Two things I love this week: 1) Wife and I finally paid off our student loan debt...debt free except our house. (Promptly bought myself an Exosuit to celebrate) 2) Ordered a technical climbing jacket and shirt from Eddie Bauer (retail $270). They were both on sale ($134) and had an additional 40% off at checkout ($80). Apparently their dinosaur system couldn't actually accept my paypal payment, even though it said it could. I had to call to give a new form of payment. The CS Rep gave me an additional 40% off for a total shipped of $48. Booyah.

What a glorious day for those of us who are first generation Brickpickers (first wave of sets retiring since you started this mad game).

Once those creative towers start to come in, some BPers will have to agree to accompany their significant others to watch it...

Hi, I found BP Grolim's EOL excel worksheet a while back (posted 03 June 2014) and I have updated it with the list provided by xRebirthed, just wanted to give credit to my fellow BPs for gathering the data. I have made some tweaks to the original spreadsheet, you are able to filter by set category etc. for the most recent retirements. Hope it's helpful for some. I'm not shocked. Think about it: any time the media has ever covered any story on something any of us are familiar with, when have they EVER got it right? I gave up on the fantasy of intelligent journalism the very first story they "covered" on something I had some expertise in back when I was 19. They're hopeless.

All my orders for the tower fun from last night are coming in as shipped..... Yes freaking yes. Ordered 35. Up to 17 confirmed shipped. Now to be greedy and pessimistic I should have ordered more but got tired of trying and failing. Only success 1 on like 15 tries. And thought this may be a mistake. Something is up with Lego. We could perhaps argue that it would be hard to foresee the demand for RI... but the same limited availability on The Tumbler last year (plus hard limits), scarcity of Slave I and DO last month, and now this... I firmly believe there is much more to it all than meets the eye.

About a week ago I was at my local St. Vinnies looking for a new book or two. I always check the toy section and that day was no different. I grabbed a bag of LPS for the school and was just about to leave disappointed when a fresh cart of toys appeared. I squealed when I saw the employee throw a gallon ziplock of LEGO on the shelf. She giggled at me and said she had more in her cart. I ended up with five - gallon bags and a stack of 10" road base plates. The sad and funny part was when I went to pay for it the people at the counter were talking about a guy that was in the store earlier buying LEGO and asked if they had more. They told him no and then found these bags. I wonder what he got? I had a weekend project of sorting and detecting what sets I had. So far I have found and built a black monarchs castle #6085, Victory Lap Raceway #6395, Battering ram #6062, Sonar Transmitting Cruiser #6783 and I still have a huge pile of red and yellow pieces that look like more speed track sets by the mini figs. I paid $30.00 and have had way more fun than that. Lol. It floors me that I was able to build each set with only a few missing pieces. Ty for letting me fill your ears with old lady craziness. Lol it is so nice to have adults that understand. Lol

Err, these interviewers were supposed to be journalist ? They came off as a bunch of clueless parents asking a manager of a LEGO store about the products. Where were the questions about future growth or plans or LEGO marketing strategy, .. anything ? Then I realized it was CNBC and the world made sense again

Just hold them a little bit longer. The price on the CT is crazy good and plenty of people will pay double or triple that. Great short-term investment.

This wave of retirements is a bit of a non-news story, and only a confirmation of many many widely accepted truths. All of these sets are gone, and have been gone for months. The retirement tag MIGHT kick off an increase in price but the real 'event' happened when they went out of stock and never came back (other than 1-2 at a time here and there). That being said, Red 5 is gone almost everywhere and MIGHT be available at a future date at lego but there's no guarantee they'll ship. So Red 5 might be just as 'retired' as the sets just now officially marked retired.

My last order for 5 is marked as shipped but the other 5 orders are not. Shows shipping from Marcy NY

It probably isn't. WVM was labelled as retired in Europe and most members expected it to return for its second year and it did.

Not sure if posted, my alert went off an hour ago but I just got to my computer. AA is marked as retired now. I guess people will be happy. Haven't checked the whole list, but I guess they updated as they release the early access of the helicarrier.

Mesmo and Scorpi from S3 is now "sold out" and "call to check" which basically means it will say sold out next. I expect the rest of S3 to go to sold out in the next week or so. Kinda surprised it took this long from the sale price but that's ok. They probably produced a ton more than the first two series. This could help series 1 and 2 go up on the secondary market now with series 3 going and soon stores will be running out and or not able to order any more focusing on series 4 and soon 5. Perhaps soon time to jack up the prices of our auctions on the first two series.

If you click the Brickset link in the first post, you see the whole lot. Tons of little stuff, but some nice finds (including the airport from a few years ago).

Received a "Your order has shipped" email w/ the Driller included in the shipment. So, they did have a few.

Anyone else notice this in the PC description on Amazon? Pretty sure I'd fit in that Limo, forget minifig scale. How many bricks build that limo again? Maybe 50,000? How did they fit them all in that box?

We got tickets to an advance screening and I don't have to go (I got one of her girlfriends to go), I feel like I won a giant Lego set Ex Astris, Scientia.

All three of my Target RI have shipped. My Pet Shop with freebies arrived yesterday in great condition from Lego SAH. I will order one Pet Shop a month along with SW to stay under the hammer.
