Jeff and I have been told about a possible huge sales event Amazon is preparing for on July 15, 2015. We have a friend who works within the Robbinsville, NJ Amazon warehouse and they are ramping up for huge activity. My brother in law (who is a mailman) also let me know that they were told that the USPS was told to be prepared for double the Amazon shipments from July 13-18. A friend wrote me today to confirm our suspicions of a gigantic 20th Anniversary Sale that will discount many "Prime" items 25-50% OFF! While this is only a rumor at this point, it makes a lot of sense since Amazon's first day of business was July 16, 1995. There is too much smoke here for there not to be a fire. Get your wallets ready. If you are not a Prime member, now is the time to join.12 points

Well I got back from picking up the HP Lego for $225. They came from a wealthy family from Cohasset, Ma that is moving to California in 2 weeks. There 11 year old didn't want to sell but decided to because he was worried that they'd be broken in the move. So I grab the Lego and notice other tubs with Lego and I ask about them. They call the kid at camp to see if he'll part with the rest. He decides to reluctantly. So for another $325 I got these... I will have to get newer instructions because some a missing books. I'm fairly happy for $550. They had a ton of 1st release Ninjago that I passed on.6 points

Lol, this never ceases to amaze me... Had a Chima set new and unopened listed for $20 on a local Facebook group (about 400 pieces). No bites. I had a small stack of four of them. Opened two of them and dumped the Lego in a gallon bag and listed it again on Facebook group. Sold for $60. "Less than 8 cents a piece!4 points

Simpsons Series 2 minifigs for the collection - I went on blind faith with no smooshing and landed Fall Out Boy, Comic. Book Guy and Groundskeeper Willie. Can't believe my luck - these are the exact three I had at the top of my list. Now I really want the Kwik-E-Mart...2 points

Hey tac I once envisioned all of us experienced sellers coming together, agreeing on uniform packing and shipping protocols, and all of us fulfilling each others orders depending on region and sku availability. Basically a mini amazon setup dedicated to Lego products and our own website with no commission. It would be a mammoth task, but if someone ever got it going and used the amazon model with households rather than warehouses we could then expand into other items and land a big chunk of the ecommerce pie. Yep, I like to dream big2 points

Yet another crackhead broke into a building on my property today. This one was wearing flipflops shorts and and a wife beater tan. Riddled with tattoos left behind his food stamp debit card fleeing when the alarm siren went off. No legos stolen or even seen by this guy. Should be easy to apprehend since I have his name... this one should appear on "dumbest criminals ever"... Later he came back and was looking for his card. Guess he got hungry. Cops were dispatched but he left before they arrived. Dumbest criminal ever.1 point

Sold a GE for $300 on CL. Not really trying to sell these yet but someone asked for it and I can't resist an easy cash deal.1 point

I buy online as well as in store. Buying online gives me close to zero satisfaction. Buying in a physical store or shop gives me alot of satisfaction. Hence, finding that special, unique and retired set at RRP in a remote little toyshop or hidden treasures in a craig's list deal is the ultimate high. Yes, I like the money I earn. But if this would only come from online purchases I think I would get bored and slowly quit this hobby. Trading, buying and selling is in my blood. "Free enterprise" at its best.1 point

For many, this isn't a living or even serious investing. But it's the chase, the hunt, the fun of finding deals in stores. I make money doing this, but don't need any of the profits to pay bills. It's more of a hobby.1 point

I want to complain about people complaining about wasting time watching Transformers, as if that's the most shocking revelation in their lives1 point

I want to complain about the fact I wasted 3 hours last night watching Transformers: Age of Extinction. I will never get that time back!1 point

When people jump all over people - offended by words which clearly had nothing to do with the group that was never even being attacked.1 point

There's two main positives when hitting up local stores, first is the tax write off, from using fuel/time etc. Secound, the discounts you generally find in stores are impossible to find online. Sometimes the local stores have up to 75% off and entirely not advertised so the only way to know is to check. It also helps to know the stores because some offer discounts regularly, others don't. It's totally hit and miss but the feeling you get when you come across a Lego set either long retired or marked down to such a ridiculous price is priceless.1 point

Hold out, series 3 still sells for around £5.00 each, the American market is a lot different from ours. Our market tends to increase rapidly, I mean just look at the Golden dragon it's crazy.1 point

It will be more of an opportunity for some of you with mass quantities of a particular set to unload your lot in one sale. Like I said, Jeff is working on something right now and there are no guarantees that it will be made active, but I see potential.1 point

Built and promptly sold a 7783 Batcave for $250. Somewhat sad to see it go and was tempted to keep it as it's an amazing Batman set and worlds above the latest version. Have also sold several Indiana Jones sets as well as some train parts, about a $700 week which is pretty good for a small time guy like me fishing through a sea of bulk lego.1 point
