  2. Meant respectfully you will make more friends if you do not post every time someone has a deal what the lifetime low for the item was implying it is not a good deal, nor make authoritative statements like you did. someone already stated this and I think you continue. how do you know LEGO Shop at Home will not have it last? I don't think that statement is accurate or known. unless your just trolling the site for fun.

  3. The intro sequence that has been on the last few designer videos (Helicarrier) has the Ferris Wheel in it... "DESIGN" words of the intro sequence... Screenshot from this video at 1:08... Anything look familiar from the N above? So which ones are we missing from the other letters?

  9. Simply put...rarity. This set will never be rare. The Grand Carousel was never stockpiled. Most people on this site don't have one. Most people on this site will own a Ferris Wheel...or many more.

  10. Blown away. The moving safety platform is an awesome touch. And $199! Compare this price point to the 10240 Red 5; what a value. This is easily the finest release of 2015 (pending the Ferrari), and one of the very best designs and sets of the last 5 years. It's huge! Minifig scale! It integrates perfectly with the modulars. This is clearly an investment homerun, and will be well bought. Even then, every future AFOL will want this set after EOL; I can see demand for this rivalling the very best of other EOL sets. I think this set will set the benchmark for what a great exclusive can do in the well-hoarded era, provided it doesn't become another TB or DS with infinite life. (I almost wish the price point was above $300 to discourage some hoarding/investment. At $200, this set is a great deal). This set is so good, it makes the Mixer an almost insta-buy for investment purposes. Given that 99% of future AFOL will want this set, some subset will want to complete the theme with the Mixer.

  11. I want to see somebody moc this up with some led's to light up the Transparent pieces on the spokes of the wheel. That would be pretty badass. Happy with the $200 pricepoint, seems like you get a lot compared to the $150 of the prior set.

  12. Interesting timing for it to disappear right when i'm going into hoard mode on this to get my quota. They forgot to include the LEGO cigarettes and smoke-making brick for this set - I watched this movie last weekend for the first in a long time and I couldn't believe like in every scene they are puffing hard on cigs - i was a teen seeing this in the theater when it came out and don't remember it being like a nonstop smokefest but man, how the times have changed. Now they would be vaping it up - maybe you could trap a ghost in a vape refill cartridge.

  13. To cut a long story short, some of us investors are wishfully thinking that PS and PC will go this year because we like the idea of short production runs (PC) as that makes us more money, whereas the more prudent suggest that PC is premature. The most pessimistic even feel that PS is not done yet. Truth is we have no real idea but as with Lego sales it is always more fun to speculate about what might happen than wait for the actual event. If you are building a portfolio, it is a good idea to get some of all 3 to cover base as you never know. Later, extras can always be added when there are promos.

  15. Both HH and GE have - and will - perform fantastically well. It's a fool's errand to try and pick which one you "should have" invested in with 100% hindsight. Each of these sets is a clear winner, and you didn't make a bad choice in investing in either. You'll drive yourself crazy in this game if you try to retroactively question your portfolio with "what if" questions". Heck, with what I know today I wish I had invested every dollar I had in NIB sealed Market Streets. Worth about $1500 today, with an initial buy-in of $90. Percentage wise, they've done even better than the holy grail Millenium Falcon and Grand Carousel.

  17. To resolve this dilemma call LEGO Shop at Home they will tell you they have plenty in stock. Seriously. You all do not have to debate this any more it is a system glitch and at least the US LEGO Shop at Home I was told has a ton of them in stock. Take it to the bank, hotcakes and TRU parking lot.

  18. Just throwing this out there... Fairground Mixer and Ferris Wheel. Okay great. Now, start adding in Jokerland. And Joker's Funhouse. And the Go-Kart polybag. And the Hot Dog Stand. And the Flower Stand poly. The pieces are there for a true Fairground to be hatched.

  20. We will look for hints for *anything* *anywhere* On topic...I am *so* excited for this set. I, personally, have been waiting for this set since it was rumored to be coming. I'm very happy about the price point, I'm extremely happy with the power functions, and I just *love* the look of this set. This is a home run for me, and I'm going to get this as soon as I can, and get this built as soon as I can. I just absolutely love this.

  22. Awesome. Price is good. Will be adding the power function for sure. We'll see what other sets Lego reveals this year...but so far this is my candidate for '2015 set of the year'.

  24. The White House sells insanely well. I don't know when it's going to go (if) :), but I have no doubt this will be a winner when it goes - assuming they don't immediately replace it. This holiday season I specifically paid attention and watched area B&******'s stack about 100 of these, and they all sold without issue.

  26. Its gonna retire first, last and only at SAH. Walmart, target, amazon etc have nothing to do when TLG decides to retire set. It will be long sold out by the time SAH slaps a retired tag on it. I ordered 7 orders of 3 hoping for sealed cases from walmart with in store tax free pickup. I think this is a temp glitch but still there is always that little chance that its not a glitch.... $$$. Either way ecto-1 will slime us all in benjamins.

  27. Didn't they start off with Cafe Corner and Market St together right off the bat in Oct 2007 and then in March of 08 introduce Green Grocer? Then Market St and Cafe corner retired in 09 and Fire Brigade came out in 09. Then early 2010 was GE. Late 2010 Green Grocer retired and quickly in 2011 came PS. Then add in TH before FB retired. Once FB retired PC was not far behind. Then came PR. Then TH and GE went away but DO was added. Seems to me they have always had at least two and typically 3 or more.

  28. There is a rechargeable battery box, it runs about $50. If you're handy you could wire it up to an AC adapter. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Power-Functions-Rechargeable-Battery-Box-8878

  34. The closeup pics of this set are fantastic! I really think Lego has hit an absolute home-run with this set, a true new flagship for a new theme. Love the minifigs, the ticket booth, the loading ramp, the ice cream stand, and the design of the wheel itself. Really love all the flowers and trees, too! Just beautiful. Honestly, this is a pretty worthy follow-on to the Grand Carousel, and that's saying something. BTW, looks like they recommend an 8883 M motor for this set, based on the photo on the back. That settles it, I need to order one to inspect and build, purely for business and professional reasons, of course.

  37. I think it's a huge mistake not to include Power Functions on this set. If any set requires it, it is this one.

  38. I just noticed it's priced €20 less at Ireland/France LEGO Shop at Home and only €280 at Germany/Italy LEGO Shop at Home. Spain is €320 for some reason. This set is huge and it's an iconic building. If there's a similar set that hasn't made money, I haven't heard of it. Scarcity on the secondary market will be this set's biggest plus IMHO.

  42. Hello everyone, been lurking for about a week now just reading posts and enjoying the community, but only made one post so far. I live in the Midwest (Ohio) US, and I'm a 32 year old Software Developer. I've been playing with legos since I was a child, and currently have two children that are also lego enthusiasts. My 9 year old daughter loves the Friends sets and has been eyeing the Elves sets lately. My son is 5 and he seems to be drawn to the City sets, especially the ones with police in them, but his favorite right now is the cargo truck (60020). Last night we put together some Ninjago sets and he's loving those as well. We made a youtube video to introduce ourselves to the Lego hobby world, hope you enjoy:

  45. 34, project manager for a large aerospace company, residing in the Pacific NW with a husband, 2 girl children (4 and 1), and 2 big dogs. So far none of them have eaten any bricks, although not from lack of trying. Loved legos as a kid, and got back into them when a coworker gave me the women scientists last year. It's been a bunny hole since then and now every room in the house has legos.

  46. This is getting kind of sick. Many of you go and clean out stores without thinking twice about what you're doing, but when you're on the outside looking in, you complain. Enough is never enough, and when you have it all, you still want more. Instead of thinking of others, you only think about yourselves. It seems like you get the thought in your heads that only resellers are buying LEGO or looking for the next deal, and 'if I don't buy all of them, another reseller will!'. Exercise some restraint and leave some for others. You don't need everything. Some non-resellers are actually looking to purchase a set when a sale arises. I'm all for getting a deal on LEGO, but at the same time, I know I'm not the only person who should benefit.
