  1. Every party has a pooper that's why they invited me. So, i know this is an exciting orgy / self-fulfilling prophecy of demand and out-of-stockness etc. Disclaimer - I'M ONLY POSTING THIS FOR THOSE THAT ARE NEW / HAVEN'T SEEN MULTIPLE YEARS OF THIS. I'm not telling those who know better than me anything they haven't heard yet. --------- Ok, now JUST to the newbs. Please be careful. It's entirely possible you could get smacked down buying these sets at retail. If (IF) they come back and hang around THROUGH the holidays, then they're going to linger on shelves. Then they're going to linger at Toys R Us at the TRU premium (usually about 10% over retail) for a very LONGGGG time. That caps your ability to sell for a profit for a while. Then they're going to hit clearance and provide competitors to your buy-in price that you can't beat. (IE you bought Indominus at 129.99 and others will find it for 99 and 79, and even 49. So if you can't afford to sit on your stock of JW stuff AT LEAST through next July without incurring financial pain, please don't jump in more than you can afford. The whole theme MIGHT NOT be a quick flip. Sets are clearanced at Walmart & then come back ALL the time. ------------ For those of you that are vets, I FULLY get why you're jumping in. Lots of nice pieces aligning in a potential perfect storm. Just don't want to see the newbs get trampled in a situation that could totally smack them down. ---------- Lame warning over.

  2. Finally got all the parts in, and here is the finished model! Overall fairly happy, it could be better, but it does the job. Might turn the empty flickfire missile spots to lights.

  3. The only sane conclusion to make from all of this is that TLG is phasing out the modular building and Simpsons lines to go all in on sets with helicopters......

  8. 6 Cantinas in PERFECT boxes at a really sketchy Walmart for $49 each. Couldn't believe how nice the boxes were. They're always destroyed at this store. And.................sadly, i went ahead and scooped up the 3 Raptor Escapes they had. I still don't believe this theme at large is bound for early extinction, but i'm also not above hedging my bets on a non-TRU store exclusive with popular exclusive characters. Cashier was asking me if i had ever seen the Lego Death Star. I told him i had one in my trunk. I think he thought i was messing with him

  9. Who'd you narc on for this insider knowledge Ed? We're on to your little game Trading brickpickers ID's for retirement info. Gather data on all your competitors and then turn them in to the Lego Banhammer Gestapo. It's almost like a TV Show...... ............Adding a j/k at the bottom as i've been told people don't get my sarcasm or sense of humor.

  10. Sorry folks, we're gonna have to cut the tour a bit short today. Please have a seat. "Why?" Turn around and look up. "Oh."

  11. It seems like everytime a set says sold out people start to panic, so what is everybody going to go out and spend tons of money and go broke, every set now and then says sold out, and as for the PR retiring before the PS and PC well if this happens I am retiring from Lego I have thousands of Exclusives to last me a few years to make big money, for most it has to be driving you crazy reading all these post everyday, its even gets to me sometime. Nobody can buy everything and as for the Jurassic World sets I am 99% on the 75919 set and if I can get the 75920 set I will get some. For you guys that have a small amount of money to buy Lego better be careful or you will be in major money trouble by the end of the year, Ed

  16. Normally, I do not sell much or anything worthy of posting in this thread...but was stoked today when I sold a T-Rex Tracker and Gallimimus poly for $120 (with free shipping). Buy-in was roughly $47 with TRUTH and GC. Glad I tested the waters. Trying to follow Exciter1 with slow and steady, but kind of wished I picked up more!

  20. I think we have to assume "Sold Out" in Europe means they don't want to worry about putting silly "Temporary Out of Stock" or "expected Ship date" - too much work. With two months vacations there is just no time for that... (note that Birds and ISD are also "Sold Out")

  23. One thing that I would like to add is that if you aren't receiving feedback, then your customers are NOT unhappy and that's all you can ask for because you will know if one is miserable.

  24. From a buyer's perspective, I've left feedback on Amazon on very few occasions. There is something about buying over there that just keeps me from doing it as much as I do on eBay. Part of if is the illusion of buying from Amazon. Even though people are buying from 3rd party sellers, most of the times I guess it feels just as if you were buying directly from Amazon.

  26. Or they just want to go back to 1-2 modulars available at once. I could imagine that Kwik E Mart bombed in Europe though. As for calling Lego, I tried that last year re: TH and the guy just said, 'it's not retired, but we don't know when we'll get more in.'. Turns out the correct answer was, 'never'. I can just imagine the conversation in this case: Me: Hi, I was wondering if PR is really sold out, or it's just a glitch? Lego CS: It's 'available now' in the US. Me: Yes, but it's 'sold out' in Europe. Lego CS: (Pause, then in an eerily calm voice) Why do you care, exactly? Me: (Hangs up, sigh of relief that I was calling from a pay phone)

  40. Last month, I acquired several lego sets for the first time in 15 years. I used my 20% big box store employee discount on AT-AT 75054, Shuttle Tydirium 75094, AT DP 75083, and Palace Cinema 10232. I had my eye on Death Star 10188 ever since it came out years ago, and just missed out on getting it with my employee discount. It's sold out at the big box stores. Luckily, the Lego Store in my metro still had some in stock.
