I made my first sale, and it was a QFLL sale too! Flipped an Airjitzu Ninjago Flyer I bought at retail (9.99) for $19.99.3 points

Most recent Batcave for $185 CDN shipped on Amazon. Figure I made $60 profit off this $80 purchase less than a year ago.3 points

Unfortunately, this set sucks. There...I said it. As cool and collectible as the T1 Camper and Mini Cooper are, this set really cheezes out. It really should be another 400-500 pieces. If you are going to redo a classic car, then do it right. Sorry LEGO, this one is a fail.3 points

I made exceptions today. 10% off with the Merlin Pass. It was a pristine box, not use to that in my collection. Stands out from the other misfits lol tonight will be damage shopping2 points

We're dumping the kids at grandma's house this afternoon. I'm not saying anything else, though.2 points

My wife called me the other day and said she got an email with a 25% off coupon for Legoland (California). I was busy at work, so I couldn't grill her for details. But my mind immediately jumped to "dang! What exclusives do I want to pick up?" Thoughts of $300 DSs danced through my head (among other sets that I would be carry back to the car). About an hour later, I call her back, and she breaks the news to me - it's 25% off a ROOM at the Legoland Hotel! Don't toy with me like that woman!2 points

I got a couple things, some is 20%, some is 25%, really odd, but it worked with the 10%.2 points

Loved the premiere of season 2, just wanted to hit the Imperial March on an endless loop on my iPod. I know we have the new movies coming out in the next few years and the product line for this year has already been unveiled, but I'm really hoping they put out more Rebels sets - especially the blockade runners and command ship used by the rebels. How about a minifig of the grown up Ashoka? Maybe a new Lando figure? Lots of potential on this show, and the teaser for the season showed Rex making a return. W00t!2 points

Only one Mixer for me and it finally shipped a few days ago. Saving my funds for other non LEGO expenditures.2 points

He means that he's one of the worst people in this world, who straight up scams people by complaining about poor packaging.2 points

This is awesome. That V8 engine is a nice touch, I am glad they go into details.2 points

Agreed! The only reason I bought this set is because of the pic you posted sometime back with Smaug on top of T. of Orthanc.2 points

Architecture. If it weren't for that damn MBS, I'd have every one. But I just can't justify the cost to complete my collection. And modular (of course).2 points

Single set of every Mixel produced up to this point. I think the first series that I will have every single set is Scooby Doo.2 points

I have come to expect a few nicks, dents, and/or creases when getting sets from Shop at Home. They are either poorly packed (though not as bad as TRU) or manhandled by Fedex by the time they arrive. Overall they aren't terrible, but I did get a Red 5 last week that looked like it had been sat on so I called customer service and they setup a return and replacement for me.1 point

It was produced and distributed by Warner Brothers, but I'm betting LEGO retained the rights to the toy merchandising. I highly doubt they are paying WB a fee for the license, but I don't know for sure.1 point
-
yup, strangest company...different cashiers, different prices...1 point

I just used the 25% code today on the Arctic Icebreaker with no problems. I do have a TRU credit card and I used the coupon last week on the same exact set.1 point

Lego have to yank lots of products, to make way for the Star Wars overkill.1 point

It's ran the course and retailers no longer want to carry the LEGO Movie theme either. The CMF's have been the best investment from this theme to date, but they are also the first to disappear.1 point

I've never gotten free stuff by doing this (I just return wrecked lego boxes), but is it a scam if the packaging really is terrible? I've had hundreds of dollars in new, formerly MISB sets arrive wrapped in brown paper only (no shipping box), to give just one example.1 point

That steering wheel sticker is a bit off centre! Positives: A few unique parts that will make it hard to bricklink (rims and windscreen), price point (from a buying not a reselling angle). The main positive will be if it pushes T1 into retirement. Let´s see...... Negatives: I don´t see it having great reselling potential as it is a little too much playset for the liking of the AFOL market. It will also probably have a long and well distributed life. Hope there are some more Ferrari Technic models in the future.1 point

Is there such a thing as a mixel big shot?? And if so how many mixels does that require one to obtain?1 point

LOTR was what brought me out of my dark ages, so I have every set + Hobbit. Some of the smaller series were easy to complete: Monster Fighters, POTC, and Lone Ranger. I started on the modulars late, but have every one since GG now...don't know if I'll ever bite the bullet on Market Street and Cafe Corner...1 point

Yeah agreed, terrible investments. Buy anything else but these people, seriously, I mean it. Anything. Else. But. These...1 point

The asking price was around $425 and I redeemed ebay Bucks which made it around 325 and then with 4x ebay bucks I will be getting around $33 from that - so I feel like I paid around 300 even though the total came to just under $425. I really have wanted the set and figured waiting any longer would just mean a higher price point so sooner rather than later. And I think I will treasure this set just a little bit more because it's a special purchase/treat for myself.1 point
-
how exactly did you get it for free, when you complained they just let you keep it?1 point

We have all the CMFs even though we only got back into LEGO around series 10. I bought all of the series we missed and have been giving them as gifts for birthday/mother's day/etc for almost two years now. We like waaaay too many themes to try and complete anything else though I'd love to fill out my UCS collection.1 point

It is sad watching them go off into the sunset. I spent too many hours running around collecting them. But, this is truly the EOL phase, and now, I think is when quite a few people (not all, but enough to make it many) will stop and realize "woah, that was actually cool, I should have bought one". It will be interesting to see if there is a jump in these by the time the holiday season rolls around. I suspect there will be a bump, and all the lotr/hobbit sets will start to jump up in value. These were fun to collect, and only a few sets I didn't really care much for.1 point

Went to TRU. Used 20% off coupon + GCs to buy an IP, came with a GT polybag which I just flipped, making my OTD price on the IP = $89.10 (plus TRU points). Then went to Lego B&M, used $20 VIP points to buy my first TB and flipped the WS polybag to make TB cost = $207. Also picked up a PEE in the store for $7.98 + tax. Update Lego store in Concord NC... in stock: TB, UCS Tie, R5, S1, EV, S, PS, DS, & T No apparent stock: ToO, PC... and I don't recall seeing SOH1 point

Sold 3 Umbaran Mobile Heavy Cannon (or whatever they are called) for $120. Shipping was only $7 cause the buyer was nearby. Not a bad haul, these were from the $15 Target extravaganza. I sold a bunch of other sets too including Batman vs Two-Face, Barrel Escape, but it doesn't matter since these idiots never paid.1 point

...and any old-school ABS sets will be that much more valuable. Don't sell those HHs yet. I don't think LEGO is spending a billion to find biodegradable materials to "[force] you to buy more." One of the chief selling points of LEGO is it's collectability/value retention. TLG knows this. You buy more because it's desirable.1 point

Yeah, you and about 10,000 others prepping to dump these at Christmas.1 point

Not to mention, that ventilation shaft was too small...even for a targeting computer. And don't give me anything about womprats and T-16's either. Here is how I imagine this set gains popularity: 1) Dad takes 6 year old child to see the new movie. 2) Child LOVES movie, so Dad and child visit Lego Store for some sets. 3) Kid is focused on Kylo Ren ship or something new, but the Dad is thinking "Holy s****, look at these Legos! If only they had a really cool X-wing or somthing". 4) That's where I come in.1 point

no they do not stock these at walmart stores. They do sometimes ship large sets like that with a label slapped on. Most try to buy in case packs when buying the larger sets to try and get them shipped in a box. Some members refuse to buy large sets from walmart for this reason.1 point
