  1. I win today. On a background, if you don't know: These little goats are only in one retired set and highly sought after. Check sold listings and the routinely go for $30-$40 each. No one will pay this much for these. Everyone whose listed them more than $15 hasn't sold a single one. I've watched them for over a year and i get that you want to profit from the goats but it isn't going to happen. Im sorry that im ranting about this but frankly im sick of the price fixing on the lego goats. No one wants to pay more than $10 for one of these. Good luck. I hope you find a rich/sucker/fool who will buy them from you. Again I apologize for this email. Ive been drinking and am frustrated that people will only sell these stupid goats for stupid prices. Sure ive got $55 but on principal i wont pay that much for a tiny bit of plastic. Please block me so i wont bother you again. Have a good day. Reply Reply with off

  2. Hey there guys.maybe I should have been more clear. Would this be disturbing to anyone, if it were real, which it is not? seriously though it was just a boring day and I had a funny thought. Hope some of you enjoyed it. And as you can see (from the xray) I didn't put much work into it. So if you're worried about too much time on my hands, it was 7 minutes from idea to reality.

  3. I am wondering if this is somehow related to "Force Awakens." We have seen Lego have supply issues all year and I wonder how many designers and other resources they have had to shift over to Star Wars. Maybe the "Winter" team has been compromised, resulting in a disappointing re-issue. Another lazy thing Lego did recently was changing the Tower Bridge box art and making more of those. Perhaps they said "We just don't have time for a new, giant historical landmark set, let's just do a Tower Bridge re-issue." Disney is force choking Lego.

  6. I think the issue I am trying to convey is that the entire Lego community did not implode and go away over the new X Wing It will not implode and go away over this More difficult for us ? possibly depending on your strategy before this occurred More profitable for Lego ? absolutely Timmy just woke up and is excited he can now afford that set that he wants that was released when he was too young and now he can get it at an affordable price. Short sighted ? Not in Timmy's eyes and not in Lego either I really want to own a 10179. I had one a short drive away new sealed for 2500 bucks not too long ago and I passed. very bad decision. It has taken off and am not able to get one at this time and it is the one set as a new mint sealed I want the most. Would I like to have 10179 released again for me ? yes I would If I had a stack of 10179's I would be gearing to sell them all by this Christmas and I would have already planned that before this happened In 5 years will I have any of my R2 D2 or 10240 inventory left ? no but I would not have before this happened either yes exciter I am excited about 10240 lol my point is I am not saying we have to like it but it is a fact so we have to adapt. I am still in it. Hope you will be to.

  7. Did another quarterly 'cleaning' of sets to free up space. Lots / some of The Swamp Creature, Orc Forge, Batwing Over Gothum City, Bat vs. Ban Tumbler Chase, Spideman SpiderCycle and Malibu Mansion sets. Had a Chima Lion Temple, Wolverine/ Deadpool set, Palpatine's Shuttle, The Gatehouse Raid and King's Castle. It was a win - win for me and the buyer. $3100 shipped. Pics 1 and 2 fit in the same box. All pics taken before packing material and inner cardboard braces were used.

  8. Maybe a lot of people missed out on this set and focus groups told Lego the set they want most as an end user is a Toy Shop. Maybe Lego is a multi billion dollar company and they are focused on profits and pleasing the masses not the investors. Maybe Lego did this without the reseller in mind at all. Maybe we are but a nat on their wind shield. Maybe Lego resellers think too much of themselves and their place in the Lego universe. Maybe if I saw what happened to Santa's workshop and the absolute success it was and if we worked at Lego coupled with focus groups and surveys we would think re releasing the toy shop would be a profit home run. Maybe not long ago some people questioned if the Santa Workshop was the end of the Winter Village line or maybe as some said it was not even part of the winter village line Maybe in some resellers minds it is ok to end the series but not ok to re release a set with mass appeal for children and families everywhere Maybe just maybe it is not about us. For me it reinforces that the decisions Lego makes are about them and their customer not about us. I love the new set Bring it on to flip, to hold, to invest, and most especially to have fun building

  10. Cough - that's my picture and I posted it for the first time in the "Retiring Soon" thread on July 24th when the glitch on the European LEGO Shop at Home site started the panic. You found it on a Korean Forum???

  12. I really don't get why some people have to rag on others. You don't know what he paid, you don't know what his shipping and commission fees were. You don't know what you think you know and it makes you sound foolish. Criticizing other people's actions while making myriad assumptions adds nothing to Brickpicker and certainly adds nothing to this thread.

  13. It is like when youngsters tell you about a new movie that will hit the cinema soon and it's called "Total Recall". The look on their faces when you say you already saw it 25 years ago. It must have something to do with lack of inspiration. Like the many movie rehashes we got the last years. I hate it.

  15. This is not even toyshop version 2.0. It is version 1.01. Couldn't the company at least change the building exterior look? Even the city police station gets significantly different look at each refresh. We can understand the similarities of SW rehash sets, they are modelled after the movies. But there is no reason for TLG for making an exact copy of WV toyshop. The executive responsible should be demoted for pure greed and laziness. Shall we start an online petition for lego to punish the exec?

  16. Maybe Lego will hire you. You are very efficient and effective if you did that in 7 minutes. Please tell me you did the same trick with the winter toyshop!

  17. I would say there are certain UCS that are certain to see a remake at some point including 10030 and 10179, they are too iconic to not be made again. Owners of them won't like it, but they will make huge $$ for Lego. Something like TIE Interceptor, doubtful. That's the 2nd time I've seen the word "proclivity" used on a website forum today, the first time was talking about Ashley Madison.

  20. I tend to agree with you on all 3. On paper, Captain Phasma could be like Boba Fett and have that cult like following. However, until the movie is on the big screen, I reserve wanting to go all in on everything "Force Awakens". Because it could become Darth Maul Part 2.

  21. Don't worry there is an easy way to fix this re-issue nonsense The QFLL'ers are gonna buy the crap out of this set so its so short supplied that it goes up and over the value of the original take that LEGO

  23. Heh, I still could not believe LEGO chose to retire the UCS version of most iconic & beloved droid in SW history just before movie VII Perhaps the re-hash of TS was due to the WV designers being pulled to work on better version of UCS R2 ? Obligatory disclaimer: I have no idea what LEGO is or is not planning
    3 points
  24. If people start feeling that they can just wait for the re-release of R2, that won't help drive the price up...Thus making Lego in the the long term, less desirable...
    3 points
  25. For investors - there is no positive side to this. By this logic, maybe when they re-release the UCS Falcon - all the UCS's will benefit. Let's not forget all those early Modular's - I can hardly wait.

  26. Not huge news; but Walmart.ca's listing of this set has been taken down. Usually they take listings down when they have no stock in stores, and don't expect to get anything to sell online. Now it could come back as many old listings do pop up from time to time, but those are usually retired/retiring products that they just found stock of and weren't actually a new shipment. Not saying this is definitive, but another piece to the puzzle. Wish i had a few more, but if it comes back i'll wish i had a few less then what i have now... damn this struggle! In other news i bundled this with Gallimimus Trap to test the waters and sold it for $125CAD (incl shipping) the other day

  27. ToysRUs and eToys are selling Wall-E on eBay right now for $59.99 with free shipping! Some may have to pay tax like me but...Target.com has a deal on eBay e-gift cards. I bought a $50 card for $45, and after tax the total came to $59.79 which is less than if I had bought it from LEGO Shop at Home. ToysRUs eToys eBay Gift Card

  29. There we go, someone with a succinct two sentence summary covering all of my points I was going to make. Agree 100%. I would say very, very, very, very few. The real response from the family will be "whew, thanks Grandma, we can't find all of the pieces, and the dog chewed a minifigure, and the light brick is burnt out".

  30. So the Grandmother goes to the Lego store & buys the new holiday set. Brings it home, wraps it up & gives it to the family for Christmas. The daughter says "Ma, you bought this for us 6 years ago." The grandmother says "The woman at the Lego store said it was brand new." How many variations of this story will there be...?

  31. hahaha, thanks but no unfortunately for those invested that was not my handiwork. I still can't believe the Lego "designer" did a designer video for that set....Well I can't believe he did it with a straight face.

  33. Those of you that sold 10199's recently better be watching for returns. As disappointed as I am, I will buy 2 at the very least. I will want one to build eventually and one to hold onto just in case, but don't see myself stocking up on them. Maybe we should have a "what Lego set do you want to see rehashed" thread if we don't already. I know the ones I would like to see and are probably similar to others' list but it all depends on when we came out of dark ages and how old we are.

  34. Actually by Christmas 2012, this set was still widely available for $100-$110 shipped on eBay. Would you still recommend anyone to cash in then ? Assuming the answer is no, that only left us with 2 holiday seasons in which the price continued to raise. Lets just say Christmas 2014 was the best time to sell, that would hardly count as "many opportunities to sell" due to seasonal nature of the set. Plus, as popular as WV line is, why would not anyone want more from the 1st set in the line ?

  39. I'm not sure if the pic has been posted already, but PC got new box design with different piece count. The old one looks better though. There are new boxes for TB and PC, and new born Winter Toy Shop. What's going on LEGO world?

  40. Very disappointed in this! My daughter and I look forward to building the new Winter Village set each year to add to our collection. She was excited to see what the new Winter Village set was and when I showed her, she said, "We already have that one. Why would they make the same one over again?" Then she said, "I guess we don't need to get that since it's the same." If this was at least SOMEWHAT different, it would be OK, but it is basically identical to the previous version. I agree with her - there's really no need to buy the new one for those of us that have the old one. If LEGO wants to re-release sets that have retired, I would like a Grand Carousel, Green Grocer, Cafe Corner, Holiday Train and Emerald Night please!

  41. This thread exploded lol. Yes, it is one of the less justifiable re-releases LEGO has done so far, from the point of view of the collector/seller. As many others have said, this was clearly a business decision. However, I still think that this will present some opportunities, at least in the form of quick flipping.

  43. Rather than blame the designers, i think the fault lies squarely with the business executives of TLG. There is no shortage of new ideas for WV. Even if the designers are doing a new toy shop, it is so easy to have a different building structure. The biz suit in charge of WV probably wants to maximise profits and the easiest way is to rehash; no need to incur cost in new design. That said, other product lines in lego has also been rehashed in varying degrees, SW and city being the number 1 and 2 culprit. The teams doing these rehashed have been well rewarded in the past because the consumers continued to lap it up. On the other hand, innovative themes like chima and ninjago are sometimes overlooked by AFOL. So what TLG does is merely a reaction to profit margin consideration. If the consumers boycott rehashed themes like OT SW sets, then it will push the company to devote more resources to innovate rather than to rehash. Another way fans should do is to shift some focus away from rehashed sets to innovative sets like ninjago, chima and elves. Brickpicker should take the lead.

  46. It's free money for TLG. Minimal design, effort, it will sell like crazy Form those looking to add to their winter village, I'm surprised there has been minimal talk for the new creator changing seasons house

  47. Typically I don't take the time to get on every forum, but since there were so many sales within hours of listing the pre-order, I assumed investors were responsible. Hopefully I can address a few concerns briefly. I have attached a photo that will hopefully show more clearly how everything is shipped. Labels are affixed to the boxes exactly as they are received, and larger orders will even receive double boxing. We pride ourselves with never opening the original shipping boxes. Anything that looks remotely damaged will be opened and parted out, so you receive the best boxes. Fortunately we have increased supply for this series, anticipating a higher demand (as is typical when there are figures involving an upcoming holiday), but that is very true. We have expanded to Amazon this summer as well, and if sales continue the way they are over the next 48 hours, you will see the price increase. Shipping date is expected to be around the 17th or 18th of September to be more precise, but because we cannot make promises on that date, it is stated as "late September."
