Thank you. I had to step away for a while, primarily because college classes have gotten so intense I just haven't had the free time. But I'm off for two weeks vacation and I graduate with my bachelor's in April, so hopefully I can be on here more frequently.6 points

It gives you options. Options...to build, to save, to flip. At least if you have one copy...you have ONE copy. Do you know how many people wait to buy a set they want to get some great deal and the deal never comes and people have to pay over MSRP to buy the set? Too many to mention I'm afraid.4 points

Yeah, I quoted myself. Deal with it. On Christmas Eve I was at Target looking for the deal someone posted. The aisle was filled with kids, about 10 of them from different families I would guess ages 8-12. They weren't looking at the Star Wars. Not the Super Heroes. Certainly not the LotR. Not even the Ninjago. They all were talking about lego movie and pulling down boxes "OHHH COOL", "CHECK THIS OUT", "WOW". I am going to double down on my prediction. 10 years, this will be the theme people look back on and go "nuts, why didn't I buy more at 50% off. 20% off. MSRP". Yeah, it's a single incident with a tiny sample size. But they were rabid. And I have a feeling this is not an isolated incident. I may rethink my aversion to this series and get creative for a long haul.2 points

Save a screen shot of that sale, and show it to the spouse this time next year.1 point

Yes, you're covered if it doesn't show up. It's cheaper for him to print postage online, so if he's telling you it will cost him or you more, he's simply ignorant, or he knows it perfectly well but can't be bothered with a small learning curve to enter the 21st century. Give it a bit more time as the poster above suggests, as first class packages do get put "back burner" behind priority and express the week or so before Christmas.1 point

Paypal still covers you, but if it was really sent on Dec 19th, it could still be traveling. I had one seller actually send it a week after it was marked 'sent' in BL, and also without tracking (not online). It took a while, but I got it in the end.1 point

Don't remind me about those 3182 airports...I'm still angry about the 20, or so airports that I sold for 100-120, right after they retired...got most of them for $60, but still...they are approaching $300 now! I remember seeing 2 whole pallets of the 3182's at a local TRU a couple yrs ago for $79.99....wish a would've unloaded those in my car.1 point

Agreed, the passenger style airport should see a refresh in '16 at the latest. There hasn't been a year without some type of big plane going back to 2007. 7894 Airport: Oct 2007-Dec 2008 7734 Cargo: Dec 2007-Nov 2009 3182 Airport: May 2010-Dec 2012 60022 Cargo: Aug 2013-Dec 20141 point
-
I guess I didn't phrase that right. I think that the next Cargo type plane will be released in 4 or more years. I think there should be a passenger plane coming out within the next year or two.1 point
-
I'd be surprised if the next city airplane doesn't arrive until 4 more years. 3182 retired December 2012 and the refresh 60022 came out just 8 months later in August 20131 point

In fairness the Sold Out status at TLG took most of us by surprise. I know you'd have had many more if it was sticking around till the end of next year. I think most predict this set to do quite well following the previous success of Lego planes. This one is a balls deep venture, don't see much risk here.1 point

My 5 year old daughter and 8 year old son love the fusion sets, they have the Friens one and the Town Master. They both love them. For the town one, make sure to build a police station quickly because the bad guys will keep stealing stuff until you do.1 point

Found three of these yesterday on clearance at WM for $99. Best score of the day.1 point

Just wait and keep your HH in storage, no need to bundle this set, and no urge in reselling this one now. Let the $300 sets go first on ebay, than there will not be "1000" but far less resellers on 2016. About the vampyre castle, you can make a bundle with little sets, why, not, it's a good idea. It's all about monsters. But again, I would not try to sell it now and would wait up to Xmas 2015.1 point

Thanks for the review Josh. My daughter is about to turn 7, and we've got an iPad 2 as well, that's probably on it's last legs. But still functioning. That sounds excellent, and is right up her alley. I think I may end up getting that for her for her birthday next month. Sounds like she'll have a blast with it.1 point

My daughter is about 7 1/2 and has been into the friends line big time for the last year or so. The fusion thing is pretty cool. The way it works in a nutshell is they download an app which is essentially a game that runs on an engine very similar to lego batman or star wars or whatever. The characters in-game will ask your avatar to basically build them a city and carry out various tasks and activities within the city. Your daughter will then perform simple builds with real lego pieces of just the front of the building. You take a picture of the build with your Ipad and it scans the building design into the game. Then the in-game functions take over, and your daughter basically gets to be an interior designer and decide what kind of furniture, cabinets, counters, plants, etc she wants inside the buildings. After that, your in-game avatar can run around and do stuff in the buildings, or keep building a larger city. If I had one gripe, it is that it can sometimes be tricky to get the Ipad camera centered correctly on the build in order to take a picture of it that can be used accurately in game. My daughter needed my help to take the pictures well, I don't know if that's because of the app or because I have an older Ipad2 and the camera potentially isn't up to snuff. Not really sure.1 point

You're the first person I know that has it. How old is your daughter? Mine is almost 7. I like the concept, but was worried about the execution. I don't have a problem with her using it and being creative.1 point

I was able to snag two of these a couple days before Christmas, at Target. Gave my daughter one from Santa and I don't have the time to quick-flip the second one so I'll probably just hold for the long run. Gonna wait to see how it does after official release before buying many more.1 point

Found a 10220 in the wild at Target. It was a return and they marked it down 30% because they didn't have shelf space. Had a small hole in the middle of the back as well as slight creasing in the packaging. Tape was still sealed. $88.18 out the door w sales tax (83.18 sticker).1 point

Very nice! it's sad to think the clone wars era is dying and that this new wave could be the last in a very long time to include clone wars era sets1 point

I assumed, but I wasn't sure if I needed to go check Wal-Marts. As you well know, I rarely get to visit Target.1 point

I'd rather not bundle the Vampyre Castle and Haunted House. Too bulky and risky to ship. I'll bundle some of the Scientists, Hearses, Werewolfs, Mummies, and Swamp Creature sets.1 point

OOS at all retailers in US except for shop at home now for almost a month except for a few brief appearances at amazon. i have been foolishly buying these 2 per month now for 6 months even though consensus is no chance it will retire anytime soon and will be very unpopular post EOL because of how short, stocky and generally uninspired design. its the george costanza of modulars.1 point

I'm the same way. I've been gifting my kids various Galaxy Squad sets over the course of the year. Not sure if I'll make any money off of the sealed ones I still have stashed, but they were all bought at 50% off or more, so I don't mind opening a few. They're pretty neat, especially the Hive Crawler with the moving legs.1 point

Picked up a half-built 10188 Death Star yesterday from CL. First two boxes opened and built, but the last two boxes are still sealed. It came with the instruction manual, box, and shipping box. $200 and he delivered.1 point

big fan as i've stated. could be as simple as colors but i think certain ones make for the coolest max mixel. example, i think yellow has the worst characters alone, but mix them together and the max mixel is pretty awesome. i think red of series 1 has the coolest characters. series 2, i'm also a fan of the brown and all the teeth and does make a cool max. the orange is kinda weak, blue is ok but Lunk has to be the worst of all mixels imo. flurry is very popular as is tentro and jawg. top 3 right there for series 2. series 3, purple are my fav max but scorpi is my fav solo. green kinda lacks for me. tan is cool aside from footi. he's pretty awful. series 4 the red coming back (increasing series 1 red imo) and especially the new glow in the dark ones are gonna be huge. the space ones look pretty weak. it will take quite a while for their values to increase as will series 3 but at $2 i don't blame ya's, i'd be getting hundreds as well. shame i don't have that deal around me. meijer seems to be a gold mine store!! mixels really are genius and the creativity is endless. it's a home run. still quite a lot of series 3 near me but i think by end of january i'll start seeing them going especially when 4 comes out in february. as for the nixels. they are ok. just a few pieces. i could see some people wanting an army of them. not sure it'd be worth it for lego to produce a bag of them. like 4-5 per bag. and i wouldn't say the ones that come with a nixel are selling for more, in fact because it's not listed on the package if i'm correct, i don't think most know or think about which come with a nixel. parents certainly have no clue. i think actually the ones that come with a nixel so happen to be the low sellers. i think lego chose them on purpose maybe cause they thought they were the weaker characters of each set. i really wish i had $2 mixels around me.1 point

My kid loves these and has them all. I am still surprised it is hard for me to choose which character / colors will be most popular. For example from Series 1, I definitely thought the reds were the coolest, but yellows were the clear winner in resale value (though reds are catching up fast). Series 2, I like the Fang Gang... all those teeth... but the slow, frozen blues are the hottest seller. Series 3, I like the tans, especially Scorpi, but current word on the street says that purples will become hardest to find. I'm guessing it has more to do with childrens' attraction to favorite colors than the characters themselves. Given a choice between a brown, blue, or orange mixel, kids choose blue (a favorite color for lots of people). Maybe it's as simple as that. Anyone parting out Mixels yet? ... just kidding... but I was wondering... could someday the Mixel / Nixel packs become more valuable than the others? Could they be parted out? For those that don't know... each color set of three has one character that comes with one Nixel inside (Nixels are little black enemies of the Mixels). If you've seen the cartoon clips, or played the tablet app, you'll know that Nixels get together in large groups to fight the Mixels. It's possible there's some buyers out there who want to create an "army" of Nixels. I believe the current characters that have Nixels in the pack are: Krader, Teslo, Vulk, Balk, Chomly, Slumbo, Glurt, Hoogi, and Magnifo (correct me if I'm wrong... I just asked my 6 year old, and he listed them off in about 5 seconds.... he seemed quite sure of himself). On the same note, I think Lego is missing an opportunity to print more money, by not offering black Nixel-only packs. Just like those kids who don't care about Luke and Han (but want to collect ALL of the Sith and Vaders), I'm sure there are Nixel "dark side" fans. They could also offer a variety of "boss" Nixels, like those shown on the other media.1 point

Yes.....TOO MANY SCAMMERS DISHONEST HUSTLERS!!! Definitely if you we're willing to drop this kind of cash...you had better do/done your homework. Definitely don't want anyone getting hustled...especially a person that goes on here for investment knowledge. To me they have to have at least 100 feed backs and I would check and see if those feed backs were as a buyer or seller. VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE AT LEAST HALF WERE AS A SELLER!!! Too easy to get feed backs buying $5 items and selling $5 items. A lot of scammers are getting smart, so what they are doing is buying and selling a lot of small rinky dink items to build their feed backs. Once they do that, they'll sell a BIG TICKET ITEM and then that's how they'll get you. So don't believe the feed backs all the time. Also if they CAN'T CAN'T CAN'T generate good quality pictures of the $1,000,000,000,000,000.00 item they are selling, that raises a question. Are they legit???? Probably not!!! Look elsewhere for that expensive set. Got to be very careful on EBAY when it comes to the more expensive sets and other things in general. Also a lot of people that sell on Ebay that are honest and try to be great sellers will write a lot of info on their description of the item. Will ask you if you have any questions to send them a message. Will explain what they expect from you as a buyer and how they will ship out the item. A lot of customer service and they will definitely care because they depend on positive feed backs for their sales. Just something to look for when buying. Hope this helps.1 point
