I had an order for a Tower Bridge from LEGO Shop at Home that never made it my house (well maybe it did, but it wasn't around by the time I got back home from work). I called LEGO Shop at Home customer service, hoping they could help locate the package. The c/s rep immediately offered to send me out a new TB express shipped for free (I got it in time for Christmas). I wasn't expecting a replacement set at no cost, so that was a win in my mind. They had a problem finding a replacement 2/2 holiday promo set. The c/s rep says to me "I can't find any extra 2/2 holiday sets to ship you, but I do have a special promo item I can send you as compensation. Imagine my excitement thinking about what free goodie I might receive in the mail.....a Flower cart sent early release? a Hotdog or Balloon vendor cart poly-bag from earlier in the year? Not so much as a complaint, but I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed when I opened the package and it was a Worriz Fire Bike poly-bag.7 points

That is one of those stories where you know how the joke ends, but you still lol when the punchline hits. 10/10 would read again5 points

I'd rather not bundle the Vampyre Castle and Haunted House. Too bulky and risky to ship. I'll bundle some of the Scientists, Hearses, Werewolfs, Mummies, and Swamp Creature sets.2 points

Yeah, I quoted myself. Deal with it. On Christmas Eve I was at Target looking for the deal someone posted. The aisle was filled with kids, about 10 of them from different families I would guess ages 8-12. They weren't looking at the Star Wars. Not the Super Heroes. Certainly not the LotR. Not even the Ninjago. They all were talking about lego movie and pulling down boxes "OHHH COOL", "CHECK THIS OUT", "WOW". I am going to double down on my prediction. 10 years, this will be the theme people look back on and go "nuts, why didn't I buy more at 50% off. 20% off. MSRP". Yeah, it's a single incident with a tiny sample size. But they were rabid. And I have a feeling this is not an isolated incident. I may rethink my aversion to this series and get creative for a long haul.2 points

I finally got around to building this set. It's just so...big. When I was 25% done, one could have thought I was building The Bat from the last film. Gotta love the wheels. The kids were around on and off during the build (over 2 days with many stoppages) so I couldn't do a build review. It's a nice set. Just be sure to not move it much since it's on the fragile (it must be Italian , Christmas Story joke) side. The side fenders that extends from the front to the side windows fall off easily. The upper brake flaps don't bother me as much as they are in an area seldom touched. Things do tend to fall apart inside when moving the vehicle around by the sides. Getting those can be a pain since the cockpit openings are narrow. I'll post more in a review, in the meantime, here is a web found comparison pic between 7888 and 76023. 7888 is minifig scaled and kinda large itself.2 points

Star Wars Summer 2015 Set List? How's that for something on a slow day? Especially of note: 75093 Death Star Final Duel and 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium2 points

I typically only sell in bundles when I am trying to move volume and clear out some inventory from less than popular themes (city and ninjago as examples). It creates some cash flow that I can reinvest into something more popular. High dollar / popular sets I sell individually to maximize the profit.2 points

Here is a look at the Vendor area for sellers. Only sellers get access to this.2 points

Well here is a quick update. Ed and I are working through looking over the site right now together. He is working on editing content about the rules of the site and FAQ type of questions. I believe probably tomorrow will finally be the day that the mods and maybe a few others will get their hands on it to help look for some final bugs and solicit feedback. As of right now, we are looking to kick off the New Year with launching this to everyone. Why not start the year off with something new and interesting. Here is a screenshot of where we are at right now. The overall setup that this site is taking is that it will be just like a "classifieds" or even a flea market. There will not be a true category structure like you see on Bricklink or Brickowl. It will be more tag based where it will be up to the community to help place their items in the areas that they feel may work for them. This will really keep it to be a wide open marketplace that anything LEGO related will be able to be posted. No waiting for us to update categories or sets. I will release more details and screenshots over the coming days, but I just wanted to get it out there that the end is near and time to move forward.2 points

My suggestion is to list sets separately and offer combined postage. One thing I did to sell two extra The Zombies pretty fast (@$215) last month was mention how the set "looks great with 10228 Haunted House" in the auction title.1 point

Never fear - in about 3 months you'll get a message that somebody opened a set you sold them and it's missing a brick and you RUINED CHRISTMAS.1 point

You all have let me down. I am sitting here on Dec 26th without a single "you ruined chrsitmas" message to cool my inbox. Selling through the holiday has been in vain!1 point

I usually bundle when I want to move slow selling sets. I usually combine them with a hot item and off they go . Also with some themes (City and Friends for ex), bundling just comes naturally. one last take, some folks bundle an entire line (modulars) but those listing tend to sit longer on the market since they target a small segment of buyers.1 point

Built the Black Seas Barracuda for the first time. The wife suprised me this Christmas. What a great build. I have waited 25 years to get this thing. I remember it on the tru lego wall. I never got it. Awesome set and I don't think any ships since come close.1 point

Dino Defense HQ and Craggers Command Ship for my 8 yr old. My 5 yr old got some smaller ninjago and chima sets. The oldest can't wait to spend some Christmas money on the new Minecraft sets! For myself, guardians of the Galaxy (all 3) and Sea Cow!1 point

Just finished building the Spider-Copter Rescue w/ Green Goblin, a real nice set. My son has been asking for it for several months. I have to say, this Imaginext Battle Rover and Bat-Bot are super cool. Off to build the Chima: Mammoth Stomper next.1 point

there are a lot of sets that are sold out @ Lego. retirement is eminent on many of these sets1 point
-
I have been buying these up over the last 6 months and everytime I show a friend of mine in the 30-40 age range, they are blown away that this exists. I know we all talk about how many of this set has been made but there are still thousands if not millions of people that don't follow Lego and will be kicking themselves years down the road.1 point

My previous complaint about Fed-Ex not delivering my package is no longer valid - luckily today Fed-Ex arrived with my lost Research Institute. It sounds like the good will of a stranger out in the world who had my package left with them by mistake in a city 3 hours away from me and they must have returned it to Fed-Ex and today here it is. Made my day.1 point

North Korea finds the Lego Pet Shop offensive. Claims the build instructions are too similar to the Parisian Restaurant. Demands retirement. Hackers release TLG emails exposing contempt over 21110 supporters. TLG capitulates and pulls 10218 claiming they had no choice. In other news, North Korea spikes the ebay price of 10226 by buying hundreds of the sets to create an Air Force capable of a Japanese invasion. Later, the head of the North Korean's Ministry of Auction Site Acquisitions was executed for incompetence. The ministry later flooded the market with listings of 10226 while acquiring any 10221 they could find under $800.1 point

Finally have pretty much finished an 8097 Slave-1 that I picked up in a used lot a few months ago. I *swear* I inventoried this thing. But I've had to stop-restart so many times, I must have been out of my mind when I inventoried it. I'm still missing a couple of pieces before I can call it complete. At least I've got it assembled, and know what's missing, so I can do one last BL of the missing parts.1 point

I am still building my 10179 MF - it's just so enormous that daily, or even weekly progress is hard to see (since I only spend about 1 hour every other day - that's probably why...) Page 162 of the manual - I guess I am half -way through?1 point
