Jeff and I have been told about a possible huge sales event Amazon is preparing for on July 15, 2015. We have a friend who works within the Robbinsville, NJ Amazon warehouse and they are ramping up for huge activity. My brother in law (who is a mailman) also let me know that they were told that the USPS was told to be prepared for double the Amazon shipments from July 13-18. A friend wrote me today to confirm our suspicions of a gigantic 20th Anniversary Sale that will discount many "Prime" items 25-50% OFF! While this is only a rumor at this point, it makes a lot of sense since Amazon's first day of business was July 16, 1995. There is too much smoke here for there not to be a fire. Get your wallets ready. If you are not a Prime member, now is the time to join.8 points

I'll take Ed's cue and add a complaint When your son wants to know if the set you are in the process of purchasing is for playing or for selling in front of the Lego store manager.7 points

Thought I found my deal of the year last week on Kijiji with my SEALED Haunted House, Town hall, Fire brigade, and Pet Shop for $750.00 Today's find on Kijiji may have topped that: 1) UCS Imperial Star Destroyer 10030 2) USC Blockade Runner 10019 3) Jabba's Sail barge 6210 All 3 sets were built and 100% complete with near perfect condition instructions. Asking price was $440 for all. He accepted $350! Didn't think these kind of deals existed and yet I found 2 great finds in one week!5 points

Lol, this never ceases to amaze me... Had a Chima set new and unopened listed for $20 on a local Facebook group (about 400 pieces). No bites. I had a small stack of four of them. Opened two of them and dumped the Lego in a gallon bag and listed it again on Facebook group. Sold for $60. "Less than 8 cents a piece!5 points

Grand Carousel, Imperial Flagship, and UCS Falcon. I tell the story often that I would see the GC on display at Legoland California. Despite liking the set, and taking my (then 18 month old) daughter to Legoland all the time, I was still in my dark ages. I remember thinking "who would pay $250 for a Lego set?" *sigh* The Imperial Flagship because, after building the QAR, I've discovered I really like the Lego ships. And the UCS Falcon because, well, it's the MF. And it's a UCS. And it's big and awesome.3 points

I love to drive to Meijer at 6:00 am every January. I stop at the same gas station for coffee and play the same CD every year. It is fun, relaxing and like others said, there is the thrill of not knowing what awaits you inside the doors ( especially at the first stop). TRU is no different when they had the 20% coupon on clearance plus TRUTH, cant beat that. And for the heck of it, I drove all over the state once3 points

Clutchers Field by Steven Schapansky (@Legopolis). I know him as host of Radio Free Skaro, a big Doctor Who podcast. But he's also quite the AFOL'er. He's spoken of his 10179 before. I also secretly believe he's a member of this site. Saw this on his Twitter page. It's outstanding.3 points

He's not old enough to speak in code. He's very binary. Only acceptable answers are yes or no. I thought about playing dumb and pretending that I didn't hear the question, but realized he'd ask again, louder. I couldn't get out of there quick enough.2 points

OK... "amazonblkfri"... your first post in our community, and it is a shameless plug for your company... hmmm. Well, if you really work for Amazon you need to know that you don't have to encourage this group to watch for sales on your site... that's all we do.2 points

Made my 8th and final purchase today to complete my build of the Imperial Flagship #10210. Still don't have original instructions or a box, but I did manage to get all new parts and minifigures for about $285. Wish I wouldn't have been in my dark age when this set was available retail, but I just had to have it for my collection.2 points

I don't know about that. One mention of "senior discount" and he will leave us all to eat his dust.2 points

Yet another crackhead broke into a building on my property today. This one was wearing flipflops shorts and and a wife beater tan. Riddled with tattoos left behind his food stamp debit card fleeing when the alarm siren went off. No legos stolen or even seen by this guy. Should be easy to apprehend since I have his name... this one should appear on "dumbest criminals ever"... Later he came back and was looking for his card. Guess he got hungry. Cops were dispatched but he left before they arrived. Dumbest criminal ever.2 points

So if/when I do get a shipping notice I should expect endless bubble mailers with 2 in each or a refrigerator sized box filled to the brim with air pillows...or not.1 point

same here, 2 orders of 100 that just say "items located in stock" 1 order says 22 of 100 shipped Order of 500 says 315 cancelled, 184 located in stock. Guess 1 just didn't make the cut at all. Should of ordered 2700 instead and I would of received the 900 I wanted1 point

UCS Falcon - Had a sealed one that I sold a year ago for $3200. I don't think it'll ever get replaced in my collection as I'm not a big fan of paying $1000+ for a Lego set. UCS Snowspeeder - One of my favorite vehicles of all time. I may try bricklinking this but it would be my first project.1 point

Amazon's terms explicitly state that they don't such deals (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201125450) and, to top it off, you say that you're proposing to buy from Amazon 100 copies of a set that has been retired for 6 months and isn't even available directly from Amazon. I don't know what your angle is, but I don't believe you.1 point

The funny thing is that I dont live in a ghetto, but on a main road where everyone can see my car has not moved when I was away for 3 weeks. This happened a day of my return trip home. Luckily a friend of mine is a contractor so he fixed the lock hours aftet the first visit and I got a kickars surveilance/alarm system so I knew he was there seconds after it happened quater a world around. Anybody pick up the horizon expresses from tru in la laguna/tenerife?1 point

Well I got back from picking up the HP Lego for $225. They came from a wealthy family from Cohasset, Ma that is moving to California in 2 weeks. There 11 year old didn't want to sell but decided to because he was worried that they'd be broken in the move. So I grab the Lego and notice other tubs with Lego and I ask about them. They call the kid at camp to see if he'll part with the rest. He decides to reluctantly. So for another $325 I got these... I will have to get newer instructions because some a missing books. I'm fairly happy for $550. They had a ton of 1st release Ninjago that I passed on.1 point

Simpsons Series 2 minifigs for the collection - I went on blind faith with no smooshing and landed Fall Out Boy, Comic. Book Guy and Groundskeeper Willie. Can't believe my luck - these are the exact three I had at the top of my list. Now I really want the Kwik-E-Mart...1 point

This is a funny thread. A buddy of mine recently moved. As he was cleaning out his attic he came across his childhood lego collection. He knew I collected lego and offered a trade: I help move for a few hours for his collection. I still have yet to get through it all but there is a number of classic space, town and lego land from the late 70's to the mid 80's. I even found some of those red windows and grey wheels from the 60's in there.1 point
