Ok, so here is a pretty cool update that I finally got around to finishing. There are now two new Stock Tracker pages that I want to run for a few days. There is the new LEGO SHOP@HOME REGIONAL STOCK TRACKER and the AMAZON REGIONAL STOCK TRACKER The LEGO TRACKER has 9 different LEGO regions to watch for stock and price changes: LEGO US,LEGO UK,LEGO CA,LEGO DE,LEGO IT,LEGO FR,LEGO AU,LEGO NL,LEGO DK The AMAZON TRACKER has 7 different LEGO regions to watch for stock and price changes: AMAZON US, AMAZON UK, AMAZON CA, AMAZON DE, AMAZON IT, AMAZON ES, AMAZON FR I have tried to populate a lot of the listings, but there are a bunch of links I still need to backfill (it takes a bit of time). I will get to the ones that were listed here soon. Over the next few days I will want to see how this works out. I know the increased amount of links its checking has slowed it down from the speed it was at before, but we will see what we can do to get that back. Hopefully it helps some of you!4 points

I'll be at the Packer game this Sunday with my dad (you know, the one I drag to shopko every senior day). We have season tickets, and can't wait to attend Ice Bowl II. -33 wind chill in GB yesterday. I hope the cowboys pack some hand warmers! The only way the Pack loses this game is if Rodgers isn't at least 75%, which he will be. If any Wisconsin brickpickers are attending and need a place to park my house is only five blocks from The Frozen Tundra. Shoot me a pm. GO! PACK! GO!4 points

eBay often gets a lot of flack around here because many of us sell on there and the quality of buyers isn't always the best (scammers). And some of the criticism is deserved. But I was recently reminded that sometimes they do covers our asses. I received the following letter from them: Thanks for consistently delivering exceptional service to your buyers. We're here to provide you a marketplace where you can sell with confidence. That's why we've taken the following steps during the past month to protect your account: Automatically set 21 of your detailed seller rating(s) to 5 stars from qualifying transactions Prevented 2 eBay Money Back Guarantee request(s) from being opened too early in the past 2 months We've already updated your seller dashboard to reflect these changes, which are for transactions made during the past year. When we remove transaction defects, your transaction defect rate may not go down if you had transactions that received more than one defect. We'll continue to improve our monitoring, detection systems, and policies to protect sellers like you. To see these updates, go to you seller dashboard. *** END MESSAGE ** I wasn't event aware people had tried to get money back and they blocked them for me. I have a guess it is some of the 0 feedback buyers from this Christmas. It's nice that they finally providing some protection for us sellers.2 points

So based on all this, the sets are between 6lbs 15 oz, 6lbs 15.5 oz or 7lbs flat. And if the missing bag in question is 4 oz then i'd say any set between 6lb 15oz and 7lbs is perfectly safe. Thanks for all the replies folks!!!2 points

the only technical sign missing pointing towards PS retirement is limit 2 purchase at shop at home. otherwise its showing the same pattern as previous 3 modular retirements both expected and unexpected. even with target's elevated price it has been out of stock most of the time though in stock now. i also haven't seen a palace cinema in a store and that is also out of stock everywhere at the moment except shop at home - don't think that's retiring yet so its hard to know what's going on with any certainty. eitherway, PS's eventual disappearance from purchasability can only be hastened by the unexpected retirement of the TH with the resulting change in hoarding/investing behavior and its the next on the docket by chronology. also what other EOL-worthy sets are there to pour your money into? at this point DS-believers have there money locked up - i don't hear about anyone doubling down there even though that will blow the doors off almost anything else you could buy now. ToO prospects are looking better given the performance of UG. but there is no SSD. no HH. maybe the money is going into Red 5's but don't hear much enthusiasm there. Tumblers - sure but that's not retiring anytime soon either apparently. i think there probably is a lot more modular hoarding going on now because of the TH. i am purchasing PS's 1 at a time on a regular basis every 14-16 days or so from shop at home though since its the next modular that would be slated for the ax.2 points

Welcome to the site! I apologize for the shameless plug, but I wrote an open letter to anyone who is just getting started. This is based on my first year of following the site and building up an inventory. I've learned even more since then, but this is a good place to start. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/10670-an-open-letter-to-legodelorean-and-anyone-willing-to-listen/ Good luck!2 points

I sold 8x 79003 on BrickLink just the other day. I had two priced at $85 and they asked if I had more. I'm assuming it was a long-term investor, perhaps a BrickPicker. I kept a few for the long haul. Buy-in was $35 for most of them. I needed the space and capital, plus Mrs.BrickLegacy is planning a vacation and what better way to make her happy and committed to this venture than a splash like that?!2 points

My sisters husband and all his family is from GB and they've brought the packer fandom down to SW MO. I've always liked Favre and Rodgers. Great QBs. I'd like to see Rodgers get another SB at some point!2 points

I don't even know how to answer ^.^ 1. Which Brickpicker Member would you like to get? 2. How seductive can you be? 3. Do you have any treasure, jewels, money or valuable wisdom to give? 4. Learn the (important) difference between "to get" and "to become" But as I can see you already are a member by now... All that's left to say (if you don't actually want to GET a Brickpicker ^.^) is welcome! Oder auf meinem besten Hochdeutsch: Willkommen bei Brickpicker!2 points

Thanks, frog. Your advice is always what I count on. I do have 'no return' on the page but I also believe it's BS to eBay given how they treated sellers. Meanwhile, I called the CS. The lady agreed I already made my listing clear (both in title/content). After some talks, she suggested me to dispute the return request. My guess is this buyer is more likely having buyer's remorse due to his own uncareful purchasing and blaming it on me. Gladly I did take pictures of this package. Will update what happens next...1 point

Good start with the MF. Seems like you have a good strategy with buys just like that! FWIW - My greatest success in the last year has been buying sets on discount that are not overly talked about here on this forum, that on ebay seem to sell. You mentioned the Tumbler, sure its good, but after fees etc selling most people are not making a ton of money...when it retires in a few years you may have a different story. That set has also been purchased in the thousands by members of this forum once it was released, Lego SAH said it would not be available until after Christmas, so people bought even more of it, low and behold it shows up at lego stores and online right before Christmas (The Lego group had fun with that set ). With the tumbler, those who are hoarding huge quantities are reliant on people like you and other members buying up the rest of the inventory which will increase the demand by limiting supply, then those with large quantities of stock can sell huge volume at less profit per set and make money while you are left holding your sets wondering what to do. Remember that while this site is very useful (I found that the friends vet and butterfly shop were great resellers and managed to find a ton of them at the local rural walmart), a lot of the people giving the advise are also 'stockholders' in the sets. They are also your competitors when selling online and sometimes regionally. Think about if we were talking about gold or other forms of stock. You have two girls so you know very well the absurdness of the world of Frozen, it is a mega brand and its success is transient of many market factors, if you are like me you have paid over the top for Elsa dresses and dolls. Look what happened when the Frozen lego set was released early, two weeks before Christmas, first day sales of the set were lower to mid $100's then the market got completely flooded and after fees and shipping they were really only selling for a little more than retail (some will argue they bought at bulk and low cost etc). This was an example of where people looking for a quick flip, the majority here, got it completely wrong, they kept discounting sets so they could get the sale however there were such a relatively low supply, not many people understood that the success of Frozen and the value of that set was transient of any 'Lego selling' norms. Have fun and enjoy, the friends sets are actually really cool and are very fun to build, In my opinion, which is probably worth no more than many others, that is the place for growth.1 point

XRP (Ripple) to the rescue (posted on xrptalk): Posted 05 January 2015 - 12:53 PM by mdan I had some cash in my Bitstamp account and withdrew it to Ripple (so now I have USD.Bitstamp in the Ripple network). The transfer took ~15 minutes this morning, unlike a wire transfer back to my bank account which would have taken 1 or 2 days to clear. That's what's considered innovative by the Bitcoin camp.1 point

Kinda off topic...Ebay gets a bad rap. Thanks to them, I don't have to worry about protecting customer data, driving traffic to my website, updating a website with the most recent features to ensure a good user experience for my customers. etc. I can focus on my business. People who ***** about the fees have never tried doing the above. The cost in time and $$$ is a lot more than the percentage you'd pay to ebay or amazon.1 point

Got this baby built yesterday. It's a pretty simple build with nothing really challenging, but there are some unique ways they got it together and have it hold up. The wings seems a little flimsy, but the rest of the build is extremely rugged. I can hold it from the bottom lip and shake it and nothing happens. Once you do get it displayed the set is super boss. It's definitely a lot bigger than I could have anticipated. This is about half way through the build. Just a couple more bags in Again another couple bags in Another bag or two. Finally starting to really look like what is supposed to Finally completed. Big mother. Secret weapons pulled out to go pew pew pew. (Technical terms) Cockpit view. Backside view. Total badassery. And the sticker. Mine had the spelling error as well. 'Tracor' Also a couple of side notes. The instruction booklet also had the Tracor error when you get to the step of applying the sticker. And I absolutely love the detail of Boba Fett. The arm and leg printings really make him pop. One last thing. I remember first hearing about this set coming out and I was totally bummed. I didn't want the Slave 1. I was thinking they could have done something more badass, but we got this. When I first saw a couple of pictures and the box art, I still was not completely sold on it. As time went on it started to grown on me. Then I went out and bought it, and holy crapola, I am not disappointed in any way shape or form. I think it's just as impressive as the Imperial Shuttle, and 10179 MF on display. Just in your face awesomeness. Please people, if you are a builder/displayer, absolutely must buy.1 point

Thanks for the comments, I paid the charges as I purchased without inquiring first. This is my second purchase from brick link so there is a learning curve here. This has taught me a few things: 1. Get shipping estimates beforehand instead of assuming 2. On my seller account, encourage buyers to get shipping quotes, may cost me time but may keep me from losing a returning customer. 3. Fine tune my seller terms and conditions, this seller had nothing. I knew that before buying and what do you know, we had two different thoughts of how this transaction will turn out. I as ranting earlier as a buyer but understand from a sellers standpoint. Transactions like this just helps as it puts me in the buyers shoes, it helps keep me honest. They change it from time to time but right now defects are given for the reasons below (and a link so you can see the whole performance standard page re defects etc.). The language tells the tale: you get a defect for a return INITIATED or a case OPENED (for SNAD or INR) -- what happens after that won't remove the defect, even if the buyer changes his/her mind or says, "Oh, hey, it just got here in the mail, thanks!" Only one defect per transaction counts - if the buyer opens a SNAD (defect), then initiates a return (defect), then leaves negative feedback (defect), that's still only one defect. Transaction defect rate requirements The transaction defect rate is the percentage of your transactions that have one or more of the following defects: Detailed seller rating of 1, 2 or 3 for item as described Detailed seller rating of 1 for shipping time Negative or neutral feedback A return initiated for a reason that indicates the item was not as described An eBay Money Back Guarantee request or PayPal Purchase Protection case opened for an item not received or an item not as described Seller-initiated transaction cancellation http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html1 point

It will be interesting to see what happens to the price of the TIE fighter once the UCS version is released in May for $199. I'm guessing it may depress it a bit. Clearly, the last version of the TIE fighter was the best one given they didn't use the abhorrent blue plates.1 point

First..Sorry that happened to you. It is never fun when something like that happens. Coming from an experienced online seller an ALL channels, i can give you some advice. The Bay and PP have pretty cut and dry rules when it comes to a situation like this. - If the item is under $250 and has a valid tracking number from either USPS/UPS or Fedex, it does not require a signature. The buyer will never win a case, for non-delivery if tracking shows "delivered" and the value under $250. Very cut and dry from PP point of view. - If the item is over $250 , they must have a signature of receipt, and a valid tracking # showing the item was signed and delivered. In this case, if the item was delivered with-out signature, you can get your funds back pretty easy. It seems the first method falls into your sale, and you may be stuck without the product or funds. Unfortunately. Important... Speak to your local post-master, file a federal theft report for your mail. They sometimes do reimburse or find the package. I personally have had to go this route. It takes weeks if not months, but it is better than nothing. Also, personally call The Bay and speak to them, explain the situation. Tell them you would like at least Ebay (bucks) credit for the purchase to use again on a different seller. This has worked also in the past. Hope any info helps!1 point

I have shipped large sets USPS before. The prices were insane. If they are the cheapest option for large sets now that's bad. Guess I can just stop doing free shipping or only provide free shipping in my zone.1 point

Regarding the debate on the popularity of this set, I saw this thread on the Reddit lego sub. The membership of this subreddit has a lot of hardcore fans and I think they can be a good barometer of a set's popularity. Here's a small discussion on the modulars that took place yesterday, where they rank them. Like anything, opinions vary, but he Pet Shop seems to be well received overall. http://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/2rf3eh/rank_the_lego_modulars/1 point

But sadly with not such a high flair as it did in my opinion. Saying this as an avid Tolkien fan. What I feel about LEGO LotR is that the theme being unfinished is working like a curse. Completionists are deterred because they can never have key characters/locations as of the current standing. Still I am happy that LEGO even released a set like this, I find it amusing. If anybody asked me a few years ago about a possible LEGO exclusive Orthanc I would have laughed him/her off as delusional. This set is a one-off stuff that I believe will be truly appreciated only in the long run and we won't see a huge price hike in the short term after retirement.1 point

To update my situation I contacted seller. He told. Me usps wrapped it. No apology or anything. I sent a long message that was very civil. Just asking what he would like to do... Return or that if accept a partial refund etc. Told me usps fault they wrapped it. Reslly?! Ignored my reply. So I opened my first snad case ever. Hate to do it but if one is not going to take responsibility well then I'm going for the throat. Negative feedback etc. The whole thing. Exactly. The Pet Shop, when placed next to the other Modulars...disappears. It is much smaller and almost looks out of scale. Sorry, this set might be better looking than Market Street, but it is a disappointment IMO. I am not saying that it will be a bad investment, just that it will not be as popular as the others.1 point

I sure hope Endor isn't in the movie. I've had enough Ewoks already between ROTJ and there 1 or 2 TV movies. At least with JJ Abrams, I doubt we'll see Ewoks pod-racing speeder bikes while screaming yippie. With Lucas, the latter could have been a possibility as the scene would've sold toys.1 point
