  4. Well, I did it... Cut the seals and opened one to build! The box had a couple punctures, but really to me it was a set I was never not going to build. And to satisfy the curious...

  7. So we've obviously had space and town police stations. Now City has given us Forest and Swamp Police Stations. What's next? The Outback with wily dingos and kangaroos to rob the locals? Maybe a Police Station for the Arctic theme because we all know how much trouble the polar bears cause. These are getting ridiculous. All the while the town doesn't have proper bank, post office, or gas station.

  9. Luckily no! I had about $350 in VIP and $400 from gift cards from the holidays :-) Add in all the freebies to be sold and reward sites for the purchases and it reduces the burn by a good amount.

  14. Belongs to a friends daughter doing a science project on solar power. Bought the solar kit to use and we are going to build different solar powered vehicles (big/small wheels, tracked) to see the impact on the amount of power produced. Who says lego isn't educational? :)

  16. We have recently seen examples of items being in the catalog, but already gone including the spring catalog with the SSD. Also are you really from Antarctica? If so, is Lego's current Arctic theme a hot seller there? If so, is that dangerous?

  17. My tru had the elsa castle out yesterday. They said they only got 6 in and I got the last one. Was going to qfll but it looks like they are only selling for $65 shipped on ebay and my local craiglist has them at $60. After taxes my cost being $45 just doesnt seem like much profit margin there. My 5 year old daughter already found it and is offering her unopened Olivia house that she got for Christmas. That might be my best offer.

  21. Welcome me to the Amazon club. Opened my seller account yesterday and posted a few items - so now I can say I've been selling on Amzn since 2014 I set my prices at the low end, just 'cause I'm eager to get my first sales... I understand the fee structure, payments, etc, in theory, but want to see how it really works in practice. Got my first 2 sales today, and yowzah ... I am learning about fees (and shipping)! Anyway, wish me luck... and if anyone wants to share their experience with a noob, send me a PM... I'd be glad to hear anything you have to say.

  22. I built the DDC because yesterday someone in the DD thread wanted to know if it floats. Well it does float but not upright like in the movie, see pics. Note: no Minifigs were hurt during this test. That being said deffinetly best build of 2015 so far. You get a lot for your money including the cop car which was a nice mini build, also not pictured is unikitty she was sold on eBay to cover the cost of the set. Now back to the Slave1

  23. Just an FYI.. I got some from the first batch TRU offered in early Sept. but only sold 1 between that time and Black Friday. I had them on AZ and eBay for very little profit just to try to get some attention but no luck. Worked out really well in the end, but not sure there is much of a market for these that early in the year.

  25. Alas you are right. I do wish I could walk into a Kroger and take a picture of a tumbler now and post it. Perhaps I can ask my local manager if I can bring one in put it on the shelf with a fake tag and take a photo. That would turn exclusive on its head.

  31. I'm actually a little worried about that after the thrashing of Wisconsin. I would of never guessed that. I'm driving down to FL to watch with a huge Baylor fan whose dad has been on a NFL coaching staff his whole life. He already gave me crap about TCU crushing Ole Miss seeing that was our only loss. My UPS driver is also a huge OSU fan so got a lot riding on this one for bragging rights LOL. We are not that good or dominate like 2-3 years ago so I really thing it will be a closer game than most are expecting. I have a bad feeling and whenever I do its usually not good for us.

  32. Well, I'm a Buckeye, and I will be shocked if we don't get our arses kicked. I still can't believe we're contending for a national championship with the 3rd string quarterback starting. I'll still be watching...

  37. Can you imagine the black hole we get into when all this retirements are done and come to a hold for a while? It is like when you finish watching the full 6 seasons of "the Soprano's" in three weeks time. After that I did not know what to do with my life anymore.

  39. Welcome to Brickpicker! I'm a new guy around here as well, but for the most part everyone seems friendly, with a genuine desire to help one another out. Can't give a lot of advice other than what's been given already. I would have to say though, with the background and budget you've described, in all honesty the F5 key can be a good friend; it has for me. It's always nice to luck onto a few great buys that are guaranteed to be a good return on your investment right as they're going EOL. Best of luck to you!

  40. Bored, so posting this minutia detail. Saw the Green Lantern set in the store tonight, and was surprised how thin the box was. Like the same front dimension as the usual $20 set box size, but much thinner. Going to be great to store 8 of those in the same space you can store 5 Arctic Batman's, etc. That is all.

  41. Not nearly as much as the Tumbler due to it being after Christmas. However, if they limit these to in store like they did with the Tumbler and go out of stock online than yes, it's a great idea to grab some of these right now and do some flipping if supplies become limited. I'm just not sure if the Slave has the same fanbase as the Tumbler. Could be wrong though. I know I would rather have Slave than Tumbler as I'm more of a Star Wars fan than Batman.

  45. ^^ CC, same here... 5 total, but likely to build one. All are sealed for the long-haul- can't wait to see this sets progress as scarcity sets in and the new movies roll out. _ _ _ _ _ Edit: ... though I have to wonder about the science behind a "super star destroyer". I need to brush up on some Hawkins, but aren't stars basically just massive, flaming balls of hydrogen fuel? How would you "destroy one", and... If you were in the midst of an inter-galactic war, what would be the benefit of doing so? SSD Crewman: "Sir, we are being attacked by an enormous fleet of X-wings and other Republic gunships. Need your orders, sir". SSD Captain: Never mind them. See that star over there? Let's blow it up. SSD Crewman: "Sir, our vessel has taken over 4,000 direct hits in the last twenty seconds. I advise we use our guns to fight these guys instead". SSD Captain: YOUR INSOLENCE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. SSD Crewman: Sir, that star hasn't fired anything at all at us. The way I see it- and I may be alone here- is that it's just a star, and is not posing a direct threat to our mission or campaign. Those X-wings, on the other hand, have now killed over 11,000 crewman and Stormtroopers since we started this discussion. They may be faceless people to you, sir, but seven of those Stormtroopers (Randy, Hal, Alice, Tom, Angela, Stephen and Bob) are part of our Thursday-night Baccarat club. They are people, sir. Tom's kid plays soccer with yours, Sir, and I just feel that... AAAAND KABLOOOOIE. With the cost, labor, time, effort, and engineering prowess needed to design a ship that can blow up a star, imagine if that had all been put into a ship that blew up OTHER ships, instead of stars. I think the Empire's engineer that built this one is the same guy who built the Death Star, and decided it would be a great idea to have a couple completely open, unexposed shafts leading to the very heart of the entire contraption- where an accurately-placed rock from a sling-shot would destroy the entire thing.

  46. So I've just seen this one comment on amazon.com where the guy gave 1 star (or zero...) because he really doesn't like what LEGO did there... He writes: " Disappointing what can I say the best part of this set is the minifigures but the vehicles are lacking in detail the minifigures do not fit inside the vehicles the doors do not open regardless I made a better lego version if you are interested send me a note and I will provide you with a link." I made a better lego version if you are interested send me a note and I will provide you with a link I made a better lego version better lego version then he posted that link in the following comments: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-DeLorean-DMC-BTTF-Back-to-the-Future-custom-9468-9464-76004-21103-10229-Fig-/121364891685?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=9Ukx8B%252FrQMW7SVZsYtALg9XJCMY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc I don't wanna say that his DeLorean custom made version doesn't come with a certain charme... but I wouldn't go as far as to call it "better" ***** just in case the link vanishes I'll provide you with some pictures ^.^
