Stephen, I don't hate you. I appreciate your opinion. Only if you could express it in a more civil way more often. That "masters degree in psychology" you were broadcasting the other day - is it real? was it a joke aka sarcasm aka your "style"? who knows? - should not only enable you to (quote) "[throw around] any big smart words" if you wanted to (which you of course do not), but they should also make you capable of anticipating that some of your comments put members of this forum in discomfort for no reason. Other comments meanwhile appear like you were talking to a dog or something, not to a human being. I mean, reactions consisting of one or two words that are not far from "Down!", "Give!" or "Sit!", that's just not a great way of communicating. The more I think about it that PsyM must indeed have been a hoax. Or it is some kind of weird study exploring "The effects of permanent grumpiness on members of an internet community". However, I don't think you are a POS - and honestly I don't quite get why I should send you a message to tell you about it if I did. I just think you are a POG (Piece Of Grumpiness), that's it. You know what: Had you answered with what you wrote above right here the first time (instead of your original answer, being "SMDH") I would have had close to no problem at all. Mainly because I would have known what you mean right away. Above you said "if you and some other members would make it a little less obvious when begging for EOL info that would be great." My question is: why? Everyone here is keen on EOL info and everyone knows it - in fact even the site's title reads "Lego price and investing GUIDE". Are you seriously po'ed of people taking that literally seeking plain GUIDANCE? Why should one sugarcoat asking for EOL info? What is your problem with people "begging" (as you expressed it) without putting lipstick on their questions? Is it because they, ok, say "we", don't "give anything back"? Being a regular user of this site clicking through all the info posted here fits the definition of giving something back quite well, don't you think? So, I don't really get what you mean - if it is a religious thing or so then please enlighten me. To me your argument of "It's OK to make money, but it's not OK to make easy money" sounds a bit contradictory or should I say pointless? Maybe it's even sarcastic. I don't know, you are the expert.4 points

If you can get Super Heroes sets for 35-50% off which is not very hard to do over the course of the year they make great reasonably priced lots especially if you just put them at retail. The $10 savings on the little sets and $15-20 savings on the medium sized sets add up when you make a nice 2-4 set lot. So even if they don't go up a ton if you do it right you can make a nice profit on them and they are always popular.3 points

Not only might Stephen not just have been referring to Ed's comments in the EEE thread - but who knows, since there is so much info to be interpreted into in his response consisting of an amazing four letters (wow!) - he also seems to have no hard time limiting his constant misanthropic undertone a bit. What is so hard in maintaining a minimum of respect even to people with questions he subjectively regards as stupid? I know he likes to refer to "sarcasm" in those cases. That's one way to see it and it wonderfully justifies rude behaviour all the time, how very comfortable. If he would just call it loudmouthed grumpiness I would have less of a problem with his way. In a nutshell: "Normal" members would long have been banned for manners like his, and of course I do not only mean this one comment to me but many of his comments to many users.3 points

Payback for all those wonderful clearance deals you guys have been finding... heh. We also take team sports WAY too seriously when the name Team Canada is attached. Seriously though, the picture didn't seem that big when I snagged it from google.3 points

Honestly, the information you seek is within these forums and the retailer's websites. Every single discussion on this site may have a valuable piece of info. Some people really do speak with LEGO workers that know what they are talking about. Some have no clue. It is like a puzzle. Some pieces fit. Some don't. I must be very careful as to what I say. There are enough BrickPicker members now that if I hint at a set, it can be cleaned out in days, thus fulfilling my own prophecy, at least temporarily. But if that set is not done, then I can look like an idiot.3 points

Fair enough.....I deal with scumbags on a daily basis and I do admit that at times my sarcasm and disdain for the human race that stems from my job probably shows here on the boards. Apologies if you were offended by shaking my head comment but it just grows old when members pander for info that usually be gathered by simply reading through the threads. Trust me I'm not the only one who feels this way but it appears that I'm the only one who wants to say it. Anyways I'm who I am and members just have to accept it and move on. Oh and unfortunately my undergraduate and graduate degrees are very real. I know this because of the 70,000 of student loans I'm stuck paying off and that's after over half has been forgiven because of the line of work I chose. Trust me I hear how over qualified I am for my job everyday considering only a GED is needed to pursue a career law enforcement. Also I wasn't broadcasting anything the other day, a member asked me to qualify one of my remarks and I stated my education as a reference, I'm hardly the one who boasts about my education since I'm not the only one here with a graduate degree.2 points

Can you guys set up a donation link where we can contribute to the costs of Brickpicker? You might be surprised at how many people would donate. This could be a good test to see if making any parts of the site into a paid service would be possible.2 points

So this has been changed to a priority setup. The more watched sets get the higher priority and it has increased the quickness in which those Priority #1 sets get checked. A few not so great things I have noticed so far since this has been live. Just like I thought, the Non-USA user base doesn't really seem to care to use the feature at all. I think the ratio is like 100:1 of USA to Non USA for alerts. I know the site is still heavily USA favored here, but I thought there might be a little more interest. Maybe I need to make those areas more known and of course give it more time, again. I just thought more would at least view those pages. Over 4,000 individual SMS alerts (not including email) have gone out for the Palace Cinema since Feb 1. From my records, only 2 have been purchased. So this starts making me come up with other ideas on when should a set start getting SMS alerts and base it on how scarce/hot/needed the item is to control costs. This is just one set, there are others that are not that far behind. Do we really need SMS alerts? How many of you just see them come in an just ignore them? Should SMS alerts be a pay for feature to make sure you actually use them? Just ideas/just questions.... We will continue to tweak and work on ways to make sure members know it exists.2 points

I went on my monthly pilgrimage to Legoland Discovery Centre yesterday and picked up an X5 and ToO. Whilst there i had a lengthy chat with one of the employees. Whilst paying we had the following conversation. Employee: I am surprised you are not buying The Simpsons House. Me: Why Employee: It is a special simpsons anniversary edition. This is on its way out. When the new set ( i assume this is the kwik e mart) comes out this is gone. I had to persuade my wife to let me buy one before we run out of stock. I am guessing this is even less reliable than info from a lego store employee as the Discovery Centre is not an actual lego store, but i thought i would share.2 points

TRU has had it for $65.99 all of 2014 basically. They had a blowout sale before Christmas for $35 each. This set it pretty much non-existent in stores and TRU shouldn't have many left either.1 point

I've got 10 so far that shipped today. Waiting on 6 more. I actually enjoy the price dropping. Everyone keep dropping the price please and get rid of them. Creative Tower was selling for $70 right around Christmas and now inventory is dry and up to about $100. I'll keep all mine and wait. Sometimes fighting the crowd to sell makes you sell say to cheap.1 point

So I have to eat my words a little... I just used the $10 off $50 to buy a new cordless drill from Sears. My old drills use the 19.2V Ni-CD and the batteries are all failing (well, 2 have given up and the other 2 are weak sauce). So I bought the 19.2V with lithium ion batters on sale for $129.99 (retail $239.99) and stacked the $10 off. I had to buy a new 3/8 ratchet anyways... I broke mine. Funny how going for a $17 item turns into a $150 checkout experience.1 point

Amy Schumer and Kristen Schaal are hilarious. I don't get the Silverman infatuation. I mean I know she is a cute girl who talks about disgusting sex and says racist things and oh my god that's so like edgy but I feel like she tries way to hard.1 point

On the subject of video game music - here is my favorite: Silent Hill 4 - Akira Yamaoka. I like dark, depressing themes. Someone posted the Donnie Darko theme song, "Mad World". Love that song. Here is a fan video I made to Weird Al Yankovic's "Germs" song. The fan-vid is from footage of X-Files. Careful! It's not for the squeamish!!! Electronic and beautiful - Glow - "Alone" Keep sharing, guys.1 point

I'll bite. I like most music (too many to list) except for heavy metal and gangsta raps. How about: Van the Man for the old school side: Moondance Meat Loaf for the classic rock side -- Best punchline in any 10 minutes song. I could not find the Meat Loaf Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra version. Hands down the best concert he has done. Paradise by Dashboard Light Zac Brown Band for the country side Chicken Fried Hikaru Utada for the anime / video games / remix side: Hikari Speaking of cartoons: Silverhawks Teen Titans Ray Charles for whatever his awesome brand of music is Crazy Love Richard Marx for acoustic side: Hazard Anime: Saint Seiya To close: Music of the Night1 point
