You guys really need to stop feeding these crooks. I hope it wasn't from this guy as all his listings were just pulled... http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/cheapest-furniture-for-you All of this moron's listings were using stolen images and the listing text (or lack thereof) was a dead give away that it wasn't the seller. And by the way, worst case scenario is that PayPal and eBay keep raising their fees to cover losses from this type of crap.8 points

NEWSFLASH: one of the reasons Ebay/paypal fees are astronomical is because of the "oh well if it's a scam they will protect me" mentality. Y'all wanna blame ebay and paypal for being greedy and having exorbitant fees when in actuality it's the people's greed that is a major cause of the stupidly high fees. Good job everyone.........golf clap.4 points

Mind you i have not watched this series since the first couple seasons. Can't find a set number to add to the title, but if someone else knows it and can edit go for it!3 points

Personally, I got most of my HD's for between 60-75, so if I were to sell TODAY, I'd still call this a huge win. I sold my Uruk-Hai Armies this Christmas and did fine, but they are $20 more now than they were just 5 months ago. My basic strategy involves 2 years after SAH availability, and Helms' Deep is November of this year for that mark. I have no doubt these will hit $250, and rising more than that I don't think is out of the question. As far as when to dump. the same kind of applies to me - Alien Motherships are the most recent set I "dumped" (and basically broke even) - This past holiday season. Same deal, they passed 2 years retirement, and really hadn't moved. I gave up. 7962 PodRacers were kind of the same deal, they just didn't move much over the last year I had them, so I moved them (still at a profit) but not as much as I planned when I bought them. Monster Fighers will be hitting 2 years in Nov for the most part too, and I admit I am pretty surprised/disappointed in this sets growth. I felt it would do better than it has, but similarly, if I sold all of my stuff I'd still make some money, just not quite as much as I had planned. We'll see how it goes this holiday season. Obviously, needing the money for other investments is a factor as well. If I really feel money would be better spent elsewhere, I'll make a move. But as part of my general business plan, I'd rather make X amount of percentage on my purchase as opposed to needing to sell after a specific date - but I think that plan really requires more of a devil may care attitude and more cash reserves than I currently have. And there are exceptions, Tie Fighter 9492 had only been gone 8 months by Christmas, but I moved all of mine because I tripled my investment. I figured that was pretty good, and maybe the set will contiue to grow, but I doubt it will grow much more that it made it worth holding on to at that point. I felt the growth of other sets would be better. I assume everyone has their own plan and goals and thresholds. Some people I've noticed dump stuff really fast, others dont mind holding on forever. There's opportunity cost and time cost to factor in to constantly flipping, or holding on to sets. As I've said several times, I think it's most important to simply have a plan and some numbers to prevent yourself from overspending and getting into a tight spot. The worst time to sell (or buy) anything is when you need to.3 points

7 uniquely printed figs, new printed elements and the piece count, even if most are small. This is actually far from overpriced. Just look at any City or other sets in this price range with this many figs.2 points

jeez. sauromosis beat me to it. at least i can list the sets with USD and CAD prices. ha Hoth Bricks has published the official set names of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens sets that are scheduled to be released on Force Friday, September 4th. We already knew the set numbers, the pricing, and number of pieces for the sets which came from BZPower but it’s nice to get confirmation of the set names now. Rey’s Speeder (75099) – 193 pieces $19.99 USD / $24.99 CAD First Order Snowspeeder (75100) – 444 pieces $39.99 USD / $49.99 CAD First Order Special Force TIE (75101) – 517 pieces $69.99 USD / $89.99 CAD Poe’s X-Wing Starfighter (75102) – 717 pieces $79.99 USD / $99.99 CAD First Order Transporter (75103) – 792 pieces $89.99 USD / $109.99 CAD Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle (75104) – 1004 pieces $119.99 USD / $149.99 CAD Millennium Falcon (75105) – 1332 pieces $149.99 USD / $179.99 CAD2 points

Same here. I sold all of mine this past holiday around $225 plus shipping each. My average cost was $100. I probably cut bait a little too early, but I didn't want to be left scrambling to dump mine with everyone else once the re-release was officially announced. Now is the time to get out in my opinion. Put that money into something else. Even if you bought at retail you will still be making a decent profit, and I don't expect the 7965 to increase a lot more once the new version is released. Maybe once the first wave of episode 7 sets come and go, we may see the 7965 jump in value if collectors want an original trilogy version.2 points

Here's the official product description: Indulge your inner genius and build this LEGO® version of Leonard and Sheldon's living room as seen in the hit American sitcom The Big Bang Theory! This set was created by two LEGO fan designers-Alatariel from Sweden and Glen Bricker from the USA-and selected by LEGO Ideas members. I would not link 'toys you love' with ones that would "make you money" because there is a good chance the money part won't happen. (and/or even if the set appreciates he won't want to sell it anyways do to sentimental value) If you want to go this route I would buy 2 of each...one to love and the other to speculate.2 points

"Dad can I get the CHIMA phoenix temple? The mini figs are so cool!" "Come on Son! I've taught you better than that. The CAGR of that CHIMA set is pathetic! You're getting a Parisian Restaurant and that's final! And if those instructions get ripped, you're grounded!"2 points

Legitimately stolen you mean... the image of the Helicarrier was stolen from this URL. http://www.dayonepatch.com/index.php?/topic/118958-new-toy-lego-shield-helicarrier/ Report those listings folks, don't buy hoping it will show up and support that kind of crazy. I guess I should write up a blog about how to spot a fraudulent eBay listing. I'll start with how to reverse search for the images (try it, it's easy: https://images.google.com/), then go on to say that if the listing description is "BRAND NEW! SEALED!" and the Item Type is "Minifigures" it's probably not legit.2 points

Yes, the Big Bang Theory is renewed through the 2018 season, 3 more years. I`m not a fan of the show, but the popularity is unquestionable. Not sure if I agree with you on this or not, it`s not a classic, but it also is still on air (for 3 more years), so no test of time really, unless you are looking at now. To renew a show for 3 years all at once is extremely rare, so CBS has placed a lot of stock and faith in the program. If this set has a shelf life of 1-1.5 years, you could still see high ROI while still on air. If it manages to maintain and grow a cult following, you could see even larger demand and returns long after. Bottom line, the set is solid, really, it`s quite good overall, but it isn`t released yet, and when it is we will undoubtably have plenty of time to analyze investment prospects and hedge bets accordingly. My opinion right of the bat, it will do quite well, and if it is a limited release, well, better stock up for Christmas, we could see another Minecraft BOOM! under the right circumstances.1 point
-
I'm sure availability will be extensive given that it's a licensed set, so that should put a ceiling on where this set could go. I wouldn't expect another RI situation for this one. And I don't even know if it's great for a long term hold because, despite it being popular during its run, that show is hardly a classic and will be instantly forgotten the day after the series ends.1 point

With the global shipping program the item only needs to be delivered to the ebay warehouse/hub. Once delivery is confirmed to the hub (where ebay repacks and send to the end user) you should be fine. I sold an item through the gsp earlier this year and it was "lost" in the mail in the end users country. The tracking info just dried up. The funds were put on hold for awhile but I got to keep the money from the sale. Thats why I like the gsp, once you deliver it to ebay, you dont have to worry about it anymore.1 point

You've put "the feds" and "mobsters" on the same level by calling them "competition". I'd call that judgment (and a bad one, but that is my opinion).1 point

Well I'm curious under what circumstances it happened then. Want to share or keep with the world's out to get me attitude? What "I guess you read both sides on the internet so it must be true." means is that without a real story I don't believe a word you guys say. On the internet, everyone has a story and I don't know if it's true or not. PayPal says they never will, some hothead says they do, PayPal says that's impossible, some sweet innocent person says they did. PS You can f* it all you want, but it doesn't fly. How about trying to be helpful instead?1 point

a bit late to the game, but involving the police is the way to go. They will start a crime report. Since you have excellent pics of the perp he will more than likely become apprehended. I had my front door kicked in last year and fortunately I have an alarm system and the door sensor was triggered after one of the kicks. By the time the idiot got in the alarm was going off. He didn't get very far. So my course of events would be to: Report it to the policeSet an explosive trap. (think deer urine, poop or even building materials)Leave a box with a note on it that says, "Look to your right and smile mother F*CK*R" "I'm in the bushes behind you!"1 point

We caught vandals on video wrecking our Christmas light display and breaking into the make a wish donation box (empty at the time). The cops came out for the report. Sent a message to one of the local news stations. At 5pm, all of the major network news stations were reporting live with their vans parked on the street. The video was everywhere now. A couple of weeks later, the young girls who were caught on video went to work and their coworker friends let them know about the coverage. They saw the news videos and turned themselves in to the police. The monetary damage wasn't great so the cops told me on the phone after talking to the girls that likely charges would not be filed but the girls didn't need to know this if he wanted to drive them over to my house and try to scare them straight with a restitution plea. So they brought them over and they each made a donation to make a wish and I got the officer to chuckle when I told the girls, "Since you clearly have experience in taking down the display, you can help me take it down this weekend." They did and they turned out to be decent young adults who just got way too drunk and lost proper judgement. I ended up hiring one to help put some display pieces together the following year. And one of the news stations ended up doing a follow up. So, never underestimate the power of the news stations in solving these cases. We have had package thieves as well in our area and one home owner caught them on video and the local stations ran it for a week. Having the media cover it also puts pressure on the local police to solve it. The day after our vandals were on the news, I heard a radio commercial for crime stoppers describing our case! And I wouldn't worry about retaliation. Afterall, they will know you have their picture and they would be suspect #1 if something should happen. They will want to stay off the radar and hope things pass and none of their friends rat them out.1 point

What you should do is workout a bromance with you UPS man to get something like this: It's fool proof and people won't even know that it is there. All sarcasm aside, I think what has already been said has been the most helpful. Contact the Police. Think of the robber, probably expecting something really expensive, opens it and finds Lego Bricks.1 point
