Basic human psychology dictates that someone who has multiples of any one set will think it's a winner and try to convince everyone it is. Anyone who has 0 of a set will call it a loser and try to convince everyone it's a turkey in an attempt to make themselves feel better about not having any. It's hard to get an unbiased opinion around here. It is what it is.5 points

What's wrong with make $60 on a $250 investment in less than a month? If that's not worth it, I'll take it for you. Thanks Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Brickpicker mobile app4 points

Found a lonely Valentines Dinner at Ross for $7.99, felt it best to bring it home and place it on eBay. I think that may be the first item I've ever purchased at Ross, the retail employee in me was screaming in agony at how disorganized that store was.4 points

I bought a 10182 cafe corner for 200$ Off of craigslist. I've been flipping Legos from craigslist to eBay since Christmas and I think I'm addicted. There's so much good information on here I just want to say thanks and good job!4 points

SMH. This set lowest resale was 50% markup; it's now nearly x2 MSRP and continues to rise as smaller seller stock is running out. SR is stable and doing well. Most one off minifigures do well -- reference CMFs. Specifically, Series 1 : nurse. Specialized area with single unit will command a premium. By saying 60 eur = x3 MSRP is not 'a lot', That's hard to figure. None minecraft at 35$ is selling at 105$. Modulars hitting x3 MSRP takes quite a long time too. Fire Brigade still isn't there. Space Shuttle is just getting there after 3 years.3 points

Hello everyone! Here is another project that I just submitted on LEGO IDEAS, also based on the movie Captain America: The First Avenger. Several months ago, I just posted the project Red Skull's Flying-Wing Chase on the forum. Chech this link: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/12477-red-skulls-flying-wing-chase-my-lego-ideas-project/ For more details, please check the link below. If you like the model, please give your support. Thanks a lot! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/98141 THE STORY This project (392 pieces) features the scene from the movie Captain America: The First Avenger. After a gun fight with Captain America and Bucky in a Hydra base, Johann Schmidt turns into the Red Skull by tearing his face apart, showing the audience his new, horrible, red face. He is going to escape with the cosmic cube in his jet. Unfortunately, Captain America and Bucky fail to stop this bad guy because of the big explosion in the Hydra base. THE HYDRA JET The jet (173 pieces) is built mainly with dark grey, light grey, black and some dark red bricks. The front cockpit can open and fit one minifig, probably Red Skull himself. It has two flick missles on both sides. The three big propellers on the back of the jet can rotate freely in 3603 points

It's just meant to gauge what sets are selling for in the current market. Has nothing to do with financials. Just gives a guide for others to see what things are going for.2 points

It is the "What LEGO set did you sell today and for how much?" thread not the "what was your exact P&L analysis of such said sale" thread2 points

If you look deeper in the flyer some select LEGO sets will be 30% off (Monster fighters, Galaxy Squad, City, Castle, maybe more?) so keep an eye out for those.2 points

I'd love to see the Dolphin Cruiser retire. It's been out for awhile now, so it should be coming close to retiring. I think this set will surprise a lot of people once retired. Many of us were disappointed when it didn't perform as well this past Christmas like it did in 2013, which probably turned some people away from it's long term potential. Once it's gone, I think $150 is very attainable, if not a little more. That should bode well for those who got in around $50 or less. I've got a fleet of 24, and I'm kind of glad they didn't get flipped this past Christmas.2 points

Yeah, that was the only reason I went in there. Happened to be nearby and had some time to kill waiting to pick up my son from practice.2 points

Welcome. The best advice I can offer is to read, then read, and when you finish read some more. Also before you go on a buying binge sell a few items just to get a feel for the process. Buying is easy, selling isn't.2 points

I started collecting Lego just recently so I missed all of the discounts. I needed the set for the Wonder Woman and Lex minifigs to complete my JLA collection so I happily shelled out $26 for it. I would have paid $30-35 easily. If $40 makes a good return for you six months from now, then it's a winner.1 point

I meant to get some more Arctic Batman sets but didn't get around to it. I'm really debating about investing in future Super Hero sets. Too much uncertainty with minifig refreshes and certain sets becoming duds. With this theme it seems like you really need to know what is coming out the next year to see if you should sell, as the new sets that are released might contain previous minifigs and that could hurt the value of your set.1 point

I really like those big guns and the bike. The jet is pretty rad too. I don't think I have seen a more perfect setting for those large skull faces than here.1 point

Those that haven't paid yet need to get that done or will be dropped before the draft. If you aren't planning on playing please say so so that we can plan accordingly. If you haven't paid at draft time you are not playing. Please get it done as we draft in 4 days.1 point

Ha, that's what I said. Where did yours put them? Mine put it in the back corner end cap of the toy section. Pretty much on the opposite side of the rest of Lego.1 point

"Marathon" sounds like a lot of good OLD episodes - just what I was talking about. So no surprise many people watched it. Ratings are at an all-time low. Why does a cancellation still seem so doubtful?1 point

Since Family Guy debuted... 16 years ago? The Simpsons will go no where until Groening and Fox decide they're done. Its the toughest sets to judge future value... need a very specific cross culture audience that grew up with the Simpsons that also want their kids to do so with LEGO.1 point

There have been many minor comments the last week or so that didn't really impress me as being fair and carefully stated. There was not one particular comment or person to whom I am referring to or I would warn that person in private. My statement was just in general, but served as a warning as well. I am the first person to crack a joke or be sarcastic and don't want to be some tight ass moderator, but everyone must understand that there are all types of people on this site. Very young, very old, all races and nationalities, male, female and somewhere in between I'm sure. It's all good. People just need to make sure they are careful the way they present their ideas and topics and that it will not offend someone. I've had my fill of some negative attitudes and will weed those characters out in time. People can constructively disagree without being nasty or insulting. I want to keep this site fun and friendly, which it has been for 99.9% of the time. That is all... :-) Ed1 point
