I'm a simple frog. 1. I sees the LEGO. 2. I buys the LEGO. 3. I takes the LEGO home. The only things I buy from TLG are exclusives I can't get on discount anywhere else anyway, and occasional clearance. Taxes I pay are refunded to me when I file my state sales tax returns. Whether I'm getting a 4.8888877329238938024839043% discount or 5% doesn't matter. In 20 days, whether I'm getting a 9.99023493890243241% discount or 10% won't matter, either.5 points

confused on how some do not see the potential in this set. I've sold 19 the last 90 days at an average of $261.26. There's plenty more that have closed / sold at $255-290 during the past 30 days even while the set has been available at multiple sources at regular retail. That's a pretty good sign it is a popular set. If you can get 30-40% over retail while still being readily available more times than not you will have a winner. Taking a look at the sets that were not selling well online while being available like SC, HE, AA, R2 up until they started the dance and this one has been near the top. AA is still pulling about 299, R2 at about 300-310 and they've been gone for months, granted they were $160 sets HE at 200ish which left about the same time as the other 2, and SC going for $170 range on a $100 set which has been gone the longest but had some TRU afterstock show up. While R2 was heading out it was in the $250-260 range and I sold over 40 of those in a 2 month period . It was extremely popular. AA probably jumped the quickest but had the perfect timing of Xmas when it went out. R2 had been going in and out prior to that. Point is those other 4 sets all did well and this one is on par with those seeing its still available. Not trying to convince anyone but at the same time I would not overlook this set. As others have said its a unique set and should be a one time type of set. Up until the last 4-5 months it went widely unnoticed. Now that it is staying around longer this last batch it is getting overlooked again by R5 , PC, and PS which seem to sell out while this one sits on the shelves. Once this one truly goes it should have a nice spike again.5 points

It's a bittersweet day...just sold my last set of Series 1 Mixels for $123. Other than a set that I have for ourselves, and some individual ones for sale, I am out!4 points

I factor VIP points into my purchase prices only when I use them. Leads to some wildly low prices at times, but easier for me to keep track of. Same thing with TRU rewards (lol, good luck tracking that).3 points

Bottom line is this... We are on the verge of the most hyped movie of all time. Anything STAR WARS will be hot. Flipping out of a SSD now to buy other sets could be one of the worst LEGO investing moves ever made IMO. What will a person flip into? SOH? Is it retiring? Do people care? ToO? Same thing. Pet Shop? One only has to look at the Fire Brigade to see this set won't explode. Palace Cinema? Same thing. Tower Bridge? Sure...maybe next year. Death Star. LOL. Tumbler, Slave or Helicarrier...not ready to retire. Town Hall? Too late. See my point? This set is a keeper. Be patient. While there are no guarantees, I don't see another set capable of growing hundreds of dollars over the course of the next year.3 points

I was going to mention something similar. I think Alpine had a couple honeyholes for these after they were on the rise, but maybe he was scooping them up before then. Bulletproof helmet.2 points

got my last 5 today. 54 total. All have already been paid for and sold to a wholesaler. Who rules because they only want pieces. So I empty everything into a box. No fees. Just under 1500.00 profit in a week depending how I ship. May do freight for first time as opposed to 5 boxes. The last five shipped in original lego cartons but then inside a walamrt box. Good job walmart. I have never had the problem others say about their shipping.2 points

People around 40 or 50 tend to get this thing called "Midlife Crisis". You can tell when they start to look for attention from other women, get their motorcycle drivers license and buy Super Star Destroyers.2 points

This is way to complicated for me. I just log what I pay at the time for a set. I see no reason to go through all that when it all comes out even in the end anyway.2 points

Strong performance of product lines, such as LEGO City, LEGO Creator as well as THE LEGO MOVIE products contributed to sales growth in all regions of the world and led to a highly satisfactory annual result for the LEGO Group with sales increasing to 28.6 billion DKK.2 points

Why does it matter? Spread it out evenly or apply all to one set. In the end it all adds up. Do what makes sense to you.2 points

Here are a few videos inside the lego factory: At the end of the first video it states a packing line can produce "1400 boxes per hour" This last one is the most comprehensive and shows the complete process...but it's in Spanish!2 points

Materials guide for LEGO selling & shipping Many members have asked for a centralized place where they can go for shipping box information. I'm going to pin this post and update it as new information is provided. I just want to take a few minutes and thank those who wrote the following articles. They are still very good reference materials for the LEGO storage and shipping process. I may develop this into a blog article eventually. Fcbarcelona101's : Selling LEGO : Basic Materials Guide Mos Eisley 's : LEGO Storage Wars Incompetech's Catalog of Amazon.com Box Sizes - (thanks No More Monkeys) Amazon Boxes Sorted list by length - courtesy of pstebbing I've scoured the forums and here is a list of box sizes with basic set information: Boxes: 24x20x8 : Super Star Destroyer; Death Star, Roller Coaster, UCS Sandcrawler, Assembly Square 24x20x6 : Thicker sets like Town Hall, Tower Bridge 24x16x6 - 60052 Cargo Train, R2-D2, Maersk Line Triple-E, 7939 Cargo Train 24x16x4 - Helm's Deep, Vampyre Castle, Black Pearl, Friends Riding Camp, Parisian Restaurant, High Speed Passenger Train, Jabba's Palace, Downtown Diner 24x20x4 : Grand Emporium, Pet Shop, Imperial Shuttle, Haunted House, Palace Cinema, Fire Brigade 24x14x4 : Dolphin Cruiser, Coast Guard Patrol 24x4x12 - Dolphin Cruiser, Coast Guard Patrol 20x16x4 - Volkswagen Camper Van, Olivia's House, Sonic Raider, Sopwith, Creator Bike Shop, Batcave, Quinjet, Moria & Ambush 20x16x6 : Thicker sets like the Republic Gunship; City Cargo Plane 20x14x4 : Attack on Weathertop, Hulk 's Helicarrier Breakout, X-Wing 9493, Black Gate 16x16x4 : Gungan Sub, Pre Viszla, Tie Fighter 16x10x4 : Council of Elrond, Desert Skiff, City Grand Prix Truck 16x10x6 : Thicker sets like Creator Family House, Hillside House 15x12x4 : Funhouse, Orc Forge, Tumbler Chase, Daily Bugle Showdown, Hulk Lab Smash 12x12x4 : Uruk Hai Army, City Cargo Truck, Creator Treehouse, City Fire Emergency 11-3/4x8-3/4x4-3/4 : Wolverine Chopper, Arctic Batman, Power Armor Lex, Droid Escape, Cloud Cuckoo Palace 12x8x3 - Battle Packs, CA Avenging Cycle, Catwoman, Gandalf Arrives, Holiday sets 10x8x4 : Battle Packs, CA Avenging Cycle, Catwoman, Gandalf Arrives, Holiday sets Envelopes: 4x8 : Minifigs & small polybags 6x9 : Polybags small & larger 10.5 x 16 : Larger shipments of 3 x polybags or more Packing Tape : buy in bulk or on sale : you can throw some in during a Staples coupon promotion to get up to free shipping Walmart.com Duck Brand Packaging Tape http://www.staples.com/Staples-Standard-Grade-Packaging-Tape-Clear-189-x-110-yds-6-Rolls/product_380107 Retailers: Uline.com : holiday sale starts first part of November (usually 30% off) Staples.com : use coupon promotions - $10 off $30, $20 off $75, free shipping over $60 Walmart.com USPS Priority Mail (free boxes at USPS.com) Michigan Box Company: Flat Boxes 18"-23" L (thanks pstebbing) GBE Packaging (thanks pstebbing) PackingSupplies.com http://www.packaging...ated_boxes.html (thanks pstebbing) Bubble Wrap: 3/16" thick x 350' ft x 12" wide - eBay Sams Club 3/16" - 12"x240' $12.98 (In store) ($.05/LF) (thanks pstebbing) I like to use large and small retailer plastic bags to wrap items in, even after I bubble wrap it. For battle packs and even small sets, I sometimes use Wal-Mart, Target, or plastic bags from any store. Additional packing isn 't really needed. Usually like 2 bags on bottom, one to wrap the item, and two bags on top. Make sure to cover the corners of the item real nice to provide extra padding. Rule of thumb : ship & pack all of your items the same way you 'd like to receive items you've purchased. Awesome potential with this little set. Got with 30% off and sold x2 RRP on Xmas. And it's still climbing. If it has just been sold out on the US LEGO Shop at Home (!) I guess it means it's still available in B&M shops (!!) : do not wait, grab lots of them. http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=70503-11 point

Are people really analyzing the difference between 5 percent and 4.76 percent back? If I have to dig that deep I might as well just get out of Lego.1 point

Day before Thanksgiving? 2014? I think people were more like: "Look! That guy is carrying the last and final Super Star Destroyer to the register."1 point

No argument at all, I agree with you - I am just not nearly as organized as I should be. ;P And money definitely can be made - and it can be good for feedback and to fill up those 40 FBA Premium sales too. With me they get stuck in bags and thrown in a box and have to be found, sorted, and counted later. If I tackled them in a timely manner like you do, probably wouldn't cause me headaches.1 point

so did she deny stealing it and claimed it was hers? i dont want to assume that is what happened because i dont like assuming. if so, I agree with Delorean. No price is too high for an SSD. I'm snapping up all I can right now at $800, 'cause some anonymous guy on this site told me it's sure to hit $2k by this time next year. Last Fall, I was buying SSD's at $700 and passing up HH and TH at MSRP to free up funds. So far that hasn't worked out, but I'm sure it will given time. After putting all my retirement funds into Phoenix real estate in 2006 and buying shares in offshore oil drillers on margin last summer, it's a relief to have finally found a sure-fire investment in SSD's at 2 x MSRP!1 point

If people following a few pages back, yes a full set of 9 mixels fit in a padded flat rate envelope. $5 shipping anywhere in US makes shipping pretty decent and you don't have to worry about a surpirse Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app1 point
