I might be in the minority, but I thought having the 1 thread for other products you buy and sell worked well. It was one thread that kept everyone on topic, people minded their own and it was pretty popular. Having the new website, going through it and hunting for what you want doesn't seem as productive ( spend way to much time searching through topics) and I find myself checking it maybe once a week if i'm lucky vs here I visit 10 times a day even thought I spend my time on both, due to convenience and enjoyment factor. There's only 150 people that signed up, and on any given time there's 150 people on here. (give I get that this has been around longer). I feel there might have been a solution created when there wasn't really a problem. Any chance you can unlock the thread here and let us keep going about our business that way?6 points

You keep bringing this up about the makeup / cosmetics and how people thought this board was a juggernaut. Don't think anyone ever said that. Once you made it clear you didn't want it on there that was all it took. Only 2 makeup deal posts were ever made. Cinderella got by just fine with no hoopla and a lot of happy people seeing it doubled instantly. The next one was what caused the issues apparently. Not a big deal. Don't think you ever heard any backlash from myself after it, yet you've mentioned on more than one occasion about cosmetics / makeup over 3 months later. I made one or 2 posts about the whole way it was handled. That's it. Investorsell came days after all that blew up so to speak and obviously at that point most didn't feel like participating in that with the way some things played out. Everybody has moved on and most get this is a LEGO only website. You asked us to move on and it would be nice if the same happened on your side. Seeing I'm the only one who ever posted the cosmetic deals it gets a little old. Not sure what the point of it is.4 points

I don't think you're in the minority. I feel both the "other products" thread and the old way the "brick trader" page was set up were better and easier to use.4 points

1. Pre-measure and weigh your box. and then use ebays "Calculate - Varies by buyer location" shipping option. This option checks Canada Posts site for you and give the buyer a quote based on the ir postal code and the dimensions you input. I solely use this method so i do not get screwed over somehow. I've never had it calculate incorrectly. It also saves you work from getting quotes for buyers. 2. To my knowledge regular parcel includes tracking already, but i use expedited as it is much faster and the cost difference is minimal. Actually i believe it is the ame price if shipping through paypal? Or that may only be top rated sellers i can't remember. All i know is i pay the regular parcel price on expedited packages. If possible send anything to the US with "Canada Post - Tracked Package" much cheaper than expedited cross border. 3. Insurance is purely based on how you feel about what you are shipping. If you feel that sending that $800 SSD across the country is too risky - insure it. Lessons: Redghost got it right Aside from that; don't do flat rate shipping, it will cost you if you make a miscalculation.3 points

I looked at buying the Lego Mixer set but the cost was pretty prohibitive so I decided to build my own. I hope you like it and any feedback is appreciated. It's taken me almost five months and was pretty difficult as I'm new to Lego and there was a lot of trial and error before I managed to get it right. The ride breaks down, just like the real thing and fits onto the truck bed and into the other truck in the images. I have a youtube video which shows it working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrgOIbpqKl02 points

Wasn't that thread in members-only area? What search engines?2 points

There have been two situations over the past year or so in which these Non-LEGO threads have morphed into undesirable situations between members and Mods. "The Other Toys" thread was originally fine, but then other Non-LEGO investing threads started going into areas not appropriate for a LEGO site. Jeff and I like the extra activity from those threads, but not the hassles. The InvestorSell site was created for these discussions. There is very little moderation (basically zero) and topics can basically range into almost anything...as long as it's legal. Unfortunately, neither Jeff nor I have any interest in these Non-LEGO discussions, so we cannot offer anything of value, but that doesn't stop others from sharing information. If people made even a little effort, it might work well and be what everybody wants it to be. Jeff and I don't mind supporting the site if people actually care and post once in awhile, but these Non-LEGO threads will not be coming back here anytime soon.2 points

Doing a quick google search, I came up with this interesting thread, started last week, on an unofficial target employees website: http://www.thebreakroom.org/index.php?threads/reseller-ban.11637/2 points

It is free. Each group would need a leader or person who would invite other members/be in charge. Simple.1 point

I can't speak for Ed, but I don't think he is pointing at you about cosmetics. There was cosmetic talk on the site long before your mentioning of it.1 point

Sure they are toys, but everyone loves money no matter where it comes from! Just have to show your SO how much can be made with the hobby. Girlfriend has more TH's and GE's than i do right now so i'd say i did a good job at it haha. Wow, sounds like a lot of work!1 point

I have printed both, one on accident since the beginning of May. Stupid suggestion, but make sure you don't have residential address selected. IME, residential address lets you use Home Delivery and non residential address lets you choose Ground.1 point

Except for the train... you cannot even dump them at buy-in. And I bought them cheap, dirt cheap! Well... lesson learned. The days that westerns were cool and kids playing cowboys & indians is over.1 point

I have lots of sets in that size, VW Camper Van, Quinjet, Mines of Moria, Sopwith Camel, Batcave, Goblin King, Pirate Ship Ambush, Republic Gunship, Olivia's House, Jabba's Sail Barge etc. So, I need to have several on hand.1 point

Buying bricks is insanely expensive; especially when buy in bulk (5+ on each set)... doesn't help with TRU keep pumping out 20% off with $10 off coupons and all the rare finds lately X_X1 point

Sold my last The Goblin King Battle, after fee and shipping...$123. Decent enough profit on a heavily discounted set. Glad I'm done with the set since the box dimensions didn't fit any of the 4 most common sized shipping boxes I already have in bulk. Cutting and doing a custom box is pretty low on my list of fun things to do.1 point

Trying to look at it on the bright side...the time I save not having to stand around waiting for red shirts to manually key in the info will far exceed the time I invest in maintaining detailed records and obtaining a refund from the state. I hope. Although those funds could be used for more investments while instead I will need to wait for refunds so I will be losing out on capital.1 point

Built the Slave I, the final product is awesome, not so much the building process. Also excepted the model to be sturdier that what it is , def not a "play-set". Major drawback for me was the cockpit .. Too it didn't automatically adjust to flying/landing modes.1 point

Did a bit of polybag hunting today as i was out and about all over the GTA on other business. Vaughan Discovery Centre i found A-Wings, Rebels Tie Advanced, City Go Kart, Creator Tiger, and the Chima/Ninjago polys we all see at every TRU. And a Friends poly, but i didn't check it out. Also the alien spaceship and monkey monthly mini builds. Across the mall at the TRU i was able to find a bunch of the Jurassic World polys, left about 6 or so on the shelf. Most TRU's now also seem to have the small City Swamp Helicopter out on the floor that was a promotion from last week i believe. Also found this in the window of the Discovery Centre. Have more than enough myself, but i'm surprised no one has asked to buy this from the display! Definitely did not have any on the shelves inside (Referring to 21110 if anyone's confused :P).1 point

Here's some info that may or may not be useful. I've been offloading extra and damaged battle packs from KMart promotions on EBay. My lots of Kashyyyk Troopers sell at a much more brisk pace than my Death Star Troopers lots. I pretty much sell 3 KT sets for every 1 DST. I also plan on hoarding a good bit of Kashyyyk Trooper sets for post retirement.1 point

There are always some legit reasons for the drops (skyrocketing prices are usually a bit more hard to justify). Here are some for the ones you mentioned: 10187 - Yes, the 10187 prices really started moving when the Camper came out. There were probably more people who wanted this set after the Camper came out than wanted it during its retail availability. 10184 - The Modular Town Hall, and Cinema sets have made this once seemingly amazing set seem much less so. There would likely be a gas station modular as well, but the environmentalists may have killed that possibility. 10190 - The most rare piece (5 Dk Blue arch) was made available in the 10235 set (which immediately gave the set an $80-$100 haircut). Plus, it is a bit ugly, and lacks the official modular stamp. 4954 - Since 2007 Lego has continued to produce many Houses and Modulars that far exceed what this set had to offer - In 2007 it was incredible, but today - not so much.1 point

I like Vancouver, WA in the USA. No state income tax, and tax free shopping just over the bridge in Oregon. Easy to get a mailing address in Portland. Sure the weather sucks, but it rains money.1 point

Thanks for posting about the Kmart mobile coupons last night exciter1! I was able to get a LEGO city atv patrol (60065) for $1.96, an ultra agents spyclops infiltration (70166) for $4.99, and I used some surprise points and another one of those coupons to get the avengers hydra showdown (76030) for $4.991 point
