This set will definately be back. It's announced as a new release for September in an official German LEGO catalog for the 2nd half of the year ("Juli - Dezember 2015"). So more buying opportunities lie ahead!3 points

I finally had the need to ship a set of Series 2 Mixels to California. The 11x15 Priority Mail envelope did the trick, with a little extra tape for good measure. It was only $4.99 with EBay's discount rate. Most of my shipments have been East Coast, so I never went the envelope route, until now.3 points

It's a great set, lots of people here doubled up instantly. (SW + MC + $10 set, was easily $200+ sales with the seasonal set thrown in). Even if it is abundance this xmas, stash it away to double up next year. No worries2 points

I will definitely miss the June coupons in July! These are the best coupons in 6 months...2 points

you might want to create a separate thread for your bulk purchase. i can help. just a side note: since you were away from Lego for 30 years, you might want to slow down with the purchases if investing. if you are building, then go at your own speed and happy building. investing isn't for everyone (regardless how much you love Lego).2 points

I'm not sure what sets I bought. Bulk lot Just over 65 lbs and 191 mini figs. Looks like a Dino T. rex set and queen Anne's revenge with the dark red sails. Bunch of Indy and Star Wars as well. Ok. Here we go.2 points

I can't explain how, because I didn't write the SYWR program, but I bought 2x MInecraft 'The Cave' and 2x 'The Farm' for $55 shipped. I reduced the cost by spending $24 in points plus surprise points and earned $23 back. I hope for some beautiful drapes to replace my blinds with.2 points

My TRU at least has a Chinese buffet attached to it, so I have that going for me. The Toys 'R Us Buffet, as I affectionately call it.2 points

Finally broke down and purchased my first 2 Palace Cinema and UCS X-Wing sets. I still think the UCS Sandcrawler is the sleeper of the recent UCS SW sets. Original trilogy Jawa toys have historically done well excluding the Hasbro / Kenner 1990s stuff. We are like a cult.2 points

Plenty of times on the forum, we see members pointing out good and bad deals from Craigslist listings. Recently I started to spend a little more time on the site to see what is going on. Overall I find some pretty cool finds from time to time. All aren't in my area, but I do like to look and see what is around. I put together a simple feature that will allow you to select several Craigslist regions and be able to look at all of them at the same time. You can also filter the listings by region easily to make it a little easier to see what is available in your area. This is a work in progress, but here are some features that I will be adding to it real soon: Keyword alerts New posts in your selected region alerts A page to view all the available LEGO listings in ALL areas so you can get a quick glance at everything that is going on across Craigslist Need to add pagination for those that are looking for a lot of areas and it downloads a lot of listings. I will have a lot of these features in by tomorrow, I just wanted to get some eyes on it and to see how it does. Please try out the feature and see how it works for you. You will first be asked to select the regions you want to monitor, then you can view those listings. The listings are updated frequently, so you will be able to see updates throughout the day. http://www.brickpicker.com/craigslist/1 point

Look at that bag to the left with yellow/purple pieces. Are those even LEGO? Looks like Knex or something. I would've considered for a bonus garbage truck, but seeing Knex in there has me running in fear.1 point

Thanks! It was a shop. They had another one. But it was pretty beat up. If I sell this one swiftly I will go and pick up the other as well.1 point

Waddamon - If you are going to SDCC and have not been before to get the LEGO exclusives then you must prepare yourself. There are many die-hard LEGO fans and scalpers going after these same exclusives and the per day allotment is usually small (like 75-100 of each exclusive). It may seem like a decent amount but with over 100k people at Comic-Con each day you will have lots of competition. They are doing a raffle this year for the chance to buy the exclusives instead of having people rush their booth first thing in the morning which is an improvement. However be prepared to spend the first part of your day going through a long raffle line and may the odds ever be in your favor.1 point

Yeah I saw the 15% discount with 1st purchase. I figure a 10188 DS might be in order (already have 1 though). Don't know if it's worth it to go with that or some other 100+ set in store and stack with the 20%. I don't think I'll get my CC until early July though.1 point

Just joined the Fb page, looks like this could be a better alternative to gumtree for selling, things don't seem to last long if they are reasonably priced. Also both UCS Tumbler and Tie Fighter will be available at the upcoming Target sale... reseller scum unite! :-)1 point

Seeing as lego has become such a high theft item, I'd be surprised if it's included in a sidewalk sale. I can't see them going from putting spider wires on every other set to just setting it outside where it would tempt potential thieves, even if it's just a bunch of clearance duds they are trying to get rid of. From my experience, usually when stores advertise a sidewalk sale, it usually consists of a bunch of junk that isn't worth the trip.1 point

I would like to see a fishing theme. Not somesome boring fly fishing crap! I mean a trawler or crab boat. I spent my youth building trawlers (grew up in a fishing village), some of the older boats from the 60s and 70s are very aestically pleasing. The modern trawlers are a marvel of engineering! I can imagine the power functions for the winches, derricks and netdrums! Lego could do deadliest catch, I'm sure it would have a good following in the American market. Maybe a UCS northwestern?1 point

Interesting noone has commented on the recent run on this set. From 700 units per month average it has shifted close to 1k units IN A WEEK in EU since the documentary was screened. Lego seem to have been wrongfooted too as delivery is 30 days.1 point

But Minecraft and the Ecto-1 are perfect little sets to reach broad audiences... Themes that will appeal to AFOLS, teens, kids... Prices that can also fit budgets by pParents, grandparents. The reality is that these giant sets aren't sure fire winners (though I would bet they do just fine) and LEGO already has their own product development pipeline way out in front of what we see. Small sets would be far less disruptive to that process... And far easier to get to market quickly before interest in a Cuusoo/Ideas set wanes.1 point

My wife and I went to the LEGO Store today where she bought me a TB and PC and also received 2 Winter Soldiers for Father's Day.1 point

It is rare that any set brings the meaty beaty big _AND_ bouncy QFLL opportunity this set was for Holidays 2014. Expecting it to be that way again December 2015 is like thinking DC was going to be a hit last year. Still, long term this set because of the dirt cheap buy in is a gold nugget. Easy 3x MSRP by Xmas 2017. SantaWo is such an investing lay-up, its nearly impossible to get your hands on any decent quantity. Meanwhile the actually retired WVM lingers like the smell of putrefied fish seared on a stove top.1 point

Great minifigures. Very colorful sets. I like these a lot as a fan and as investments.1 point

Yes, unfortunately in today's day in age, MISB is only a term. For all intents and purposes, almost any LEGO set can be manipulated...basically...seals removed, contents removed, seals reapplied. I can see a day in the not so near future that the important term will be VIB... Verified In Box Remember...I said it first.1 point
-
Ed Mack has stated repeatedly that the future of Lego secondary sales is in verified contents, not sealed boxes. I tend to agree. Seals are easy to peel and restick, and unscrupulous sellers have all kinds of methods to remove contents and re-seal the box so you'd never know. You really want to take the chance that MF box is filled with Mega Bloks, or would you rather buy one from a picture of all the bags laid out? Either way, as a seller I don't believe you're doing your business any harm by popping those seals and making sure you're selling what you think you are.1 point

When judging box damage or shelf wear, you have to ask yourself who is your targeted buyers will be. If its other collectors, than box condition is important. If it is your regular Joe LEGO fan who wants a new set to build and missed out on the LEGO set when it was available at retail, then box condition is not as important.1 point
