All this practice does is hurt the legitimate ebay sellers including most of you on here, yet every time one of these type auctions comes up of $50 Death Stars or half price this and that people bid on them with the hope they are going to get something that will never come. It affects ebay sellers as a whole as ebay then takes proactive measures like restricting additional accounts a legitimate user may have or putting harsher monthly limits on sellers to protect them from getting more damage from hacked accounts. If something is over 50% off on a hot item you know its not legitimate so why bother!!!! The attitude that I am covered by paypal and ebay so it doesn't matter is the wrong one to have. It still have repercussions on the site as a whole. Just report these type auctions instead of purchasing them and hoping for the best.9 points

I'm not trying to bust your you know what but your attitude is precisely why scammers are so successful. Your logic is if it's a scam oh well ebay or paypal has got my back. Meanwhile the scammer got away Scott free with your money. Who do think reimburses you? The thief? It comes from PayPal or ebay who have to foot the bill, and then people wonder why the fees they charge keep going up and up.8 points

I ended up placing a couple orders from zavvi.com after they were rumored to be sold out. I didn't think I would get anything but today I got a nice surprise in the mail! I read they made 500 of each color, I ended up with 4 copies of red vinyl and one of them is #000001 as shown in the photo! Never expected that! If anyone ends up with an extra yellow and wants to trade for a red, keep me in mind. Time to break out the wheels of steel.. lol4 points

Can't agree more with this. Look at the price people will pay for a bumpy grey triangle (aka: Super Star Destroyer) if you need proof.3 points

Ah, the classic Chinese 'Lego to Jewelry' bait and switch. It's the oldest trick in the book. I still have a giant heap of costume jewelry where my stack of MISB 10179's is supposed to be. I just can't bring myself to take the loss and accept that the UCS Falcons I was promised by 'supertrustguy99' (only $99 each with free shipping!) will never arrive... I mean, delivery from China can take a long time, right?2 points

Point taken I shall see if I can get in touch with ebay regarding a possible scam. In the future I will be a lot more careful not to be taken in.2 points

That could have been easily covered had USPS stopped subsidizing those damn mails from China.2 points

I am a seller that calls them new. If I part out a set (minifigs), are they used because I sliced open a big bag to take the minifigures out? I don't use stock photos on sets like that and I also list a good description of what was done so it isn't a surprise. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app2 points

Something about Star Wars and spaceships seems to trump all rationale when it comes to Lego investing. I have an equal share of these two so I'm happy to see either win. Assuming TOO poofs out completely soon, I expect Red Five to win the 1-2 yr appreciation race and TOO wins long-term.2 points

I might have bought a couple of those X-Wings at Sam's Club, but I'm not sure what they finally cleared out at? I think I saw them at $19.81. I thought about rigging them with some rocket kits for some Saturday night fun.2 points

Rumor has it that the Castle line will return but with the fantasy era which included dwarves, orcs, and ogres aside from the usual knights. It would seem time for my brethren to make a triumphant return. FOR THE HORDE!!!! The Brick Fan1 point

You are in the States, so it might differ, but sometimes I am charged a COD fee that is an import fee. For me in Ontario I think it is usually 13% of the declared value (I generally don't check it all that closely...might be off by a bit). If I'm particularly cranky I dispute the charge with amazon.co.uk, because CanadaPost delivers without import/brokerage fees literally all the time while other carriers are 50/50. Thus far amazon UK has refunded the fees every single time. Maybe like ten times total over the last three years.1 point

Yes... (someday...) You seem to be pretty new to the forum so I'll point it out pretty clearly: WE DO NOT KNOW which sets are retiring and WHEN... or even if they really are retired... what we do here is assuming... some here are looking for signs and patterns, trying it the logical way, while others just have "the feeling" or need more posts to get another LEGO-MINIFIG picture ^.^ Also the title of the thread (where you just posted in) could be an indicator: "retiring soon open SPECULATION" ;-) So to come back to you question: YES! The Simpson House is retiring... but I would be surprised if it would retire just now... you should check international markets for it... easiest way is to look at LEGO shop at home (www.lego.com). Is it available? In most cases that's a good and first indicator if it is retiring or not... if it is widely available it obviously is NOT retired... and you cannot tell if it is close to retirement yet.1 point

While I don't disagree that it is better to not put bad ideas out there - I find it hard to separate these statements of potential danger from many others. If it is all about the common good - We should never discuss what might cause the market to crumble - since it might send people into a selling panic. We should never state that any set is a winner or loser - since it will effect the way people buy and sell. And most importantly - We should never say that someone throws, runs, punches, or buys LEGO like a girl.1 point

I agree that the box looks a little small, but the set is amazing! Lego did a really good job with these Ultra Agents sets.1 point

Why argue with Lego about being a reseller when you are? I don't get that. It's not going to work anyway (no one here has gotten *out* of a ban that I know of). I don't like the policy either, but if Lego decides to ban me for being a reseller - even though I've got 8 Lego-loving children so as good of an excuse as anyone for why I buy multiples of any set, I'll take it like a man. There's very little in this world worth lying about, neither Lego nor money make the list.1 point

Well you can be sure, I won't be competing for inventory. I will display the older UCS star wars in my house. I would not display this. Either make it a play set 10188 or make it a display dsII. Most grown men who would actually pay 350.00 would not display this. IMO. everyone recognizes star wars ships, most would not have a clue on thos one. The tumbler on the other hand, very well executed, displayable, afol target market. To each his own though.1 point

So we've obviously had space and town police stations. Now City has given us Forest and Swamp Police Stations. What's next? The Outback with wily dingos and kangaroos to rob the locals? Maybe a Police Station for the Arctic theme because we all know how much trouble the polar bears cause. These are getting ridiculous. All the while the town doesn't have proper bank, post office, or gas station.1 point
