  8. As most everyone predicted ebay ruled that they cannot remove the feedback since you can apparently say any crap you want in a feedback if it is your opinion you don't like the item. I decided I'm not going to bother emailing this jerk to try to get him to remove the feedback. I replied to his neg: Buyer sent 2 additional items as well as given a refund - still left neg feedbck Wish I could burn him further. PM if you want his name for your blocked list. He doesn't seem to buy legos though but if you have anything with boobs that he might stain you should keep your eyes out for him. Hide your american girls.

  10. very nice, a lot of work ( could of got hcx to do that for you in a good year or so) but still nice lol so close to the 10k we could figure out an equation to when the time will be or you could just answer 1 response to 15 different threads and be done with the suspense. For good measure seeing its right before 11 and based on your daily amount of posts we will go with 1/17/2015 as the trivia question for when Exciter hit 10k Bold Arrow I hope you are taking notes and watching this post. Just making them up for you lol

  11. It's one of those maddening situations, but they won't remove the feedback for a buyer's opinion on the transaction. Partial refunds are dicey -- they're perfectly appropriate in some cases and in some cases I offer them. At other times, they're nothing more than extortion. I recently got a neutral for refusing one (buyer was told to return for full refund, including shipping back to me, because I could tell she was one of those pros who always asks for money back) and I would have worn a negative from her with pride. Sorry it happened to you, it never does get to where it feels okay or right.

  12. I had someone send me an email outside of eBay for a refund. I keep a 14 return policy really for fluff on my listings as I know most won't follow through I'm that time. She wanted to return something because she "thought" she was spending $100 but she was charged $130 (the listing was for $130 so idk where she got the number from) She said she'd return my item unopened but I opted not to accept the return. The item was delivered 12/11 so we're over a month out. I refused to receive it for the cases that have come through the past few days. I'm holding strong on this and don't want buyers to think they can take advantage of me for some bs reason. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Brickpicker mobile app

  14. Did not realize you can now download an exact report of the exact item number of any defect you receive. It gives you the item number, and reason or reasons. This is very useful information especially if you focus on the ones that left 1,2,3 stars as that is not one you can normally figure out on your own. The case ones and feedback ones are obvious and I always blocked those before as well. Was disturbed to see that over the 3 months 3 were for LEGO polybags seeing we box every single one of them unlike most that use bubble mailers. Good to know though as you can block any of the users to prevent them from doing it to you again. With that info you can also track to make sure there was not sabotage done by the same person. Very surprised they wound up doing this as it was always anonymous. I would not recommend contacting anyone as that is against policy and might take the feature away but at least now you can prevent yourself from future dealing with that person.

  16. Another little thing to always check when you get a negative before leaving your response or calling ebay is the "feedback left for others" tab of the buyer. You would be surprised how many of these people have done this repeatedly. You will have a little more ammo in your call if the buyer has done it multiple times. I had one guy who had left 8 negatives out of his last 10 transactions. There was a trend and it helped the situation. You are allowed to leave that in the response as well if it happened. You can't leave it as there main feedback but as a response to yours is fine. If it was just a first time he did this a good response is below that fits in the allotted amount of characters. It shows how much you did for the buyer while showing you've never had issues with the product and they were still not happy which others will see as the person just being an a$$. Most of your buyers will actually leave overly positive comments when they see what someone did to you and reading a response like that. Sold over 50 w/o issue, sent 2 extras at no charge & $10 refund, still left neg.

  18. Many of you have seen how awesome the new 2015 Star Wars Battle Packs are. I just have to give a shout out to this one and the new multi-stud technology gun that comes with it. Very cool! My son and I built the 2009 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser (8039) the other night and for us, it's a great time for this battle pack to be released. "We need more Senate Commandos!" Well, here we go!

  21. I have one for my personnel collection and probably will never build it based on the reviews. I can't speak for my country, and not meant to be offensive but we don't know about or care about the Tower Bridge. We don't learn about it in school or see it on TV. It would be interesting to do a random survey stop 100 people on the street and show them a picture and ask them what it is and where it is. I would guesstimate 10% would know the answer. For some reason we all know Big Ben. That being said we are a stupid self-centered lot when it comes to world geogrophy. I think the only 2 bridges people know in the USA nationwide are the Golden Gate and the Brooklyn (by name only) and if you did the same test the scores wouldn't be that much higher. I just don't see the demand in the USA for this set as an iconic landmark like the Eiffel Tower. People may have other reasons to buy, high piece count, display, but once gone I don't think many will care.

  24. Sadly, I think you are way overestimating the potential for this set. The Town Hall was a short production run. It was not hoarded. The SSD was too expensive to hoard and has the new movies to stir interest. The Tower Bridge is highly stockpiled and is a British landmark. Many Americans have zero idea what or where it is. As I have said before, I love the set. It is a tremendous value at $240 and it is beautiful, but for these sets to really hit high levels, they need to be rare. This set won't be rare.

  25. Cafe Corner was the first modular. Market Street second, Green Grocer third. Though some concider GG the true second because Market Street was designed by a Lego Fan and not TLG themselves. If you want to buy one of these early three and are finding it hard to make your mind up, I would say Green Grocer simply because you can get it cheaper.

  26. Couple more thoughts, we lose another competitor, a fairly major one, though I suppose Targets` impact is now debatable. Walmart does extremely well here in Canada, how they thought they could just move up and compete with poor infrastructure like this is beyond. What`s worse is Target actually has some very good real estate locations, and I mean that. They have several spots that I`ve visited or know of that are really quite good. They would have done in all likelihood very well up here, but a series of extreme changes needed to be made, and they needed to have done that before opening 133 stores which they could not properly manage or supply. Anyone up here who bought clearance deals from Target, and I have as well on my travels (have visisted 15+ stores personally across the country) knows that feeling of getting a great "American type" deal here in Canada. Like 50% or more, which happens so rare to us up here. Agreed very much you guys. Just serves to show that they tried to offer what they do in the States but completely failed at how they should go about doing that. Anyway, we can now do what we did a few years ago. At least Amazon.ca has come into play as well in the last couple years will Lego, they`ve had some serious clearance deals already (50, 60, 75%) though some of those sets were useless investments.

  28. LOL , I summarized 3 things out of the first 2 pages of the 18 page thread summary ( to much for me to read at this time of the night and the state of mind I am in) 1. Most of the posts made were not people posting 1.5 years later 2. The shortest Emazers post in a very long time and not signed "Ed" (6 words and possibly 1.5 years later) 3. An Ice Cube reference which in my very strange world is priceless as I graduated that year (yes 1993 seems a very long time ago but is still younger then most of the senior posters on this site which in a weird way makes me feel good lol) Maybe tomorrow when I feel a little more motivated while in Nashville I will read the rest. Oh and don't think for a moment if I can get my Niko Papa... however you spell its names new business address I will take a photo of the legends place of work and post it here for all the world too see!!!

  33. Maybe I am trying to justify the stock I have hoarded concerning 10235...The best counter argument may be 10229. Similar piece count, I don't recall 10229 being loved either because of the 99.99 price point. 10229 certainly isn't as interesting (to me). However the 1st christmas after EOL (less than 10 months from vaporizing from all retailers) this set was fetching a near double on ebay (without consideration of fees and shipping). So 65-80% take home in less than a year. Yes it can be done better in other sets closer to retirement however this one (10235) is a no brainer to me. The mini carousel can be paired in other builds (carnival type) and this set has 9 figs. Decent selection of parts, some HTF or exclusive to this set. I don't understand the argument behind not liking it (for financial purposes only). Just say'******...felt like throwing in my 2 cents.

  34. Funny that, a warning sign indeed, now, thou at the time it appeared to be an honest effort to herd the masses back in the door to claim ownership of their position in the marketplace & maybe to correct the unbalanced optics vs the American version of Target we expected.

  35. Agreed. Regular 50% clearance deals. But then this was probably a warning sign.

  36. I'm with you. If any of you want to get out of your investment at the $20 buy-in, I'll help you unload them. I QFLL'd them for more than 3x RRP when they were TOOS. These will go for gold again. If you're impatient, then you are in the wrong game, because if you can't wait out a $20 set to double or triple it's value, there's no way you'll be patient enough for a Modular or SSD to double or triple it's value.

  37. I'm, sorry my neighbors to the north. We just recently lost the two Kmarts that I went to around here - I have other options but losing a store sucks. Seeing empty buildings sucks, losing jobs sucks. There is just no other way around it. - It sucks.

  38. Well here's a real kick in the bricks. Earlier it was reported the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has stated that The Lego Movie is not considered one of the five best animated films for 2014. Instead the film gets nominated for an Oscar in Best Original Song with of course "Everything Is Awesome". The five animated films which did make the list are The Boxtrolls, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Big Hero 6, Song of the Sea, and The Tale of Princess Kaguya. I will admit those are all good although I haven't seen the last three yet. Actually I didn't even know Song of the Sea and Princess Kaguya were out yet. Still by comparison, I don't quite see how The Lego Movie wasn't up to snuff with the likes of Big Hero 6 for example. Ah well, not like I need some institution to tell me how awesome The Lego Movie is. And for those who didn't 'get' The Lego Movie, well, sucks to be you.

  42. Interesting experience today via CL. A good one actually. Very nice guy, met me at a Mickey D's and I sold him a SC. The interesting part was he mentioned brickpicker during the transaction. I replied with "oh I guess you know what kind of scumbag I am then" heh heh. Had a good laugh, he doesn't resent lego investors though instead seemed genuinely interested.

  45. I'm a 27 yr old wife of 1 and mother of 2. I have been investing in the stock market since I was 15 and recently cashed out my Apple stock I purchased at $109 to invest elsewhere. Thanks to a sweet write up in USA Today, I was led here. I like to think it was destiny. Most girls won't be here because they don't play with toys, and the majority of women don't self direct their investments. It's generally the men who do both of those things, so don't be too surprised . I grew up playing video games, gi joe and baseball with my brother, so legos are much more fun to me. My girlfriends would make fun of me for even visiting this site, lol.
