Meant respectfully you will make more friends if you do not post every time someone has a deal what the lifetime low for the item was implying it is not a good deal, nor make authoritative statements like you did. someone already stated this and I think you continue. how do you know LEGO Shop at Home will not have it last? I don't think that statement is accurate or known. unless your just trolling the site for fun.7 points

Simply put...rarity. This set will never be rare. The Grand Carousel was never stockpiled. Most people on this site don't have one. Most people on this site will own a Ferris Wheel...or many more.3 points

Blown away. The moving safety platform is an awesome touch. And $199! Compare this price point to the 10240 Red 5; what a value. This is easily the finest release of 2015 (pending the Ferrari), and one of the very best designs and sets of the last 5 years. It's huge! Minifig scale! It integrates perfectly with the modulars. This is clearly an investment homerun, and will be well bought. Even then, every future AFOL will want this set after EOL; I can see demand for this rivalling the very best of other EOL sets. I think this set will set the benchmark for what a great exclusive can do in the well-hoarded era, provided it doesn't become another TB or DS with infinite life. (I almost wish the price point was above $300 to discourage some hoarding/investment. At $200, this set is a great deal). This set is so good, it makes the Mixer an almost insta-buy for investment purposes. Given that 99% of future AFOL will want this set, some subset will want to complete the theme with the Mixer.3 points

I want to see somebody moc this up with some led's to light up the Transparent pieces on the spokes of the wheel. That would be pretty badass. Happy with the $200 pricepoint, seems like you get a lot compared to the $150 of the prior set.3 points

Interesting timing for it to disappear right when i'm going into hoard mode on this to get my quota. They forgot to include the LEGO cigarettes and smoke-making brick for this set - I watched this movie last weekend for the first in a long time and I couldn't believe like in every scene they are puffing hard on cigs - i was a teen seeing this in the theater when it came out and don't remember it being like a nonstop smokefest but man, how the times have changed. Now they would be vaping it up - maybe you could trap a ghost in a vape refill cartridge.3 points

To cut a long story short, some of us investors are wishfully thinking that PS and PC will go this year because we like the idea of short production runs (PC) as that makes us more money, whereas the more prudent suggest that PC is premature. The most pessimistic even feel that PS is not done yet. Truth is we have no real idea but as with Lego sales it is always more fun to speculate about what might happen than wait for the actual event. If you are building a portfolio, it is a good idea to get some of all 3 to cover base as you never know. Later, extras can always be added when there are promos.3 points

Both HH and GE have - and will - perform fantastically well. It's a fool's errand to try and pick which one you "should have" invested in with 100% hindsight. Each of these sets is a clear winner, and you didn't make a bad choice in investing in either. You'll drive yourself crazy in this game if you try to retroactively question your portfolio with "what if" questions". Heck, with what I know today I wish I had invested every dollar I had in NIB sealed Market Streets. Worth about $1500 today, with an initial buy-in of $90. Percentage wise, they've done even better than the holy grail Millenium Falcon and Grand Carousel.3 points

To resolve this dilemma call LEGO Shop at Home they will tell you they have plenty in stock. Seriously. You all do not have to debate this any more it is a system glitch and at least the US LEGO Shop at Home I was told has a ton of them in stock. Take it to the bank, hotcakes and TRU parking lot.2 points

Just throwing this out there... Fairground Mixer and Ferris Wheel. Okay great. Now, start adding in Jokerland. And Joker's Funhouse. And the Go-Kart polybag. And the Hot Dog Stand. And the Flower Stand poly. The pieces are there for a true Fairground to be hatched.2 points

Not having a clue about baseball, I'm guessing a triple is 3/4 of the way round the diamond thingy? Sounds about right to me.2 points

We will look for hints for *anything* *anywhere* On topic...I am *so* excited for this set. I, personally, have been waiting for this set since it was rumored to be coming. I'm very happy about the price point, I'm extremely happy with the power functions, and I just *love* the look of this set. This is a home run for me, and I'm going to get this as soon as I can, and get this built as soon as I can. I just absolutely love this.2 points

Awesome. Price is good. Will be adding the power function for sure. We'll see what other sets Lego reveals this year...but so far this is my candidate for '2015 set of the year'.2 points

The White House sells insanely well. I don't know when it's going to go (if) :), but I have no doubt this will be a winner when it goes - assuming they don't immediately replace it. This holiday season I specifically paid attention and watched area B&******'s stack about 100 of these, and they all sold without issue.2 points

Is this illegitimate info to post on the site? Others, like this guy, would be curious to know as well. Was just about to go order 5 of these, freaked out that it's no longer listed. Any confirmation that it's just a glitch? I currently own zero, and don't want to be left in the cold on this one. Seems destined to do well for the initial price point. 25 pages of replies indicates some of you agree with this sentiment...1 point

How about: Everyone is right or everyone is wrong but EVERYONE can enjoy what looks like a beautiful display piece instead of debating whether this will make you 2.5x or 3x your investment. It looks like a winner and we can all profit from it in the future and that's what matters.1 point

I agree with a lot of your points. The question I have is how much will an AFOL pay for this in the future? It is a rather basic design, even some could argue childish. It is a fair value and cute and creative, but will the AFOLs of the world shell out big dollars for a set that is not in the same league as the Grand Carousel, Taj, Mahal, Eiffel Tower, any Modular or UCS STAR WARS set?1 point

Ok my initial feelings just by looking at the Ad picture was not great, but after watching the designer video, I'm LOVING this set!!! Clear winner here. $200 price point is much better too.1 point

just like i thought with the fairgrounds mixer, i just wish lego would include soundbricks with these carnival sets.1 point

Hmmm, can we agree now that "FW" refers to the Ferris Wheel, and not Fallingwater?1 point

Don´t panic! There is no way they sold all that stock in one day - I bet it´s crazy uncle at the wheel of the hyperlink truck again. What I would say is that when they do such a large restock compared to previous ones it could mean that this is the final run - It´s something I am following on the data to see if there are any patterns - do regular small restocks mean no eol in sight and big ones like that of ecto or EV mean the end is near? Or maybe there just isn´t any logic.1 point

Bit late (only just saw this), but this is great! I love R2's model, except for the blocky/study-like head. Now don't get me wrong i'm not against studs being visible, but R2's whole body is pretty much barren of visible studs. So to have a blockyish head with tons of studs was always a bit contrasting. I've placed an order for these parts and looking forward to rounding him out Thanks!1 point

Thirsty, I'm not trying to call you out but, this post is a perfect example of why anyone thinking about getting into this needs to sell a few items BEFORE they wind up with a portfolio worth $70k. Buying is easy, finding deals is a thrill. Selling, no matter what platform you're on is hard. Anyone doing this needs to know that. Good luck, I've sold on eBay for over a decade and am, for the most part, happy with it.1 point

Fairground Mixer - brought it out of storage for the summer display with the modulars. Also built the Lego Movie 2 in 1 Ice Ceam Truck for more city related detail.1 point

I always build the set. Take pics built with all minifigs, manuals, and box if available. Then take it apart and bag everything. Once again pics with everything bagged. I have always gotten top dollar like this.1 point

Hi there! I'm a new potential investor and part time lego builder who works as an environmental education teacher in Florida. I thoroughly enjoy playing legos with my 6 year old daughter and seeing how amazing she is with them. I look forward to chatting and learning about lego investing with you guys and girl(s).1 point

I am a southern gal and will be 65 soon. I am big into Halloween and grandkids and bought the Haunted House and became hooked. My 5 year old grandson is over the top regarding Lego and we build together with help from grandsons' dad who is coming more into the dark side with us now that he is building with his son. I do mostly the Modulars but will stray occasionally into other themes if the mood strikes me. My dining room table is covered with Lego in various stages I was stunned that Lego is collected for investment purposes. The secondary market for retired sets makes one head spin and wallet empty!! Bought the Black Pearl on eBay...wish I had been into Lego when it first came out! Found this site looking into the release date on the new Avenger Heli1 point

I'm a 32 year old guy I think I got out of my dark ages back in 2007. I think the main reason behind that is because I had more disposable income and could get back in touch with a childhood hobby. Now I get to develop a real collection for my son and do a fair amount of investing on the side. It's interesting to see how a younger investors can take advantage of all the information and collected knowledge out there. It's nice to get different perspectives when it comes to gauging a set or themes popularity. Great subject choice!1 point
