After watching reviews of the upcoming "76028 - Darkseid Invasion" and "76026 - Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas" sets, I feel much better about our 6862 set. I'm actually glad I kept all of mine instead of unloading them for nearly retail price. In the Darkseid set, it does have classic Superman but w/o the famous heat vision eyes (yeah, some might say this is a minor detail). Although I do like the new flexible fabric capes introduced in the 2015 capes. In the Grodd set, I'm not digging the sword swinging Wonder Woman. The silver (instead of gold) accents are "ok". The mini fig also doesn't have the blue white star bottom that Linda Carter made famous in the 1970s. All in all 6862 still has a chance to make those who invested in this set happy especially since we don't have a 2015 Lex refresh yet.3 points

Not any MOCs, but I do like to incorporate other cold/ice/winter elements into my Winter Village. You can view the rest of the album here: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/jive1/slideshow/Lego%20Winter%20Village3 points

Too many alternate versions (two "3 in 1" sets), and the main model of the bike shop can be opened. And the pictures I saw have some different angles. Although here is a picture, I hope it's accurate enough, to show the difference in size between these two sets: Bigger picture: '> Models are "mirrored" because the angle of view might give a bad idea of the ratio. Note: this time I did not use the studs to compare sets, like I did with the Parisian restaurant (32 studs) and the 31026 (16 studs), but the hight of the buildings (19 bricks + 1 stud for the 31026 and 20 bricks for the 31036)2 points

I love this forum. I mentioned the other day that I had missed out on the B-Wing @ $25 sale. Someone here on the board (I'm not naming names) stepped up and told me they'd be glad to sell me the one they picked up at their cost. I declined the offer - they got the deal, I didn't, and I've already got a ton to build. But I love that there are awesome people here that do stuff for one another like that.2 points

Seeing as it is the period of goodwill, I thought it would be a good time and place to open up a thank you thread for 2014 in order that members may show their gratitude to whoever they feel they owe it to. I will start by saying thanks to this site1 point

I'm really not a fan of this one... Colors are a little sad, I don't know... and I miss the eyes of the vulture. The split function (plane/base) is ok though. My favorite set (in picture) in this new wave still is the 70224 Tiger1 point

I am rather new to selling on Ebay. I have a question. I sold a used set that my boys put together (they are extremely careful and this is their little business: putting used sets back together and selling them) and I double checked all their work. We sent off a 100% complete set that arrived on Dec 14th and today (yes on Christmas day) this person sends me a note telling me the Fire Lord character is missing the red ball that goes in his left hand. I am 100% sure it was sent in a sealed ziploc bag with the rest of the set. This ebayer has given me a very long explanation, which includes a reference to how disappointed his/her boy is not to have this important piece, etc (people who lie always turn things into a long story with people's emotions getting hurt when a short informational note would suffice). What are my options?1 point

I agree on the statements from lego. I am done investing in superhero and friends sets, outside of the big exclusives. Too many remakes or variants of the same thing. It reminds menof the 90's comic bubble bust. When a company attempts to create rarity by manufacture the end is nigh. How many versions of batman can there really be. Investors must adjust/adapt or die. I also will not invest in any star wars ucs remakes. I am sure others will disagree, but I will stay away. Too much risk in an illiquid asset.1 point

Thanks Binuo, Maybe the alternative builds are better? I mean... better to combine with the bike shop & cafe? These are really buildings to put in a suburbian area. Do not combine nicely with the modulars I am affraid.1 point

I find it a little weird that stores would begin sales on December 25th at midnight. Come on, no one should be in front of a screen watching for sales on that day...1 point

I liked the beach hut box but wasn't paying MSRP when I still have to build the beach house. It will be on my watch list. I think you can fold the main build to make one building to go along with the other two from the first set. We need Binuo to photoshop us a pic of the two together like he did for the bike shop and PR1 point

Die Hard. One of my all time favorites. It was the year I got a hi fi vas, 27" tv and surround sound in my bedroom. You remember the scene at the top of the building when it explodes and with surround sound you can hear the fire hose go across your surround sound and hear Bruce Willis's feet banging on the glass on the side of the building. I brought my wife who i was dating at the time in and showed her that scene and said what do you think isn't that awesome. She looked at me and said what was it that is awesome? I said the surround sound, the explosion, the dynamic sound and movement in the room. She looked at me and I said lets go eat dinner. I plan to watch Die Hard now tonight because of you - thank you.1 point

I thought the new Toy Shop 31036 was $79, ten less then the bike shop, I know I read that somewhere on here. I saw it at target today for $39 it is half the size and less detailed. Not impressed.1 point

My previous complaint about Fed-Ex not delivering my package is no longer valid - luckily today Fed-Ex arrived with my lost Research Institute. It sounds like the good will of a stranger out in the world who had my package left with them by mistake in a city 3 hours away from me and they must have returned it to Fed-Ex and today here it is. Made my day.1 point

German site Promobricks.de posted the first leaked photos for the new Series They say the sources is the 2015 LEGO Catalog. Honestly, I have to say - I don't see a miss in here at all. On first glance, and for the first time, I think I really like all of these figures.1 point
