Over the past few days... 79111 constitution train chase for $113 shipped. eBay. Paid $50. 79008 pirate ship ambush x 4 for $91.50 each shipped. Bricklink. Paid $30 each. 6869 quinjet aerial battle x 2 for $88 each shipped. Bricklink. Paid $50 each. Glad these are gone. I've been trying to unload some of my duds lately. Will help pay the red card bill that should be coming soon for the 55 steam rollers I recently acquired...lol. I'm completely out of Chima, only have 2 ninjago sets left, and now only 2 Lone Ranger sets left (trains). Has anyone else noticed that Lone Ranger seems to be picking up lately, or is it just me? I've sold all of my Comanche camps and silver mines and am down to only the two trains. I've never adjusted my prices either. It always feels good to unload some dead weight and still make some money on it.8 points

I've made great progress on sorting/identifying my $200 Craigslist bulk lot purchase from Sunday. All of the following were in lot, and all were complete. MF 4504 had all the minifigs and accessories, 7676 Gunship was missing 2 figures. The Mindstorms was complete, and works great. All the Technic vehicles were complete, and fully working, including remotes. The 42006 included the power functions kit, 8293 I've built about 60% of the parts from the lot, what's left looks more generic, though it appears there's still a 10205 My Own Train left to build, as well as a Mindstorms RCX. Not bad for $200. In the pic, below: 8043 Excavator 42006 Excavator w/power functions 8293 9398 4x4 Crawler 4054 Millenium Falcon 7676 Republic Attack Gunship 8547 Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 3367 Space Shuttle6 points

Farnsworth is already officially retired and by amazon price already seems to be profitable flipping immediately. Shocked you leave any behind. If your store refuses the coupon, don't bother arguing. Just buy the cheapest thing you can find along with the falling water, say a pack of gum, or a book mark. Hand them the coupon, if they say it doesn't work on lego, say fine its for the gum. They scan it, the system WILL allow it for the highest price item in your transaction because the coupon does work for lego OTHER THAN LEGO IN THE TOYS & GAMES dept. IE: architecture (other than studio, mindstorms, DS, R2-D2). The cashier will make a funny face IF they notice, and you walk out with your item. Return or enjoy the gum as befits your gum preferences. When you speak of me,,,,,speak kindly. ****also note, this is not a hack, this is not cheating, this is how to get around a B&****** employee, whose misunderstanding of corp policy prevents you from using the coupon the way its intended to work. In their defense, their boss probably said, hey no coupons on lego anymore. They didnt read/understand their own fine print.3 points

Here is another vendor to add to the list. GBE Packaging Their prices (per box) seem to be better than ULINE esp. with shipping. (fyi: you will save $ by shipping to your work/commercial address)3 points

If you plan on buying/refinancing a house or buying a car in the next 6 months, it may have an impact. Long term, it won;t impact it, and will most likely even raise your CS.3 points

$4 each is $36 a set, a little more depending on tax. They all fit in a $6 flat rate padded USPS envelope. So $42-$45 cost out the door. Even at $60 you will clear $10 after fees. I can complete sets, throw them in a closet and forget about, and then have stacks of $10 bills, super easy to ship, that are $20 bills when they hit $70. Easy money You are also forgetting the QFLL crowd. The NW FM crowd had access to series 4 for nearly 2 weeks before anyone other than a few random targets. I bought/sold 4 cases before my FM ran out. $500 in a week just for stuffing flat rate envelopes. Mixels aren't for everyone, but I'll take what I can get Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app3 points

I love how everyone is loving the Delorean now.......5 months ago is was like, "man I hope this XXXX set doesn't go Delorean".......no matter what, sets will retire in time and then when they do everyone always wishes they would have bought more.......including myself.3 points

Wow, that's crazy. Soon they'll go even further and have the Fedex guy grab the package back out of your hands at your door, run back to his truck, peel out of your driveway in a cloud of tire smoke, and speed off into the sunset whilst laughing like a hysterical maniac.3 points

Man... I love this hobby!2 points

Star Wars OT sets won't need the new movies to carry them as investments. And buying in at a ~$50 discount mitigates pretty much all of the risk that could lie in this set.2 points

Well, what could it mean? Bunch of people thinking double VIP is the ideal time to stock up. And at least according to temporal extrapolation, there's good reason to do so: - All modulars had between decent and gains - All modulars retired after 4 years or less - PS is in its 4th year Avilability of modulars is more investor driven compared to average sets. Smaller production quantities and higher investor focus leads to less supply than demand whenever investors see a good opportunity to stock up. So I don't think what we see is TLG actually fading PS out yet but rather the effect of what investors think TLG will do.2 points

that reminded me of 2 years ago when we were in Murrells inlet SC. Went to have lunch at a waterfront restaurant (Wicked Tuna) and they said they were filming a reality show and we might be taped. I didn't care and just wanted to eat and signed the waiver. Turned out to be Party Down South LOL. We were in it for about 5 seconds.2 points

I just came back from the future! Smaug will ultimately be the second largest maxifigure in Lego's history. (The largest being the hybrid maxifigure/build Galactus and Giganta being the third biggest maxifigure)!! Jokes aside, this set is gonna be a good bet. Building the set and having Smaug as a display piece is second-to-none. I got my third set on Sunday gonna buy my fourth and Simpsons houses this weekend too ))2 points

Perhaps the question should not be if this set is going to increase, but how much the increase will be compared to other similarly priced sets at the moment. Speaking simply from the point of view of someone with limited budget2 points

http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/11427-shop-at-home-offers-october-2014/?view=findpost&p=357511 Anyone looking to order a bunch from shop at home and stay under the radar please take a look at my post from this past October. This was the last time they ran double VIP, but they also were giving away the free elves workshop as an additional promo. I ordered one exclusive every day for the entire month with no penalty or suspicion of being a reseller. I received a bunch of VIP points which I cashed into two ewok villages, as well as 30 of the elves workshops that I should be able to sell for $20-$25 each this coming Christmas or next based on past history. My point is, you don't need to blow your load in one order. Spread it out. Be smart about it. Don't order the same set two days in a row. Wait for your previous order to go into "shipped" status before placing your next order. I know that buying is fun, and sometimes you feel like if I don't get it all now I will miss out. The sets will be there. It's not worth the risk. There seems to be a lot of new members lately asking questions regarding the banning process. The questions are being answered, but it feels like some are not listening to or taking the solid advice being given. This advice is not an opinion. It has all been learned from past mistakes. If you want to test the waters then go ahead, but don't be surprised if the ban hammer falls.2 points

Yes MInt.com. It's a financial aggregator and a fantastic tool if you manage your own money. Edit: Legodog - Synchrony bank is the only account (out of about 25) I have that doesn't work, and that includes a mom-******-pop mortgage company out of the mid west. A lot of companies integrate now due to it's popularity. Synchrony feels the ads Mint shows to save you money or whatever compete with their offerings so they do not provide an api.1 point

Thanks again, I checked both out and ended up with Lastpass Premium and multifactor authentication since I had already started the signup process with them. Both looked really solid though. I'll be a user for life now after what happened. Can't believe I didn't have something like this in place before, glad to have learned my lesson without too much pain.1 point

I don't think it is. If 3x VIP comes around, and it's still available, you can pick up another couple. But, you're guaranteed now. I'm not waiting.1 point

I think it's possible they aren't so much looking to clobber resellers, as they are trying to avoid sudden runs on particular sets. If you place 10 orders for 5 PC each over the course of a few hours, and so do another 100 brickpickers, all of a sudden their inventory of that set is gone, and it may be months before the next shipment arrives. When you space out orders, they don't encounter unforeseen OOS situations and lots of phone calls from disappointed parents. I only wish that Lego would go the amazon route and establish 'hard' order limits, so people would know exactly what the rules were.1 point

Both of these are now available. Also before I get any questions, I have already begun the price guide update and it will be available sometime during the next few days, hopefully no later than Wednesday1 point

This is Emazers here and alot of people ask me do I Make a living Selling Lego's on E-bay. Well the Answer is no. I am 64 Years old and a retired mailman. Its just about Impossible for any regular guy to just say I am going to quit my job and just sell lego's. If you read my posting on what you have to do to open an account with lego these days just about kills the idea. You have to buy 75 percent of there themes and that includes all the cheap sets. But say I still could buy what I only wanted, and What you can only buy is only the Lego's that you see in Toys R Us, target, Walmart. Except for there exclusives, and the Hard To Find Sets you cannot buy, Like the Haunted House, B-wing, Cinema, etc. So say I have $25,000 to buy right now, so I order 50 Cases of the new Jabba's Sail barge, jabba's Palace, New Gunship, about 10 cases of the $100 lone Ranger set, 10 cases of the new $119.00 Chima set coming out, cases of the Friends new Dolphin Cruiser, High School etc. So the Profit margain for the $100.00 to $139.00 is between $20-$30 the $30 being on the Falcon 7965. So you put them on ebay with along 500 other people, and so you put the Sail Barge up Buy it now for $119.99 it sells, so time all the ebay and paypal fees are taken and you better no what you are doing on shipping. So you might make $5.00 or loose money if you don't no how exactly to do shipping. And with target, Walmart, Amazon and whoever is selling it you are about ready to crack thinking this was a good idea. Do you think Target or walmart or even Toys R Us would survive if they just sold Lego in there store. Now with target, walmart they are making that $20-30 Profit on the big sets. Now if Somebody had say $50 Grand to spend and you could buy the hard to find sets to, well that would be great for a great investment for a few years down the line. But the bottom line is try and stick with the big sets, there has only been a very few Star Wars $100 sets or more Duds, Load up on as many Haunted Houses as you can. Helm's Deep, Tower Bridge, Batman asylum, vampire's castle not the $10-20 Clearance items unless they are for your collection. There could be a few excemptions. I would rather buy a haunted House that 5 A-wings on clearance. "And Remember it takes a few years for these to be a great investment, Now take the Imperial Shuttle, Potter 10217, and the Potter Castle 4842 and the POTC Black Pearl and Queen Revenge its only been a few months and see how fast these went up. So Don't ever quit your regular job to sell lego for a living. Ed1 point
