  1. Best tru purchase I have ever made! Close tie with the mf I found at target yesterday, but it cost considerably more.

  2. Interesting day today. Started out at shopko and picked up 4 friends light house sets for $20.31 each after tax by using the clearance price, additional 10% off clearance sale, and $10 off $50 coupon. This set is unique, unlike all of the cafes and pet themed sets from this line, which is why I bought them. Part of me said "what little girl is going to want to play with a light house?" but at over 50% off I couldn't pass. If nothing else I'll pair them with a dolphin cruiser and sell as a combo. Then I scored a local Craig's deal. All new and sealed 4867 Hogwarts, a 4738 hagrid's hut, a 4714 gringotts bank, and a 3222 helicopter and limousine for $200. Should easily double if not a little more on these. Also picked up a few more mystery machines at retail. It was a good day.

  6. It is typical of the investment game... zero patience. Not everything sky rockets like Town Hall and Haunted House. The UCS Imperial Shuttle didn't do a hell of a lot for awhile and now is taking off. My AAs are put aside and being forgotten about as I move on to the next thing.

  9. Just back from the San Antonio LEGO store all Scooby Doo sets gone with the exception of about 5-7 Mystery Mansion sets. This is despite the fact that they have this built as one of their feature sets. In my opinion, this is the only set in the line where I feel like I'm getting some value for my money. It looks magnificent on display. I almost impulse purchased one but I don't have any room in my luggage.

  11. I don't know how much this will end up helping the set to appreciate, but I do think this set fits in nicely with Jokerland. This set could easily be another "attraction" in that theme park. While I haven't seen the two sets built next to each other, I'm guessing the scales of these two sets are equivalent.

  14. I have no clue about its retirement. But finding out if it's selling well is not rocket science (any more). These sales numbers (of a Batman set in EU) with a limit of one compared to other 100+ $/€ sets - what further evidence does anyone need?

  15. Does anyone else feel like this thing has been retiring since it was released...?

  16. Now this set is doing very well. Happy I bought them as many as I could at 40% below RRP.

  17. Wouldnt it seem a bit off to have the tumbler on the shelves featuring bale and ledger as figures when the movie running then is completely different regarding the vehicle as well as the characters? The tumbler is no generic-licensed Batman set, but dedicated to the TDK trilogy. Draw your own conclusions from that.

  18. Do you think Lego would spend millions on License Fees, plus millions for the molds to make these sets just to have them out for a few months. They have struck gold with this series so don't be surprised if the sets go into 2016.

  19. my regular walmart haunt restocked all JW sets except for RE and Trex. i thought my TRU had stopped stocking JW lego until i accidentally strolled by the JW section no where near the lego section but in the merchandise section for the JW action figures and other JW merchandise. they were all there. long term this theme is a winner. for now i'm only hoarding the 2 raptor sets (RR+RE) which were the hardest to find near me and also the cheapest to ship. might make a nice $180-200 combo this xmas. still i'm thinking these raptor sets if they aren't back will just keep going up to stupid money land. and i want to still have RE double digits when we get to stupid money land. i'm hoarding cash for the inevitable transient appearance of the elusive Santa's workshop.

  23. I have no idea where this would go, so feel free to move (or remove). From another site... Quote Seasonal set news! Holiday vignettes (like the Valentine's and Easter sets) Halloween: Kid trick or treating, dressed as a witch, there's a stoop and a front door with a skeleton answering it. Thanksgiving: Restaurant scene - chef wheeling out a full turkey on a cart, pie underneath it, there's a table with a woman sitting at it ready to be served. Christmas 1: Kids building a snowman outside a snowy front porch Christmas 2: "Santa's Visit" fireplace, tree, presents 2015 Holiday Promo sets First is a train, looks like a Christmas version of the Emerald Express. Second is a gingerbread house. Apparently looks amazing.

  24. I totally agree. I should have had "can" in my statement not "will" because I have know idea if they will do it but I know they can replenish if they really wanted to. I can't remember who posted it but they brought up a good point about rotating inventory supply. This makes a lot of sense since I don't believe TLG can keep inventory of everything all the time. At least one good indicator of this theory is the message about the Ewok village being available after Christmas. Obviously LEGO has a plan in place for the Xmas season and EV isn't part of it.

  28. Yes, we don't know about sale expectations, production costs and profitability. But that wasn't my point. My only point was and is that in comparison to other 100+ $/€ sets sales figures of the Tumbler are quite good. I'm no accounting guru but I ran a quick analysis based on Brickset's EU stock records - the following are rounded weekly sales: 10218 Pet Shop: ca. 200 10232 Palace Cinema: ca. 120 10243 Parisian Restaurant: ca. 100 10246 Detective's Office: ca. 180 75059 Sandcrawler: ca. 40 75060 Slave I: ca. 110 10236 Ewok Village: ca. 30 10240 Red Five X-wing Starfighter: ca. 130 71006 Simpsons House: ca. 80 ================= 76023 The Tumbler: ca. 180 The Tumbler is on par with the most successful modulars, it sells a lot better than Slave I, more than twice as the SH and six(!) times the EV. Therefore I assume that there's a high probability (but we can't know for sure) at least sale expectations in EU are met. Or would one realistically expect the Tumbler to do even better than that?

  29. Can they catch up? Sure they can. They can do anything they want. They could flood the distribution chain with this line if they wanted to. But where it gets interesting is, what would they have to put on the back burner to do this. They don't have unlimited production capacity. Are they at full capacity now? I don't pretend to know, and I don't know how anyone outside of the company would. Having the molds is one thing, having the hours in the day to run those molds is another.

  30. I don' think this set is going anywhere. I don't think Lego would spend so much time and money to create a huge exclusive set to only last 18 months, and I doubt that they miscalculated their production costs.

  36. Just sold 2 more same buyer on eBay GSP at $115 each so I would say it has broken the $100 barrier. That makes 6 sold above $100 in the week since the movie has come out.

  37. Isn't this the same Brick Blogger that has called for the retirement of the Death Star a couple times before this year? And the quote says retired from LEGO brand retail stores. I could see it being phased out from retail stores due to lack of shelf space but still made available on the Shop at Home website, Amazon, Target, TRU, etc.

  38. Stopped at a WM in MD on my way down to Florida and there was a girl completely reorganizing the Lego aisle with a couple pallets of Lego. She seemed knowledgeable and what I mean by that is she anticipated I was asking about JW sets when I said "can you check your stock for..." and told me that JW sold out very quickly (thanks for the update). She scanned the tags for a couple sets for me and said that she had 8 RE, 12 RR, 10 Dilo on order and that they should arrive in 3-5 days. Who knows if the order will actually fill though right. She also had the shelf schematics all lying out and there were Definitely spaces for all the JW sets and the price stickers were already placed by her.

  39. It's already hit around £45 over here in the UK, so already almost triple RRP. I'd say in the UK it will be around £70 around Nov/Dec.

  40. I suppose so. But then this set only came out 2 years after the last Dark Knight movie. It's hard to know what Lego's thinking might be with this. Also, I know it's not quite the same thing, but they're still releasing OT SW sets along with new ones, I guess because they sell well. I think with the Tumbler it will just come down to how profitable it is to keep it going rather than how it aligns with current movies.

  41. The bottom set is a lot more planned and even than the top one. The top set was a combo of 2x4's 2x2s 2x3s and random plates and other bits I could scrape together. The bottom shelf I measured and purchased the specific amount of bricks I needed. The overall length is 92 studs. The plates that form each shelf ledge are 6x4s layed end on, so 23 per level (23 x 4 = 92 studs). 4 levels so 92 plates in total. The bricks are all 2x4s. They lay across the plate level so that 1 stud is sticking out behind them and they take up 2, then 3 studs in front for the minifigs to sit on. They are stacked 5 high on each level. So 23 x 5 = 115. Three levels use them so 3 x 115 = 345. Plus a used a few extra ones as on each level a few on each end are turned sideways to achieve the offset to make them overlap like a brick wall. The top level is actually 1x2x5 bricks. I used them as it was lighter, slightly cheaper, and on the top I didn't need 2 studs depth to accomodate another step on top. The top of them is crowned with a layer of 1x8 tiles to keep the tall bricks in alignment. Could use thin 1x? plates but I needed tiles as the studs from a plate made it just too tall to fit into the shelving unit. There is also a bunch of bricks at the back on each end coming down from the top layer to the floor and attaching to each level. This is needed for stability otherwise the whole thing topples backwards. It's not pretty but it does the job, and you can use any random old bricks you have. Hope that helps, let me know if it's not clear or you want more info/pics.

  45. I decided to stop by a Goodwill store on my way to dinner and as I walk through the door, right on front on top of a glass case was a UCS Slave 1. Price was $99. I was able to open the box and verify all the bags were there (and sealed) so I picked it up. I got a 10% off discount so got it for $96 after tax, Afterwards I went to a Lego store (also on the way to dinner) and stumbled upon the whole JW line. Picked up 5 Raptor Rescapes. I consider this trip a success

  46. My Lego store in Orange County CA has restocked of all but rapture escape. I built the rapture escape I got from walmart and it was missing one piece. I wonder if others had the same thing happen. I already reported to lego. I wonder if this was systemic wide.

  47. LEGO Creative Tower on amazon for $109.42 including shipping fee. Got extremely lucky, shipping to a buyer less than 90 minutes from where I live - came out to less than $8. Buy in was $30 from walmart's black friday blowout last year. Down to my last 4.
