I am not sure what I am missing, but the set had an MSRP of $160. It's now been off SAH for apx 6 months. I am seeing an average sold price on Ebay apx 280-290ish. I am not saying those are earth shattering returns, but after 6 months and with so many people unloading them NOW... I am even more confident this will be a long term winner. I guess I am just not sure what some folks are expecting in terms of growth/speed. I think if you talk about a set's growth before it goes through at least one holiday shopping season, you're wasting your time and energy. Patience. This is also the worst time to sell of the year, so take current prices with a grain of salt. If one year from now this set is still selling for 280ish, I will A: Be shocked, and B: Be concerned. I just don't see it going down that way. All that being said, I think with the stark uptick in LEGO investors in just the last year or two, and the state of the economy as well as the increased products LEGO has released, people still have some unrealistic expectations of returns. Personally, I think this is a GOOD thing for long term investors, as I am hoping to see some of the latecomers give up quickly and also that it will discourage further new folks. I'd kind of compare it to Diagon Alley - A set that MSRPed for $150, and now about 2 years later is selling for about $320, with a peak during the holidays of $350 ish. I think Arkham will be similar, maybe with a top end of $400 ish after two years off the shelf. As far as I am concerned those are fantastic numbers, you'd still be doubling your money (or close to it) if you paid MSRP and got no promos/deals.2 points

It is Sydney Opera House not Simpsons House. If you buy one from shop at home, get some mixels on sale at the same time. all problems of this thread are then solved, voila1 point

Back on topic, something tells me Mixels series 4 are retiring soon1 point

For some thoughts It depends. What series and what price. series 1 at $1 a piece the entire series? Buy a trailer load series 2 at $2 a piece the entire series? Buy a trailer load series 3 at most any price? Skip1 point

Caught this guy again, reported 2 postings for an Imperial Flagship and a Maersk Train with about 2 minutes to go. He really should change his MO, everytime it's a seller with on feedback from the same Chinese seller, alwaya based in Hungary, but delivery is from Austria. You think he'd shake it up a bit.1 point

Shhh, don´t tell him! His keys are in the ignition of his 18 wheeler all ready to empty the store.1 point

Anaheim Ducks goalie Frederik Anderson went to a LEGO "Brick Wall" themed LEGO for this season, I didn't notice it until just now watching the ANA/CHI game. http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/5/21/8641703/anaheim-ducks-goalie-lego-helmet-frederik-andersen There's a closer look. Pretty sweet!1 point

Your 100% correct on all counts that's why I buy a bit at each sale and never clean stores out. It's only a means to help pay for the expensive hobby we (and our kids too of course) all have. Unfortunately Bricklink is getting more expensive now too, I have a Ferris Wheel on the way and was hoping to add in some red gondola parts but within days the parts either disappeared or skyrocketed in price, so had to pull the plug on that idea. This sale I managed to get another couple of DO and a couple of PC. I have a few slave 1's already so gave them a miss this time. The one big problem in Australia now is you never know if this is the last time big popular sets are coming so if you want to invest in something don't presume it will be there again later in the year.1 point

more Red5s, DS and EV. if you aren't doing duplicates than yes TB and tumbler and a simpsons house. But Star Wars Fever is coming soon and it will be contagious and irresistible as is any good forbidden dance. Here's a preview.1 point

Best part is, it goes back together after you smash it on the ground to get your money out...1 point

The new film and holiday season will be an excellent 1-2 punch for this in November and December. I would like to see LEGO tackle a UCS BB-8. I want one, but only if it can be equipped with power functions. I want a giant ball of LEGO to chase my cat with:1 point

Not only from a collector standpoint, but seriously just look at it! It looks so much better than PA! Maybe just because of the "tower" structures, but that's enough to add dramaticly to the playability value (for kids and adults ^^) also check out the features (shown in the video!) We asked 100 kids which of these two sets they would prefer and 95 prefered final duel! (four didn't enter the van and ran to their parents and one wanted the promised ice cream which we didn't have...) (no real kids have been involved in this statistic! ;-) )1 point

I can't wait for this set, as others have said already in respect to all of the sets coming out this year, our wallets will take a big (and welcome?) hit this year. Detective Agency, Slave I, UCS Helicarrier, Ferrari, Tie Fighter, Ferris Wheel, and Kwok-E Mart, not to mention the ones I have forgotten to mention or haven't been announced yet (Hoth Base, Millennium Falcon). Start saving now.1 point

The arctic helicopter is probably the sweetest skycrane lego has come out with so far. It just needs to lose the skis and attach a belly with a snorkel for it to be a really nice fire themed helicopter.1 point
