used as detail for the door. (Did you even notice them at first glance? I didn't) 3. Mecha Indiana Jones by M<0><0>DSWIM! (Link: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/157281 ) The next one isn't as fantastic as the one before but it's still a nice creation. It's difficult to come up with these kinds of builds and I think it makes a good addition to this MOC Highlights of Indiana Jones. 4. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom by Sir Nadroj (Link: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/58987 ) This one is an eyecatcher just by itself. It also could easily be part of a big scenery. Especially the bridge is interesting here. I bet we all remember this scene :-)4 points

Here's an idea - take or leave the information that's posted here and stop trying to pick a fight with everyone. I guarantee it will in no way affect your ability to make money off of legos.3 points

Here's good thread to read through for lots of info on bans: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/9997-lego-bans-open-discussion/?page=16#comment-496442 I've been banned now for a few months. Like you i didn't see any red flags myself, but they saw something obviously. I never bothered calling because i am a re-seller after all As for what exactly is banned; I've yet to determine that (there seems to be discrepancies between each order they cancel/let through). However i have made many purchases after my "ban" with some pretty good success rates so far (albeit on different accounts). Not everything gets through, but enough.2 points

I stumbled across a local college student on Craigslist today. He had purchased Kylo Ren's Shuttle and the First Order Transporter. At the same time, his brother purchased the same sets as a gift for him. He had already opened the ones he bought, and the gift from his brother didn't contain a receipt so he couldn't return them. Obviously, he's a poor college student and looking for extra cash, so I got both for $80!2 points

I figured they would have simply went with the current Doctor of Peter Capaldi but to also include Matt Smith is a nice boot for the set which looks great. Interesting how different and more streamlined the Daleks here compared to the Cyberman Dimensions pack are. The Weeping Angel is not bad at all as does "the impossible girl". The hair chosen does seem a little big but still looks nice for her character. Honestly though more than anything, I just want the blue box. Haha.2 points

not only a tru exclusive, but you get a poster and figures at retail (before coupons) as opposed to jacked up prices if you were to buy them separately at same establishment.2 points

Yes, open a case and ban this buyer. If you want to make buyer's life difficult, report to eBay that his account might be compromised since per his own admission it was used by someone else while he was incapacitated. Yes yes, I know I am evil like that2 points

Jacked up my price and within 12 hours sold another Batcave 6860 and Funhouse combo for $161 shipped.2 points

No avoiding this with best offers but for other listings you can make the listing immediate payment required. Hear me now and believe me later, this will make your life much more enjoyable not having to deal with non paying knuckle heads. You might lose a few sales but the hair added to the top of your head and the months added on to your life will make it worthwhile.2 points

My son and I completed our bricklink'd Super Star Destroyer. Love the build, and the size is pretty impressive. If I had one gripe, it's that the mini-figs cannot stand up in the faux-bridge they included. To pose them, you have to leave the cover off. To store them in there, they all have to be either sitting or laying down. I substituted a handful of internal parts due to cost, like the yellow right-angle brackets that cost around $5 each. Total cost was under $400 spread out over a few months (to avoid the wife radar), but we still need to buy 2 of the 5 mini-figs. The exercise of finding the parts, maximizing the orders, inventorying and sorting, and then finally building, was a VERY worthwhile and fun project. Almost like an archaeological dig of sorts.2 points

My view on this topic, all JW (except no more 75920 RE or very small chance) come back in Oct/Nov and will retire in Jan 2016....depends on how big last production done you will be able to get leftovers in 2016 but not much, and all JW sets do very well ( even smallest one too) ....so, i am buying now and will be buying later on.1 point

I just created a template that I always start with. All the options I want are already selected and the body text is the same. I just have to insert set name, set number, and any other pertinent information (notable damage). Works pretty well for the few things I sell.1 point

Sure you can but if only one store of the three in the area has any not much good there. I can go back any time I want to drive the 160 miles to walk in the door. I managed to walk around the mall and go back in and get another pair of a few sets for a total of 4 RE, 2 RR, 1 IR. I am already banned for online so no worries there.1 point

Been moving the $1.49 SW magnets (blow out from LEGO Shop at Home ) in sets of 7 at close to $5/ea. I pad my shipping, so I will be close to 300% after fees. I bought over 100, I wish I had 300 more.1 point

This is just one way to do it. I am sure others have even better systems. Mine is pretty simple and good enough for me: Step 1: start somewhere. I have my best rewards credit card (for me that is Chase Sapphire, but I'm sure a lot of people use Toys R Us Rewards mastercard, Target Red Card, etc) linked to my Raise account. Step 2: Buy discounted gift cards with Raise (I like their app). I buy Target at 10% or above, TRU/BRU at 12% or above, Lego at 5% or above, eBay at 5% or above, and some others. Step 3: Wait for a deal to convert what you purchase on Raise to something even better. For example, what MarxMarvelous did was go on eBay and buy a TRU gift card on eBay for less than face value (this is always a good move, depending on the discount). He used his eBay gift card (acquired previously elsewhere at a discount) to pay for his eBay purchase (the TRU gift card he won at auction). In addition, with the 5x eBay bucks promo (ending in 13 hours) he got another 10% off the price of his TRU gift card in the form of eBay bucks he can used next month. Then he is going to use the TRUTH coupons (look in the TRUTH tactics thread for barcodes) and walk into a TRU on a Thursday (Saturday starting soon) and buy something for a massive aggregate discount after factoring in all of the above. Let's say he got his eBay gift card (to start with) at 18% off. Then another 10% difference between the face value of the TRU card he bought on eBay and the price he won it for at auction. Then another 10% in eBay bucks. Then he is going to use a 20% off one item coupon (see TRUTH tactics thread) at the checkout aisle at TRU, then he is going to get 10% more off if he has a TRU Rewards mastercard and can convince the cashier to let him do a partial pay wherein he puts a little bit on the mastercard and pays for the majority of the purchase with the TRU gift card he won from eBay. AND, what's more he will earn TRU rewards points at 4% for amount not put on TRU mastercard and 8% for amount put on mastercard. When he is done, the price of that $150 Millennium Falcon just got slashed to a total acquisition cost of about $80, give or take. Another thing that you can do is convert one gift card to another. For example, you can commonly buy Target gift cards on Raise for 6% off or better. eBay gift cards run, on average, only 2-3% discount. So I buy a Target gift card and then go to Target.com and use my Target gift card to purchase eBay gift cards, effectively giving me a much better acquisition cost for my eBay gift cards. Which I will then use during an extra eBay bucks promo to buy a discounted Toys R Us (or similar) gift card on the eBay site from some nice lady in Boca Raton. This is a dizzying process, but if you like math, it can get to be a lot of fun.1 point

Wow... I can't stand there and smoosh in a Lego store. Target or TRU, sure... off on your own in the toy aisles... but in a Lego store? Out in the open, where it couldn't be more obvious that you are trying to take the 'prize' goods, and leave the common stuff for the rest of the customers? That takes attitude that I don't have.1 point
