  1. Big Harry potter score off CL. The ad was just for one set but when i arrived he offered a bunch more. About 10 sets plus a Viking ship throw in for good measure. $200

  2. TLG bean counters may be smarter than us. By sacrificing a single set (TH) they have guaranteed a half decade of resellers and collectors buying the market dry afraid of missing the next TH. Bravo TLG, bravo.

  3. So I managed to purchase all in pictures for $1000. Very satisfied with the condition of sets. All are complete as per visibility.

  4. Hello Guys, just went before 2 weeks to the Legoland Bilkund, and clean out the R2's. It a was amazing and stupid situation ;). Four adults with 13 R2's on the cash counter. People looked and thought stupid germans or anything else. It was a thrill!

  5. I thought about selling it but decided to hold off as I would not be able to buy them again for that price. Now they sit on my display. Also did end up buying Town Hall. Green Grocer, Pet Shop, Fire Brigade , Grand Emporium for $1340 (all used with boxes and manuals)

  6. I just wanted to say that I received my 5 Painting Easter Eggs from Atlantic Bricks and the transaction went very well. I also received a Tumbler from The LEGO Man that was a positive experience as well.

  7. All my profits either get re-invested or go towards sets or pieces for personal use. The investments are growing though, so the ability to cash out and use that money somewhere else is always there (though not simple to liquidate). My wife complains a bit as we never "see" any of the profits, that's ok though as I quickly distract her with something else to complain about

  9. This is a really cool take on the hulk buster suit. I love the scale of it and as I've said before I'm a sucker for any set that has a mech in it. Looks like a really cool build. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/103777

  10. Not sure I like the new cabinet from Ikea, not very big and cheaply made. I see it being replaced as soon as I find something better.

  11. As a long time buyer of high end used LEGO sets, the box will not make it sell any quicker. What will sell your item are pictures of a completed SSD with all the pieces and instructions in very good condition. Personally, I buy these large and expensive used sets all the time to build and I rarely crack open a MISB set (unless it's for my son). These sets are bought to build and many buyers don't care about the box. Just my 2 cents...

  12. Great looking set. My family like the movie as well. It's one of those movies that starts slow, but if you give it a chance, it really is well done IMO. The more I watched it, the more I liked and appreciated it.

  13. You could say the same about the Delorean and Ecto-1. Delorean is doing quite nicely since it went EOL.

  16. My wife will be staying home this Fall, leaving a 10+ year career of teaching. This was a difficult decision that we've postponed for a couple years while we pay down debt on credit cards and vehicles. One factor in the decision was the supplemental LEGO income. It won't match her salary, but she can now hang out with my 4yr old son, run the kids around, enjoy a longer summer, take a vacation during the school year, and just relax a little bit more while we raise 3 children. Her last paycheck is in August. A few months after that is when the holiday shopping season begins and I'll begin to sell some of our riper sets. I can't wait to sell my first SSD and drop that Paypal balance into our account. She still gets frustrated when new boxes arrive on the porch and empty boxes and shipping materials fill her office space downstairs. I can't blame her for that. We have boxes and shipping supplies everywhere! I try to keep it out of the way most of the time. She understands that most of it is necessary for us to achieve our financial goals, so she is pretty patient with me. Brickpicker has helped change our life...and now I can't wait for the holiday selling season to get here! Disclaimer: if you are new to Brickpicker, reselling, or LEGO investing please don't read this as a get-rich-quick success story. It is anything but that. There is more to the story than LEGO. In fact, LEGO is only part of the reason we are able to make this decision.

  17. After seeing his post I thought "wouldn't it be cool if I checked CL because of his post and made a big score too and then posted about it. glorious!" so I went out an checked CL. Mind you, I havent been there for a long time. Pages of absolute reseller crap. Mountains of crap. Dump lots of crap. Selling NIB stuff that just released and isn't sold out. CL in my area is a cesspool of bad resellers. I am happy I was buying bulk before this happened.

  18. Yay my lego.com order of 2 Ecto-s and a Winter Soldier has arrived. (per fedex tracking) Yay my USPS order was picked up successfully (though with an email note about a difference in the number of boxes i requested them to pick up) Get home, no Ectos from fedex on my porch. Lightbulb, never schedule a USPS pickup when you have packages inbound. Lesson learned. #FacePalm

  21. I also had a positive experience with The Lego Man on brickclassifieds. We made a deal for some birds, ghostbusters and pet shops. He was very responsive throughout the process and shipped everything very quickly.

  26. The PO will deliver anything. What he described is exactly what the letter sorters do to letter envelops that are bulky. You should never send lego this way. Poly / paper bubble mailers are the correct way to go. I would refund or send out a replacement. Sorry man, hopefully it was a cheap figure.

  27. While I don't think this set is a "home run" due to its predecessor being a better set, 6860 is already selling above retail less than a year from retirement. You could do worse with your money, and for sure won't lose money. Your biggest issue with the price getting up is that many here bought this and Daily Bugle for $30/$40, so they don't need it to go up in value as much as you at retail to make similar ROI.

  28. I saw the film today, and admit I liked it. After seeing it, I think i'm definitely purchasing a few of these sets for investments.

  29. Generally each month my mortgage is paid for by reselling ($765). Only about a third of that is Lego however. I flip the Legos far to fast to be able to take advantage of significant gains. My wife is fine with random piles of random games & toys around the house and she even packs and ships about half the merchandise to Amazon. That all being said, if it didn't cover $750 a month in household expenses, I or the toys would be out the door asap.

  33. These days, anything is possible. I think we're early on EV, though, at least until it goes limit 2 at LEGO Shop at Home. I have only one, bought at 20% off, and will probably pass on the set at MSRP. It's just a lousy deal, and I'm not convinced that AFOL's love ewoks. They do love jawas, though, so SC is on my list. If nothing else, I can motorize one of them with power functions and post youtube videos of my cats riding around on it. Instant fame and riches...

  34. Stopped by TRU and they stocked a few MTT. Carried one up to the counter and asked if they were honoring digital coupons yet? I mentioned the stores appear to be all over the place with the policy. She said no, no pictures either, only existing ones on their website. I showed her the 25/20 bar code, she frowned, said no, reached into her pocket and gave me a legit mailed version. Rang me up, scanned it, and then gave it back to me. $58.96 after 13% gift card.

  35. Having built Jurgen's Ultimate 42009, Ultimate 8043, PF Backhoe, and Orange machine all I can say is WOW! For Technic super fans there is nothing like them in complexity of build and functionality. You could literally teach someone to operate an excavator with his models as the control are almost exactly like a full size machine. Of course the parts list is also Wow, cause the PF backhoe makes the SSD and DS sticker price look downright affordable.

  37. Reselling lego is working for your money. Investments like stocks is your money working for you. Nothing wrong with either (I do both) but I expect much higher returns if I am working for the money. And, working for your money is a double dip ... each you you spend working is an hour you are not spending doing something (else?) you enjoy.

  38. Favorite part of filming this set is all the mini figures that can be piled onto all the other pirate sets. Worst part of the set is that the pieces don't fit under the board even though LEGO made it seem like that would be an option. Bonus is the I reenacted a famous game from years ago (aka - Game of the Century).

  39. Gentleman.... no more woman bashing. Period. Also, equating someone who is complaining that a set for girls encourages gender stereotypes to a "feminazi <something censored>" will not be tolerated. Consider this an informal warning. We have a lot of female members on BP and they deserve our respect. The comments in that link are funny, but making fun of females for it is out of line.

  41. Ordered another PC along with Winter Soldier. PC says will ship in 30 days. Hypothetical question: What if I find one in my local Lego store a couple of weeks from now. Will I be able and call and cancel my PC order, and will they let me keep the Winter Soldier promo and Legoland coupon? I really don't want to give up the Legoland coupon. *snicker*
