OK since you have it all figured out then I suggest you go and start your own lego how to do it website. You have been skating on thin ice here the past few days and we have been pretty lenient with you but it stops now or you will no longer be a member here. If you want to be a part of this community knock off the trolling. If you don't want to be a part of it I can help you leave. The decision is yours.5 points

I just spoke to LEGO CS and they just agreed for me to return mine after 6 months! But, I pay the postage. I no longer have faith in this set and can't stand the Simpsons anyway. I may revisit in a few years when EOL is expected as I bought way too early. For the sake of3 points

I think we need to summarize the last 5 or 6 pages. Fallingwater is a great set. So are most Architecture sets. They have no minifigures. Patience is needed. People are not making money flipping the a $100 set for $130. Real resellers flip Elsa's Shiny Shack or whatever it's called.3 points

Instead of debating and banging it out on the keyboard, cut a promo like this one and post it. It will be far more entertaining.3 points

It's not just Lego I take to the extreme, I am also an avid fan of Christmas lights, and so I thought I'd share my Christmas light display with all of you: Anyone else taking it to the extreme with Christmas decorating? Thanks, Jim2 points

Definitely poofed right now. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been in stock for an hour or so.2 points

*head asplode* I don't even care if it's canon or not, this would be awesome. A power functions train in some sort of a space city setup would be awesome. While we're at it, how about a Star Wars modular. :-)2 points

Funny, I actually contacted a distant relative who lives in London just to catch up and had mentioned this set. Her husband is from Denmark and so I asked if he was flying through Billund anytime soon. He wasn't, but his dad was coming to visit them the next day and flying through Billund. I will be receiving 3 of these. No word if he actually could have bought more, but I'll take it!2 points

I think the over saturation theory might be a product of us finally paying attention to the stock levels instead of just walking past them like they were galaxy squad2 points

This was my first quarter to sell Legos that I've been acquiring all year. Did well with advents (except the two Friends that will have to wait until next year), unloaded my readily-available tumblers for a small profit and will restock towards EOL, and sold all of my Riding Camps for a tidy profit each. Other Friends did not sell, but they did not sell out and/or were not retired. I think next Christmas should be better when more of my sets are retired and gone. I didn't even bother listing City, Technic, or Star Wars this year (not retired long enough and waiting for episode 7). CL brought out the weird and insane this season. Two people trying to offer below MSRP claiming I should give it to them for X or less because "it's available at TRU for X but is sold out." And despite "cash only", I've had people try to barter for ammunition, a Wii, and tattoo services.1 point

Just an update...I called Lego customer service and explained the situation. I told them to charge my card and they did. The woman I spoke to had no idea these were being double shipped. As a thank you, she didn't charge me any sales tax. -Jeff1 point

I've had this happen before (they didn't even change the font) & eBay does take their time but eventually they must be told something because their type was changed later. Pic remained the same though.1 point

Like you I also stocked up heavily on these but I won't be parting with mine for a couple of years. I expect UG to perform similarly to Harry Potter The Burrow1 point

This set is absolutely not returning. It's been over two years and in an underperforming line. That being said, pretty much from moment one everyone has talked about how this set is iconic, and it's the one people will want from the Hobbit line for years to come. You've had plenty of time, and they were avail for 50-60 during most of its existence. Everyone should have a good stash of these. It may fall under the Long Term Hold plan, as I think a lot of people have grabbed some (and had plenty of time to do so at a good price) - but this is going to have appeal to AFOL's for a very long time to come. I don't think $250 is unreasonable for this thing in a couple years, and I would be pretty stunned if it settles for anything less than $200. If you don't have any, TRU is still shipping for $65.1 point

I think with the mini T1 and Spaceman promo from a few months back, it was pretty significantly discounted. I do have others for which I paid close to MSRP though. This Fall, it looked like the T1 might be done and I'd rather have the sets than not.1 point

You will probably just have to suck it up and get one. I was in the same situation. I realised, the price just keeps climbing. Luckily I was able to get one for the Low Low price of only $250. I figured I didn't have a snowballs chance in finding one at a store, brick brick or virtual at MSRP. Glad I pulled the trigger. This one just keeps climbing.1 point

The people who buy this type of set are a different type of collector than your "typical" Lego collector. I personally know three people that display architecture sets in their respective offices and they have two things in common: Each person only owns Architecture sets and each person has lots of disposable income.1 point

Just chill and do a search on eBay for items sold. Scroll down a bit and you'll find many that just sold over the past few days at RRP or less.1 point

Big fan of lotr and not raining on any parades but not a fun build. Put this black piece on that black piece 1x 4x 8x 12x rinse and repeat over and over. Looks bad ass in my ikea detolf but lots of the same thing.1 point

So I guess we should be expecting a lot of these "what should I do with the mistake I order I received but didn't pay for" questions popping up. About 6 years ago I received two orders from S@H during this time that were just dropped off at my house by mistake by the delivery company. I immediately called S@H on both occasions, and even delivered one of them for them since it was close to Christmas. Too bad this site didn't exist back then because I could've asked everyone else what the right thing to do was and if a couple people said "keep the stuff, not your fault, too bad for them" I could have kept the stuff and not had to feel bad about it.1 point

The fruitcakes seem to be running rampant on eBay lately. It's that time of year, so I should not expect any different. The ching ching of the eBay app sure does make one feel good, but the notification that you get when you have message from a buyer causes the exact opposite! Ugh, what next. There must be something in the water.1 point

Open a SNAD case - that gets sellers attention faster than anything else, as it causes a defect and you can escalate to get eBay involved. It doesn't even matter if you don't want to send it back - you can ask for anything reasonable (or even not reasonable but I know that's not the case here) -- you can ask for a partial refund in the amount it will cost you to get the missing pieces on BL, for example. Worst case scenario, eBay will tell you you have to return for refund, but you don't have to do that, you can just keep the set. If you don't want to go through the hassle at all, then a negative feedback is warranted, IMO, because of the lack of communication/resolution from the seller. If a seller screws up but fixes it, I either leave positive or no feedback.1 point

If you're in the US, 1 set of nine fits in the USPS flat rate bubble mailer easily. Plenty of protection and only $5ish, and no shipping supplies to buy. If you're keen on having a protective box, there's are chipboard boxes called 'Scotty Stuffers' that are designed to be the largest possible box you can fit in a flat rate bubble mailer.1 point

40056 Thanksgiving Feast has some bottles that are good substitutes. LEGO is not stupid, they just can't do alcohol smuggling: pool bar and cookies? Come on. Even lego says it's alcohol. This set is really fun. If they stop the modular line after this, I am going to kidnap Jamie, throw him in a hole with heaps of LEGO and play the "put the modular in the basket" game.1 point
