A long time acquaintance of mine, a Mr. Ralph Pitcher from Firebuy.com, has come to me with a tremendous offer. Ralph owns an equipment liquidating company which was hired by Target to remove store displays from over 1500 Target stores from across the US. These displays included many of the LEGO and toy displays you see in the toy isles of your local Target. He sold thousands of these displays over the past 4-5 years, many to me. LOL. He is a first class operator and is looking to sell his remaining inventory in one or two large transactions. Here is a basic list of what he is selling: Lego Cars 2 - 144Lego Gold Mine - 58Lego Friends - 135Lego Alien Conquest - 105Lego Monster Fighter - 55Lego Star Wars Pod Racer - 75Lego Fire Truck - 109Lego Heroica - 20Lego Star Wars Star Fighter - 77Lego World Racers - 61Lego Police Boat - 11Lego Legends of Chima - 4Lego Green Ninjago - 44Lego Red Ninjago - 4Lego Red Ninjago NIB - 2Kre-o Minifig Set - 43Mega Bloks Halo NIB - 75Kre-o Set of 2 NIB - 4Kre-o Transformers NIB - 4Kre-o Transformers - 8Cars 2 Race Track NIB - 1Disney Princess 5 Dolls NIB - 1Littlest Petshop NIB - 7 Combined, there are over 1000 LEGO displays available for sale. He is looking for $18,000.00(US) for the entire lot, which works out to less than $20 per display. To those of you who are familiar with these LEGO displays, they can easily sell for $80-$100 each, with many selling for several hundred dollars each. They are really some of my favorite LEGO collectibles and if you have the cash and the space to store these, you can make thousands of dollars from this opportunity. They do take up space though, three tractor trailers full, so anyone interested in buying a portion of the lot or the entire lot must have ample space. Ralph told me it would cost about $1500 to ship one container to California, so keep that in mind. He is looking to unload these quickly (before July 1,2015), so it's possible Ralph could work a deal with any potential buyer(s). His warehouse is located in Ohio. If Jeff and I had the space, we would pull the trigger on this deal, but unfortunately we do not. We are not making anything off this deal. Ralph has treated me well over the years and has sold me quality products, so I know he will be a pleasure to deal with. If you are interested and are a serious player, contact Jeff or I and we will put you in contact with Ralph. Good luck. Here are some photos of the displays...7 points

My kid wants 75093 SW Final Duel for his birthday next week. I've noticed it's disappearing from stores so I picked one up at Walmart a couple days ago at full price ($79 + tax) just in case I could do no better. Then today... I'm driving by the only TRU in town (the one that NEVER stacks coupons, or partial pays on Thursdays or anything) and thought, "Let's just check it out... maybe I'll use the 25% off coupon...). There was just the one sales person working up front... no checkout lines open... had to pay at the service desk. I took my 75093 to the desk ($84.99 + tax)... She: "Using your TRU credit card today?" Me: "Yes I am!" She: "OK... you saved 10%... thats $76.49 plus tax..." Me: "Wait a minute... can I use this coupon on my phone... the barcode that says "Bold Arrow" above it?" She: "Sure!... OK that's $57.37 plus tax... just swipe your credit card there..." Me: <swipe> ... partial pay $10... "I'd like to use this gift card on my phone, too..." (-14% more) She: "No problem!"... <scan, click, click>... "Thank you for shopping today!" So I'm out the door paying $50.65 plus tax. ... if I only had the balls to tack on the $5 off coupon, I could change my name to "exciter2"7 points

Dagobah Set Exclusive at SDCC 2015 Yes, please! Actually, this will be just as impossible (for me) to get at SDCC as the Celebration VII set. I'll be BL'ing this one as well.6 points

I tend to agree, though I could imagine wanting them both. I like the man-eating plant and decaying greenhouse in the SD set. Add in The Zombies, and you've got a great 'wrong side of the tracks' Lego town display...2 points

yeah scooby sets aren't hurting HH. Only thing that could ever possibly compete against it or make it less desirable is if Disney and LEGO do The Haunted Mansion down the road and its a larger set.2 points

My wife complains about the boxes showing up on my porch.... just imagine her face (and divorce papers) if three containers showed up on the lawn and drive way. LOL I would easily buy this lot but the whole 'where do I store them" is the main problem.2 points

I think it makes sense that the prequel sets will be the ones to get hurt, and everything else will do fine. Every SW fan I know, including myself, does not actually consider the prequels to be SW movies. Seriously. We're always quoting lines from the OT, but the prequels might as well not exist. They are pure garbage. Goofy battle droids running around saying 'Roger, Roger'. A talking salamander with a speech impediment. Argh.2 points

Nice thing about these sets is they are easy to BL, for those of use who dont care about boxes or manuals in our collections. but this is pretty sweet little design.2 points

If sets aren't immediately flippable while still on store shelves, and in production they're losers. Also it would be better if people just came to my house rather than making me ship them. Also, it would be even better if i didn't have to buy the sets in the first place, maybe just have people buy the sets themselves and send me the profit. Ok, i think that's the prefered business plan. Now to sit back and watch the profit rolllllllllllll in. My brickfolio CAGR #'s are gonna be SICK2 points

No but you aren't always going to pick the winner every time, that is my point. I have multiples and am very happy with their returns. I don't regret not having castles at all. I think people talk way too much nonsense and are way too critical, expecting the next big buck in a flash.2 points

TLG bean counters may be smarter than us. By sacrificing a single set (TH) they have guaranteed a half decade of resellers and collectors buying the market dry afraid of missing the next TH. Bravo TLG, bravo.2 points

My wife complains too of the boxes upstairs, but displays would really send her over the edge. But in a nice way!!1 point

Seeing the previews of the Scooby sets, I'm not sure the Haunted House will give any competition at all.1 point

I don't like this. No mention of hotcakes or TRU parking lot means your new strategy has some serious flaws. Back on topic: I think the best thing that UG has going for it is that it is a really nice set. Great build and great colors with a nice assortment of minifigures and some great detail. In the end I think that is what will help this set rise and end up being a very solid investment.1 point

Star Wars™ Kashyyyk Troopers from Kmart. $6 after $5 bonus SYW points. Used my 15% off Sears Paypal gift card to sweeten the deal even further. I ordered this at 9:15am today and it already shipped. It should get delivered tomorrow. For some reason Kmart treats me like a Prime+ customer.1 point

The big picture is this. Yes, there was another run, but much like the SSD that popped up sporadically last summer after it's last big run, if you don't get in when it's easy (now) you will be at the mercy of the big guy and his bots. F5'ing sucks.1 point

They may not have been cleaned out. It's entirely possible that they finally got word that they aren't supposed to be on the shelf yet, and pulled their stock. It happened to me a couple weeks back with the TIE Advanced poly. I had a number of people local to me tell me they picked them up at the same local TRU. When I went in there a couple days later, they were gone. I asked, and TRU told me they had pulled them off the shelf for a promotion the following week.1 point

Well I'd probably buy a dozen or two, but I'm not known for making wise decisions.1 point

built 40158 Pirates chess set today. I made a small mod since I did not like the "fix" LEGO used to correct their error about the wrong color orientation to the board. Their fix was to simply rotate the grid pieces by 90 degrees but I felt like that ruined the clean edge line the designer originally intented so I kept the original brick placements but swapped the colors myself. I have included a photo to help illustrate.1 point

couldn't let all this red 5 availability go unanswered. 4x red5 spread out over last 48 hours, orders only placed when showing IN STOCK availability at shop at home. no new order placed until previous order had advanced to the IN WAREHOUSE state. 3 of 4 have shipped. last one is in warehouse. these were all to the same VIP account but each one went to someone different (wife and 3 kids). these 4 are on top of the 2 orders i had placed earlier in May and early June which also shipped in the last 3 days. banhammer monkey is asleep at the wheel or on summer sabbatical.1 point

Haunted House $499.99 incl shipping. EBay That was about a year earlier than I expected.1 point

I see you keep bringing this up Ed and I have to wonder how much of an impact it really has? I honestly don't know if the extended backorder times for sets this year is due to reseller hoarding of potential EOL sets or production limitations by LEGO. They are producing so many sets and themes right now that I think it's contributing to the stock issues. If the reseller hoarding was causing significant delays to EOL, then why did we see so many exclusive sets get retired last year (SSD, HH, TH, GE, SC, AA, R2)? I think resellers were targeting those just as hard last year (with the exception of maybe the TH) yet they still retired.1 point

I believe this (ToO) is a case of resellers being their own worst enemy. Why would Lego retire anything that is sold out for 30 days at a time. (Every run they make is already pretty much sold.) It's pretty much like printing money.1 point

it varies by state, however if one trespasses, steals and tries to run away with your property you technically have the right to protect it by all means necessary, especially in the rural south/southeast. welcome to america where you can buy a rifle and a bible in one store and on the same day. BTW one the safest neighborhoods in the southeast, if not in the whole country is the one that requires every household to own a firearm. Kennesaw, Georgia1 point
