I missed out on the HH for myself last year, was able to pickup 5 at the time but just got a used one on eBay for $325 which I think was ok considering.3 points

This is hit or miss. I've had the same TRU give me both coupons and price match, then two days later refuse to give both (one or the other) and then a week later give both again. Just depends on the store, the managers and how the cashiers are trained (or not trained). Whether my stacking works or not I am always polite, I never complain, and I act apologetic and friendly when my tactics don't work. I hope everyone does the same.3 points

TRU now has the 75053 Ghost at $71.99. Stack a 20% coupon with 10% TRUSA (that's TRUTH on Saturdays), and it comes to $51.83 (+ tax). 42% off. That's the best price I've seen all year.3 points

For lack of a better place at the moment, here's a post about the fallout from this "discovery" .. http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/comment/381034/#Comment_381034 Warning, there is a LOT of potential set names revealed. If you don't like spoilers, don't go!3 points

Look at the bright side... You don't live in Quebec. /kidding3 points

To be Frank, the white gives me indigestion but the black one looks like it will be edible.2 points

The piece count could work. The set could be highly detailed and finished on all four sides, unlike the Modulars. It could also have a super detailed interior. I would love to see it, but I have to wonder if there are not better models to invest 4600 pieces into.2 points

My 4 cases of series 14 from indigo arrived this morning. Extremely fast shipping from Canada. I ordered these two days ago. All four cases are still sealed. They didn't even open the lego cardboard box they came in. The packing slips were all inserted into their own plastic envelope and stuck to the outside of the shipping carton. I am extremely happy with this company, and the price on these can't be beat.2 points

My partner is taking a six month sabbatical (she's a prof) and we're going to Perpignan France for 6.5 months. Was going to post about it closer to as we don't officially have our French visas yet. France isn't part of the British commonwealth so it's a ton of stupid paperwork!2 points

Now "Sold Out" at US LEGO Shop at Home. Of course, we now know "Sold Out" means NOTHING.2 points

I finally got a used fire brigade for $175 plus shipping on eBay :)2 points

Well, fantastic news. After all this talk with not only here, but the wife and everything, I just received notification from lego that I'm a winner. My only assumption is someone had won and didn't respond in time and so they moved on. I'm so damn stoked. I can't wait to receive my shipping notification.2 points

I'll actually be kinda annoyed if they make this. Of all the popular licenses Lego has access to, they choose Ghostbusters to make a 4600 piece set?2 points

funny how lego IDEAS downed the project and now are making it themselves NOT to pay the original designer royalty fees... same with helicarrier2 points

Just finished my third modular and second via bricklink. Spent a hair over $400 on it. Could have been cheaper but I stayed pretty true to the original except for the third floor windows. The front door, dark blue posts next to the doors, blue shirt minifig, and skis over the door were the priciest. I did end up with some extra doors so I can sell them to get it under $400... or do another one...2 points

Thirsty, I'm not trying to call you out but, this post is a perfect example of why anyone thinking about getting into this needs to sell a few items BEFORE they wind up with a portfolio worth $70k. Buying is easy, finding deals is a thrill. Selling, no matter what platform you're on is hard. Anyone doing this needs to know that. Good luck, I've sold on eBay for over a decade and am, for the most part, happy with it.2 points

I dumped all 15 I had over the last month at $99.99 after increasing rumors of a retro 1960s TV-show based "classic" batcave which sounds a lot more interesting. with 6860s long life, the competing batcave's, AA and Jokerland, outlook does not look good. http://www.groovebricks.com/lego-batman-classic-tv-series-batcave-coming-in-2016/ http://en.brickimedia.org/wiki/76052_Batman_Classic_TV_Series_Batcave1 point

For those who don't like the blue rubber-bands (like me), i suggest using the white ones found in other sets such as the previous X-Wings.1 point

I have seen a handful at Target for a while now alongside the Go-Kart polybag; not sure if they still have it in stock presently. I don't think it was a widely available polybag and I suppose the assortment of pieces are desirable by many. This is the cheapest set to include the nice translucent light blue satellite dish which is a rare part unless you are into the Ultra Agents stuff. I almost picked up a second just for the heck of it (and the dish) but went with the Space Starter Set instead because for a few dollars more I ended up with more characters and parts. I like the printing on these latest astronauts.1 point

I agree. I think with how hot this line is, lego will see that as a sign that this is a hot ticket around this time of year. I could see Treehouse of Horror, or a Monsters line part 2 for sure. They could go much further with these and could easily do 4 or 5 series just on halloween figures.1 point

Well there are two people behind the scenes working very hard at getting the 'investing' word out to everyone. We've had the Telegraph article, followed by the Mirror article, soon they'll be the book. All we need next is a weekly podcast and a Youtube channel just to ensure no stone is left unturned.1 point

Been popping in and out of stock fairly often the past few days with the Oct 15th shipping date. No idea what to think of this set anymore, either way been selling some locally to slim my stock down to a safer level1 point

My used Ewok Village sans minifigs arrived last week. Sorted the pieces over the course of the week then built up the village on Friday night. It lasted less than 24 hours where I dismantled it and put the purchase to it's real purpose. Saw this in the MOCs thread a couple months back and fell in love with it, had to have one. I present my personal edition of the 10236 UCS Lord of the Rings Ent!1 point

Even the sun shines on a dog's butt some days....picked up a Very Good Town Hall out of the Warehouse for $236. Not sure how they calculated their price for this, I think it may have been an FBA item from the stickers on it, but it made it an easy decision to buy. The box was rough, but I was only hoping for sealed bags. They were all included and sealed.1 point

I'm taking the warning more as a question, if they can do this, why can't they continue to escalating to a UCS size set? Answer........there's no reason they cannot.1 point
