I made my first sale, and it was a QFLL sale too! Flipped an Airjitzu Ninjago Flyer I bought at retail (9.99) for $19.99.

Most recent Batcave for $185 CDN shipped on Amazon. Figure I made $60 profit off this $80 purchase less than a year ago.

Unfortunately, this set sucks. There...I said it. As cool and collectible as the T1 Camper and Mini Cooper are, this set really cheezes out. It really should be another 400-500 pieces. If you are going to redo a classic car, then do it right. Sorry LEGO, this one is a fail.

I made exceptions today. 10% off with the Merlin Pass. It was a pristine box, not use to that in my collection. Stands out from the other misfits lol tonight will be damage shopping

We're dumping the kids at grandma's house this afternoon. I'm not saying anything else, though.

My wife called me the other day and said she got an email with a 25% off coupon for Legoland (California). I was busy at work, so I couldn't grill her for details. But my mind immediately jumped to "dang! What exclusives do I want to pick up?" Thoughts of $300 DSs danced through my head (among other sets that I would be carry back to the car). About an hour later, I call her back, and she breaks the news to me - it's 25% off a ROOM at the Legoland Hotel! Don't toy with me like that woman!

I got a couple things, some is 20%, some is 25%, really odd, but it worked with the 10%.

Loved the premiere of season 2, just wanted to hit the Imperial March on an endless loop on my iPod. I know we have the new movies coming out in the next few years and the product line for this year has already been unveiled, but I'm really hoping they put out more Rebels sets - especially the blockade runners and command ship used by the rebels. How about a minifig of the grown up Ashoka? Maybe a new Lando figure? Lots of potential on this show, and the teaser for the season showed Rex making a return. W00t!

Only one Mixer for me and it finally shipped a few days ago. Saving my funds for other non LEGO expenditures.

We all know this isn't true but it might make lego think twice when it comes to this type of set in the future I cant see myself buying this at all, unless it significantly discounted As some one said earlier the Le Mans racer 42039 is excellent, and I can pick this set up for only £7 more Such a disappointment.

Target seems to have an algorithm that price matches Amazon on most sets. This goes for price decreases as well as increases, so the sets OOS at Amazon are going for their 3rd party price on Target. It's still a wonder why Target never price matched increases on Haunted House and Town Hall last fall.

I also got a Gallimimus for free with my Icebreaker. They had a box of them sitting behind the service desk. Time for some polar bear vs. dinosaur action!

(Shameful admission) I bought a Chima set from Amazon (cathartic, but still embarassing) and it arrived with nothing more than brown paper wrapping. The box was not only dented and smashed, it had been ripped open. Two of the bags were missing along with some wheels. I contacted the seller, who said this was how they shipped everything. I snagged pix and they dragged their feet, but I was eventually able to return the set for a refund - about a month later!! Fellow BPers: If this was you, or this is how you ship, please be up front with potential buyers so they can end the transaction before it begins or change your errant ways.

But once it goes to FBA, seller no longer have control how the product is packaged for shipping. Which is why FBA is a hit and miss for sellers. Returns can sometimes be the fault of Amazon staff as I have seen pictures on this board that they are shipping items without shipping boxes! Just slap a label on the retail box! If that was my FBA item and it came back as un-sellable and Aamazon will not reimburse for it, there will be hell over the phone with AZ rep

I think this is a missed opportunity. I do understand it's targeted for the masses, hence must be cheaper and that drives the number of parts and complexity. But the super annoying thing is that we're yet to see a proper nice car in the creator lineup to satisfy the petrol heads who love Lego too. I want a nice UCS Cretor set of a car...sports car of course, you hear the LEGO, I am talking to you!!!! This should have been 2500+ pieces set with much more details. F40 is an absolute icon and compromised set like this just doesn't make it justice. I guess it's another present for little Johnny from his grandma....

My own personal experience is that Amazon ships the Lego sets in oversized boxes with maybe a strip of large plastic bubble and that's it, the sets have a 50/50 chance they will be damaged, whereas all 3rd party sellers I've ever purchased through used excessive bubble wrap/packing peanuts/packing paper to make sure the expensive sets were protected well.

just make sure that you are not counting the rewards while making a purchase and also while redeeming (like you are doing now). that's double counting the actual gain. once when you acquire the ebay bucks and second when you redeem it. { i am not saying you are doing that purposely, it just happens. I used to do that too } but now i don't count when i earn it but only count when i redeem it. that way i am not double counting it. and exaggerating the actual value of reward. as long as you are careful anything works

The board as such looks okay/good but some more design would be great. I like the minifigs, but the fact that everthing but the pawns are totalle different characters is a minus for me. Of course you might remember in time what is supposed to be what but it would make more sense to chose the same/similiar minifigs for the same position as it gets confusion over a game of chess if you suddenly cannot remember who is the knight and who is the rook. Also according to their actual "power" it seems a little bit off that C3PO for example is a rook. All in all it's still nice and YOU have to like the concept of who is representing what, not me, so I guess that's allright! ^.^ Would have been cool if you added some minibuilds on the sides.

I must have missed the craze. All I saw was tons Hobbit sets sitting on shelves at Targets, until they put 30-50% off clearance stickers. My money is on re-sellers scooping all those discounted sets.

Other than TRU, Lego B&M, and a few small secondary chains, these seem to only be available online, which means they are stored in major retail warehouses. I'd expect them to be around for a little while longer, but this is a big sign that the end is near. I also think because of their limited release, that 3 or 4 years from now these 4 battle of the five armies sets could have a good resale value. I'm pretty sure the witch king battle and the lonely mountain could do well. Lake Town Attack and the Battle of the Five Armies may see only slight increases, but you never know. None of these sets have seen any sort of decent discount yet. Lonely Mountain was about 20.00 off in March, but that's the lowest i've seen. Amazon has sold them for 125 for a while now. Even still, all 4 of the Bot5A sets have great minifigures in them. Everyone always talks about Smaug, but the LM set also has most of the key main characters, other than Thorin.

So, some conclusions that could be drawn from the sale: Hobbit and Movie themes are finished. Last chance saloon to grab the few remaining sets in either range. Chima is being wound down - expect the last wave of released sets to go by Xmas. Ultra Agents is in the new catalogue but all sets reduced so much means it may be finished too. Suprise Arctic theme seems to be hanging around a while longer. A few odd poor selling sets like Exo, B wing and police control are being got rid of too.

This sounds a lot like one of those vague pledges, with an effective date far in the future, that governments and corporations love to make. I really hope Lego isn't serious. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Only about 5% of crude oil goes into plastic production, and there are far more wasteful uses for it than Lego. Say, disposable grocery sacks or those impossible to open clamshell packages that make small electronic devices inaccessible without the use of gardening shears. Not to be outdone, I've committed myself to being carbon positive by 2075. I'm assuming that by then I'll be able to gain photosynthetic properties by means of a revolutionary new gene therapy.

My biggest complaint about the Red Five is the dumb stand and how it tilts way too far back. It's like I can hear some lego designer saying to the lead designer, "Sir, it's quite possible that this R5 set is not entirely stable." The lead designer says, "Not entirely stable? I'm glad you're here to tell us these things." But then does nothing about it.

But Minecraft and the Ecto-1 are perfect little sets to reach broad audiences... Themes that will appeal to AFOLS, teens, kids... Prices that can also fit budgets by pParents, grandparents. The reality is that these giant sets aren't sure fire winners (though I would bet they do just fine) and LEGO already has their own product development pipeline way out in front of what we see. Small sets would be far less disruptive to that process... And far easier to get to market quickly before interest in a Cuusoo/Ideas set wanes.

Personally Star Wars is what brought me out of my dark ages and really the only sets that are a must have for my collection. I think it's evident that Star Wars is the best theme simply by looking at the time and money lego invests into it! UCS Star Wars sets--no comparison for me. I have branched out into collecting modulars/LOTR though.

I voted for Monster Fighters (hard to beat the Haunted House IMO) but would have voted for the Winter Village if it had been a choice. The Winter Village is the one area where I will buy the new set each year as soon as it comes out and not wait for a sale.
