Perhaps TLG just retired the 60051 and 60052 models to renew it with a helicopter (and perhaps flick missiles)? Didn't you read the memo?3 points

That reminds me that Disney stated that they will stick to the original stuff and will release a Legacy Blu-Ray. It means that at Disney Han shot first, no Hayden ghost and other crap. So if I look at it this way, Disney does some good to the franchise too. It actually preserves integrity more than Lucas did with the modifications.2 points

Taj Mahal 10189 Used Complete $1400 plus shipping Eiffel Tower 10181 Used no instructions $1000 plus shipping Emerald Night Train 10194 Used Complete $335 plus shipping I purchased all of them from a used bulk lot on Craigslist and still have Grand Carousel 10196 and Winter Village Toy Shop 10199 left to sell from the bulk lot I bought for $1300 total. Don't be afraid of the Disney logo. Embrace it. Star Wars fans won't care. It will only create new customers from the Disney fanatics. Case in point: we have friends that are obsessed with Disney. There are many, many more like them. My Facebook feed is proof of that. These particular friends are now obsessed with Marvel and Star Wars. They won't even touch Batman. I mean the kid doesn't even like Batman. It's diabolical and irrational, but that's what Disney fans are when it comes to their passions. If you sell LEGO, in particular Star Wars LEGO, Disney is your friend. They are creating customers for you left and right. The small square inch logo is well worth that price of my childhood integrity.2 points

Other Toy Fair sets are out. Look at this... I want to puke. Hmh, it seem a little familiar. Oh, wait, I know...2 points

Very nice. So yes... the pilot is a unique minifig. I wouldn't expect anything else from UCS. (Check out the sticker below the cockpit at 1:16. It seems even LEGO staff can't put the #^%^ things on straight.)2 points

And one big mistake - white King on white field at the beginning and vice versa... (Beside this mistake this set is really crap comparing to the old Pirate chess set...) Further negative - as the fields have a stud in the middle a minifig can never stay exactly in the middle of the field but slihtly on the left or right... I would fire the designer... ;-)2 points

I got a Cargo Terminal but am jealous of Exciters Arctic Supply Plane. Way to go! I froze for 2 hours literally for the Zelda console and experienced some of the rudest people ever and did not get one (nor did anyone else but the first person in line which was vindicating and enjoyable). I ordered $2,000 of Zelda consoles only to have them cancelled and get a target $15 gift card to go with my $100 of best buy cancelled MM gift cards. I received in 3 MM Ultimate Edition statues & Guides with one of the Statue boxes having a kink and tear in it (ugh) but the other 2 are perfect (yeah). I found 2 farnsworth for $48 each including tax out the door. Search your BN the 15% off coupon works and you may find some. I have 15 sonic amiibos back ordered and ready to be cancelled at target But the icing on the cake was I had someone on BP rise above the occasion and is working out one heck of a fair exclusive Lego's from me for MM Console from him trade (for me personally not to sell). Brickpicker has some real genuine people. I am humbled.2 points

"Fabrication" is a bit harsh. There's been solid data and info this last week that point to a *possible* retirement of 60052 (and maybe 60051). - 60052 (and 60051) are listed as "Sold Out" on SAH on every site except US/Canada. - Pictures and discussion of a new cargo train, 60098 have been published the last 2 days, including on respected blogs. - 60098 duplicates much of 60052, including similar rolling stock and inclusion of power functions, track, a cargo terminal, and accessories. - 60098 is clearly NOT an HE replacement, it's numbered in the City series. - 60052 has been discounted world-wide the last 10 days - at least one stock manager told a BP member that the discounts "were at the direction of the supplier" - other BP members have talked with B&M managers, who've said 65002 "isn't coming back into stock if another train is released" The above isn't "fabrication". In fact, its an intriguing set of clues. Which is why the retirement discussion has heated up. Even our own Ed has chimed in saying this wouldn't be unprecedented. Take all this for what its worth. Personally, such discussion and facts are a reason this site is so awesome. I've made some decisions on this whole matter and spent a bit of money to back it up; like all things here, it may or may not be correct and result in a payoff.2 points

The past two days in this thread make me long for the days when there was actual news to report and discuss. Everyone who is freaking out over the early retirement of 60052 (if that is indeed what is happening) clearly hasn't been around for very long. Every year, TLG retires sets unexpectedly after very short runs at retail. Off the top of my head, I can recall #3222, Butterfly Beauty Salon, and Zombies falling into that boat, as well as Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter, which was only around for what seemed like a minute in the U.S. before retiring. Although it's difficult to predict which sets this will happen to, it is hardly an uncommon occurrence...unless you try to define the issue as narrowly as one of the earlier posters (i.e., no train with a MSRP greater than $200 that carries the set number 60052 has ever retired in 6-12 months before this one).1 point

A refresh on the Mine? I doubt that will be soon. Even City Construction, which is done much more often, has at least four year gaps in refreshes.1 point
