CSI: Lego Ban Team: Europe -Looks like we've cracked the case chief. We've cross referenced this user name in a highly complicated online algorithm called "Google". This Low Life Quick Flipper has been buying from us and getting end-user discounts and freebies then sells them at a markup to lazy consumers with more money then sense. Makes me sick. -I guess you've BUILT a great case. [crickets] ------YYYYYYYYEOOOWWWWWW6 points

Featuring the streamline mobile home style of American diners from the 1930’s and 40’s, here is the Hot Dog Diner offering plenty of detail such as a counter dominating the interior with bright red high counter stools, napkin dispensers, condiment bottles and a dessert display. Set up your short order cook in the kitchen where a fully equipped grill, refrigerator, coffee machine and a microwave are ready for use. There is plenty of seating for your guests near the window and even a classic jukebox for some oldie but goodie entertainment. A removable roof for easy access and the building is fitted with technic pegs to connect to your existing modular collection. So "doo-wop" on over to the Hot Dog Diner today! (Build uses around 1,175 pieces.)5 points

One thing I've seen that may help the value of this set; is the amusement park sets possibly becoming a sub-theme for Lego. People are building their own lego amusement parks and including the Haunted House as an attraction, just as the ferris wheel or mixer would be.3 points

You should be able to change an BIN to auction at no cost by going to click on that option in your My sales window.2 points

They shouldn't be included. Those items are embellished, and you are paying for the additional item/service (plus, I don't believe that many of those transactions are valid anyway).2 points

The story about the 2 men escaping prison in New York has been fascinating. And so are the confessions coming from the one that was recaptured. I heard today that the original plan involved a different getaway vehicle. One of the inmates had been saving his $0.17/hour laundry wages for years. Then he traded some "favors" to the librarian to use the computer. He ordered a LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon from Amazon for only $6,000, and he planned to fly it to freedom! Shortly thereafter, however, tragedy struck: his order was cancelled for reasons as yet unknown! He was unable to secure another UCS MF, and was forced to hatch a new getaway plan that we are now familiar with. But he never forgot the Falcon; it haunted him. And Canada isn't too far from New York! Thus began his second attempt to acquire the Falcon, this time on foot! Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Third time's the charm? P.S. $6,000 would buy a nice Sleep Number bed.2 points

EU sale status as of this morning, I may not have captured every single set and i've not include keychains and similar low price items, but hopefully it's the majority. Just refer back to my earlier post. I won't be picking up a 10179 but if I didn't have a 7965 I'd want it, just for the OT nostalgia. Like I said earlier this is *my* MF.1 point

Especially if you consider that MF and X-Wing are the police HQ-s of Star Wars. Their appearance can be expected just as much as the sun is coming up each morning...1 point

Can you upload or send me some photos? My dad has some really old sets that he keeps for nostalgia purposes and he might be interested.1 point

The yellow wavy flags for mustard is genius. The upside down criss-crossed window in the jukebox speaker? Sublime. Love it.1 point

Didn´t you know that every fairground also needs a ghost train? And which train is the most ghostly? Lone Ranger Constitution, of course!1 point

The 7695 is an OK set IMO...as with all of the non 10179 Falcons. I really wouldn't put too much effort into this set. Sell them and put the money elsewhere.1 point
-
Wow, that is outstanding. Hmm...add it to the Fairground? It could stand a Hot Dog Guy outside. I will have to seriously consider getting these instructions and making this build. I really love architecture like this, so seeing this in Lego form is awesome.1 point

Sorry for seeing these. Target's boxes are really trash... some big ones are too thin and flimsy for their dimensions. I have never got an intact big LEGO set from them yet. And watch out, if your ordered set uses about the same size box of 75054 AT-AT, sometime they just throw it in a plastic bag. Ridiculous... Okay, I have no idea what's just happening there ↓ ... sorry about that.1 point

Nice angle! But honoustly I do not think this set needs any help. It is a winner! End of story. Needless to say... I should have bought more!1 point

I believe once the seller has communicated the difference, there is no longer a difference so SNAD wouldn't apply to the buyer questioning the difference but I could be wrong...and of course unless I'm not understanding what's happening here...1 point

X-Wing is to Star Wars as Batmobile is to DC Superheroes. At least this one to me says "I'm Batman" more than the Tumbler did but still yet another vehicle for the caped crusader. Also the more I see the redesigned slimmed-down cowl piece, I'm not sure I like it better than the more prominent one from before. In this shot the helmet looks like it has tiny cat ears.1 point

I'll also take a gentleman's bet on this if there's another taker. If I can't sell mine for 10K USD (~12K CAD, fees included) in 2 years (Ebay or Amazon), I'll buy you a beer, or the other way around1 point
-
No bad vibes meant with this but t I would take a gentlemans bet with you on that If in 5 years this lego set hasnt sold for 10k I will paypal you a beer (max value £5) and if it does you do the same.1 point

No lego set will EVER reach the 10 grand mark, that is all.1 point

not according to the IRS nor basic accounting, the cost is still the purchase price. However, I totally understand your thought / reasoning.1 point

1. People are always interested but if you're going to try an entice members of this forum, the price will have to be pretty low. Returns on older bionicles are hit and miss with only the most popular sets bringing in top dollar. 2. Yes there are now fees. The fees are 2% of the total sale + your PayPal fees. Brick Classifieds takes the fees right away so you have no "monthly invoice." 3. Yes you can restrict where you ship. 4. Possibly .. there is a feature to sync with your eBay listings if you'd like to list it in both places. 5. Kind of an open question... take good pictures, consider fees here are quite a bit lower than eBay and Amazon so price accordingly, if you're listing has some good stuff in it will attract Bionicle collectors. If you have specific questions about a specific feature of BC, I suggest posting your Qs into one of the dedicated threads or the general thread. It'll probably get more eyes on it.1 point

Buying these for about $20 a pop at TRU ebay fire sale was a steal, even though it has been slow to move back up. It's selling for about $50 now so that's 150% above what several of us paid for. Unfortunately I may have gotten carried away and still have more than 50 of these...1 point

Depends on how many you have. If you have more than three I would sell. Also nothing beats cash-in-hand.1 point

You know, I recently gave a ride to a European tourist and videotaped him as we drove. He asked me the same question: "Niko, how do you keep your hair so beautiful? What conditioner are you using?" I responded: "When I choose a conditioner, I don't ask what the conditioner can do for me. I ask what I can do for the conditioner". The tourist then said "I think this is my hotel, please let me out of the car".1 point

A good general rule is to sell the sets that aren't appreciating rather than focusing on taking profits. This does not apply to QFLL situations, of course (better to have sold RI for $100 than hold 'till now and sell at $20), but HH is firmly retired and I think we've got a pretty good feel for the available inventory. It is also, as Jaisonline writes, a unique set that is not likely to be reproduced, well, ever. The new Monster CMF figures can only help. They let people flesh out their Halloween style lego displays with additional creeps, and CMF list price is so high now that even near duplicates don't really compete much with the HH crew. As an aside, Chinese culture very much frowns on depictions of graveyards, ghouls, and the undead in general. This may have the happy side effect of dissuading Chinese counterfeiting of 'monster' lego sets and figures (for what it's worth, I have not seen any for sale thus far).1 point

The 10188 is one of the most popular and iconic LEGO sets of all time. When it retires, it will be a wanted set and will appreciate very, very well...regardless of the next version. Collectors will want the 10143 and 10188 to go along with the new model, which will be different enough to be a set onto its own. Did the iconic 7191 lose value when the 10240 came out? No, because it was an iconic set. The 10144 Sandcrawler lost value because the new set was a UCS and a better version. It will be hard to top a 4000 piece, $400 set in my opinion.1 point
